MARTINI NEW YEAR'S EVE CARD

Martini New Year's Eve Card

Well, Goodbye (almost) to 2015 and bring on 2016.  I'm thinking great things will be happening this year.  For one I get to watch my little blog continue to grow while I make cards.  My kids are doing great things in their lives, they are happy and safe, all a mama can ask for  I have an awesome husband, who is supportive, so many incredible blessings, and not to forget all my new blog buddies. Thank you!   My card today is a Martini glass that I just freehand cut out of glitter paper. I came across something similar on Pinterest and thought I'd give it a try, even though I'm not a drinking gal.  I thought it was cute.

Also, I just had to share I have recently started picking a word and verse for the year, it all started when I first had my back surgery, and I have grown to really enjoy doing this.  It makes me aware of it daily.
So this year I choose the word Obedience, and I Have Luke 5:5 as the verse to go along with.  To remind me not to be stubborn and if God says do it again.. DO it!
Believe He will work it out for a Blessing
Here's to hoping this New year will be filled with much cheer, good health, family, safety and tons of creativity.

CHRISTMAS BULB THANK YOU SSC116

Christmas Bulb Thank you SSC116

Today, I am playing along with the

SSC116 LET'S GET SKETCHY

 at: Sunday Stamps .
I used the Stamping up  set Lots of Joy, and a Lawn Fawn sentiment.  I embellished the Christmas ornaments with purple brads and jewels colored with permanent marker to match.  I also used and embossing folder for the background, and added some pearls to enhance the snowflakes.  I used a punch for the trim on the bottom strip of paper.  I feel like I'm getting my thank you cards done right away with these creative challenges.  Well, I'm making them, just need to write and send them off now.

FROSTY #GDP016

FROSTY #GDP016

Hello friends, I thought I'd play along with with Global Design Project  We are to CASE the designer's card.  So I  chose to use the Christmas theme and also the layout being that my  snowman is (somewhat)  in the center. I thought it worked lovely for this challenge.
The stamp set is an older one, but so adorable.  A few little brads for buttons and a green sequin for the cap makes this little card complete.
The snowman just seemed so fitting after the huge snowfall last night.

RUSTIC THANK YOU

Rustic Thank you

I was so excited to try this  stamp set.  It's new to me.  I think it's a few years old from stampin up.  I found it before Christmas at a consignment shop with my daughter before she left,  only 4 dollars.. you can't beat that.  A little brown twine, and a button ties it altogether sweetly.
I was struggling with my new camera today trying to take the perfect picture.  I've now decided it's me.  I still need to work on the lighting, but it will happen.. I have all next year to practice with it.  It's going to get better.
Please continue to bear with me.

CHRISTMAS THANK YOU

Christmas Thank You

Hoping you all had a blessed Christmas celebration.
We did indeed.  We are grateful our son and his girlfriend were able to make the trip home, but our daughter was not able this year.. but Thankfully we were able to skype with her and she was very much included in the days doings ☺  although our dog doesn't understand it, he's so funny he runs to the back door looking for her, and to her room and jumps on the bed, he then gets very vocal in his searching.  Cracks us up.  He does indeed love the kiddos.

My card today is a Christmas thank you.  I used an older stamping up set called chill of winter, and then the thank you is from Lawn Fawn.    I like the little bow on top using the stampin' up punch.  I added a dark green jewel to the center.  Of course glitter glitter everywhere... and not just the card.. good golly I'm a glittering gal.
Also, I was very spoiled this year.  Santa ( my husband) bought me a camera for my card making blog.  This is a huge deal for us because we don't buy lavish gifts.. just can't afford things like that, It's usually toothbrushes, and socks. which I did also receive ☺

I now have to learn how to use this camera  properly.. but I think the first card picture above turned out spectacular.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog.

On a different note  (haha) I would like to invite you all to check out my sister's website at: https://www.mydoterra.com/sarahwallner/#/
She is in the business of  essential oils.
Thank you so much.

CHRISTMAS TEA BAG BOX

Christmas tea bag box

Today I made a little tea bag gift box for my son's girlfriend.  I used the stamping up wonderland set for the trees, I found some buttons in my little jar that worked lovely for a Northwoods theme.  It was a bit tricky trying to tie the twine on the cap of the box.. but I prevailed and conquered that little rascal, a bit frayed but nevertheless, got it done.  I stamped the word "Enjoy" on the lid.  To my surprise it holds quite a few tea bags.. I think it's a darling little dispenser.

and from the side.. the forest continues
The above picture shows the little tea bags all tucked in their
box nice and neat.

