Fall Deer/Mountain Scene

Inspired by the colors of fall, I began playing with my aqua brush and some glossy photo paper, since I don't have watercolor paper.   It didn't blend smoothly but I do enjoy the brush stroke look.  I just pretend I intended it to look that way.  I then used my stazon ink to stamp the mountains and sentiment.  I stamped the deer on separate soft neutral colored paper and then cut them out.  Which is not my strong suit but I enjoy doing it for the most part.  I like leaving a bit of an edge around what I'm trimming.  It seems to give it a better look then cutting to closely to the stamped image.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Color Challenge #rrcb50~Fall SCS

Today I made a card for my SCS (Scripture Card Sunday)  I'm posting it today because I need to play catch up here. I've been busy making cards but not blogging about them.  Yikes.  So a wee bit behind, but I wanted to make sure my Scripture card got out for Sunday tomorrow.  I would like to enter this card in the fall color challenge at: Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.  I had a lovely card all designed and stamped, but then after researching I realized the stamp set was not a year old yet.  My goodness how one loses track of years, or in this case months.  haha.  I'll have to show case that card later.  I'm sure you'll be able to pick it out because of the fall colors.  Hint:  it will have deer too.
Now onto the card at hand.  I used the 2007 Baroque  Motifs for the background image and the verse is from a 2005 set named, All I have seen.   The butterfly is a die cut where I hid a bit of yellow to brighten up the picture.  I really like how the little rhinestone adds a great deal of bling to it.
Thank you so much for spending some time with me here today.
Hope you will stop back soon.

PPA324~Sympathy Card

My goodness it is  sad to see Pals paper arts come to a close. (insert tears) This is the lovely blog that gave me my very first badge for a card.  You can check it out under my commended cards section.  So in honor of their last sketch challenge at:  Pals Paper Arts  I made a sympathy card.  I thought it appropriate.  Parting is such sad sorrow.   I wish all the team members the best in their future card making adventures.
The card  I made today used the Stampin up artistically Asian set along with a script sentiment from Lawn fawn.   I also used my dots embossing folder.

As true to my blog I had to post a picture of my little squirrel friend munching away on a piece of bread I gave him..  They're getting pretty friendly these fellas.
Thank you so much for spending some time with me.  Stop back again soon.

SSC138 ~Christmas Bells

I was so excited to play along with the sketch challenge at: Sunday Stamps.  I don't think I ever use the right side of my card nearly enough and this was the perfect opportunity to explore that option.  I also included a picture of the advent tree project I had been working on the past few days.  You can read more about that in my previous post. So, you see I had left over gold acetate paper and thought it would look lovely as a background on today's featured card.  I used black ribbon to enhance the side panel, and embossed the bells in gold (note two bells for the two sides challenge). I also added a golden bow with a brad to the top of the bells.  I debated whether or not to add the Sentiment.  I think it would have been lovely without too, but you know me, still working on the less is more concept. haha   So it's added.

Thank you so much for spending at my blog.

Advent Tree

I've been so busy working on this lovely advent tree that I have not been able to respond to all the awesome kind comments you have been leaving.  So I just want to take a moment to say thank you so much.  It truly makes me so happy.

Now onto the advent tree, I came across this idea on the Facebook Stamp Cafe, and asked Melissa for directions to which she led me to her Youtube station.  Please check it out here: Melissa's Advent Tree  her tree is gorgeous.   I just don't have any designer paper so I went with 2 sheets of acetate gold paper from the Michael's store, and just plain greet to resemble a tree.  I also don't have punches of the required size so I had to make do with what I did have.  Which also meant I had to write the numbers by