The final picture of the lid  I hope she likes her little gift, it's not much but it's homemade and I know she likes tea.. so that's a good combo.

THE BLOG (BUSINESS) CARD

The Blog (business) Card
Well my friends, I didn't stamp  today, instead I made cute little cards to help promote my blog.  I hope you like them.   I left room to stamp images and sentiments on it.  I think I will print them out on card stock paper.  My sister came up with the idea for me.   Even though I blog for enjoyment/hobby and not for a business.  Maybe someday I'll sell Stampin Up or something.. but for now I'm just content playing with my stamps and showcasing my cards.  I am hoping to grow my audience members (followers).  If you're not following my blog already, I encourage you to sign in on the left hand side.  I sure would appreciate it.
To bad I already mailed all my Christmas cards, otherwise I could have stuck one of these in each persons envelopes.
Do you think this is a good idea to help promote my little card blog?

WALKING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND SNOWMAN

Walking in a Winter Wonderland Snowman
Well, Good evening folks, I didn't think I'd get a card made today.  I had to take myself out to the store, I sure do miss my little helper. (daughter)  I'm trying to become more independent, but the pain sent me straight home and to rest.

Any ways, who wants to hear about that depressing stuff.. so onward and upward to the card.  This darling idea came off the pinterest boards, and I thought why not put my own little spin on the top note die by creating my  little snowman.. I think he turned out super cute.. of course I wanted to color in some pink cheeks, but I thought it might be a bit to much.   I do however like the little googly eyes, and the ribbon.  I am still so astonished at the carrot nose.. I cut it freehand..yippee.   showing off some talent there.  haha.

Then I thought I'd get creative with my little old camera and snap a picture of the card under the tree.. and there you have it.

CHRISTMAS MUSIC PPA280

Christmas Music PPA280
Today's card I entered over at Pals Paper Arts   for the PPA280 sketch challenge.  I used a snowflake embossing folder for the background and stamped the music on the bottom, along with the Merry Christmas, I was going to make it into a giant note♪ hence the reason it has that shape and not a complete oval.  Any ways, of course I changed my mind and went with a sparkly stocking instead, added a little bling to make this card sing, and there ya have it.   I'm happy with the finished look.  Hope you like it too.

RACCOON CHRISTMAS

Raccoon Christmas
Good morning folks.  This little card has the cutest stickers, I honestly can't even remember where I got them but it was years ago, and golly gee I just came across them again, and said to myself "stop putting them away, use them"  so that is exactly what I did.  I think it turned out marvelously, and so very simple.  I did do a little bit of stamping for the background and the Merry Christmas.  I used an embossing folder for the lower half of the card.

Well, eventually we knew it would come.  You can't live in WI and not expect it.. so last night we finally got the temps we are use to.. as of this morning right now we are on the rise an up to  12 degrees already.. haha..

SIMPLE CHRISTMAS CARD

Simple Christmas Card
Hello my friends.  We did get a lot accomplished yesterday.  Praising the LORD for that.  It was tough, but I was able to keep going.

Today's card is simple and sweet.  I mixed up a few different stampin up Christmas sets, and used an embossing folder for the background.  I think it turned out cute.  I like the little birdie in the tree... even though it's not a partridge in a pear tree, more like a cardinal in a pine.. it still had me singing the song ♪♪♪

SNOWFLAKE ORNAMENT CARD

Snowflake Ornament Card

Hello friends, Today is going to be super busy for me.  The hubby took a vacation day so to take me to the store for some Christmas shopping.  I can't really do such things on my own (yet)  I have hope that some day I will be independent again.  Hallelujah!!

Today's card I used the Flurry of wishes stamp set from stamping up.  I cut a circle in the top of the card so that it looks like the ornament is hanging out all by itself when the card is open.  I added a few little snowflake stickers for some sparkle and there you have it. My version of an ornament card.

On the right side here you can see when the card stands open it will let the blue snowflake have a lovely appearance of just flying solo.  The twine was a bit tricky to stick on there, and by the time I was done, this card making gal had glue all over her fingers and desk top.  Oh the JOY of stamping.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION #GDP015

Birthday Celebration #GDP015
Today I made a card to celebrate my daughter's birthday, which is a few days after Christmas.   And since our little lady moved away from home I decided to make a window card so she can put a little tealight  behind the vellum and it will glow like a birthday candle.   It can be her little night light, hence the starry background.  I  used the stamping up cupcake party set and coordinating punch,  a few other misc. stamps and of course I thought I needed to add a cute little star brad and some twine. I'm still learning the less is more concept.  haha
I  am pleased to say that I also entered this card in the Celebrate  challenge at http://www.global-design-project.com/

I tried to take a picture so you could see the glow in the window scene.  Well, at least to get an idea of what it looks like.  I think it's darling .

SILENT NIGHT

Silent Night
I am happy to say that I mailed out 47 Christmas cards today.. a few more to go and I should be done.  I wonder if people keep them or toss them?   I love Christmas cards. I wish I would have kept every singe one since we have been married, but when we moved down here, I decided to let go of about 10 years worth :(  shucks.

Today's card features stamps using the stamping up Tree trimming set and Wonderland set.  Oh  I almost forgot the Decorative pine set too.  I took a little from each set to make this spectacular card, and then used a little sparkly twine for the ornament string, and a few pearls to top it off.

I entered this card in the challenge at:

FROSTED

Frosted
Today's card had to be quick and very simple, as I'm in need to beat the clock on mailing out my Christmas cards.. yikes..
Time is running out.
I used the Stampin Up Lovely as a tree set, and the words are from the Wonderland set.  I used a little sparkle wire ribbon, and added a brad snowflake to tie it all together nicely.

Thank you so much for taking time during the busy Christmas
season to stop by my blog.

GINGERBREAD HOUSE

Gingerbread House
Oh golly, I'm laughing to myself again thinking this is pretty much my example of how to make  a gingerbread house. Stamp it. Now don't get me wrong I have tried a few different gingerbread houses.. from graham crackers to the kits, but I must admit I have not tried the one that might actually work for me.  The pretzel one, you know where it's more like a ginger log cabin. I mean that can't be to difficult, I liked playing with Lincoln logs so this could be the answer.. haha.. but for now I'll stick with my little stamp set.  Decorate it with sequins and a bit of glitter, and there ya have it.

Traffic on my blog has been really low/slow the past few days.  I'm assuming this might be normal especially during the Christmas season.  (this is my first Christmas having a blog) I'm hoping you will share my blog  with your friends, so my little garden will continue to grow.  I sure appreciate your help, and support.

OUT OF THE BOX.. COMES A PURPLE CHRISTMAS CARD

Out of the box comes a purple Christmas card
The day arrived, many tears shed, our youngest moved out.  My goodness I just got use to our oldest being on his own, and now we start all over again,  I had no idea it would be this difficult.  Our dog is a bit blue too, wondering what is going on.  I wish I knew exactly what is going through his little dog head.  I know he knows things are different again.

Any ways, with all that said, my daughter gave me this nail glitter that I used in the card today.  I went extremely out of the box with colors.  Which is kind of a funny statement to me, since I tried to make a white (light) box to take better pictures.  So in reality I went in the box.  *laughing.

I'm kind of stuck in the traditional colors of Christmas, so this is living on the edge for me..haha     BUT.. it matched the purple nail glitter and there ya have it.  I used the Lots of Joy set from Stampin Up  and I think it turned out lovely, and the sentiment goes perfect for wishing my kids lots of Joy in there journey.

MOOSE WITH A SPRUCE

Moose with a Spruce
Yesterday was a bit busy, hence the no posting for my blog, shucks the first time I missed a day since I started on Oct. 22.   so my reasoning:  Our son came home to say goodbye to our daughter who is moving a few states away tomorrow.. it's going to be difficult for us all.  I just wanted to spend as much time as possible with them... stamping can wait.

So today, before the baking begins here,  I thought I'd post this darling little card.  I quick stamped and colored my little moose with a spruce which my daughter affectionately titled for me.  What a catchy little caption.   I added a few sequins for the Christmas bulbs .. and it's as cute as can be.

I tried to make the lighting a bit better for the picture.  I will have to practice around a bit more with this old camera so the cards show up better.   I also tried to play around with the background on my blog, so it will be easier for viewers to read.  Let me know what you think.  Your comments are always appreciated.

CHRISTMAS CARDS

Hello friends, I posted 3 cards today because I have to work at getting my Christmas cards out in the mail, and wanted to make sure I had a picture of them all before they go out the door.
I also received some wonderful information on how to take better pictures, hopefully I will be able to practice a few of the techniques that were brought to my attention so that the cards I showcase will look dazzling

CHRISTMAS TICKET #GDP014

Christmas Ticket #GDP014

Good Morning today's card I made for a challenge

at:
http://www.global-design-project.com/

I used the stampin up "That's the Ticket" set, it worked lovely for this card.  I found those little glitter specks at a local store and thought they would add a nice little glittery background.  The little clip on the Christmas ticket.. Ohh. my goodness that's my favorite part of the card,  I think it is super cute.
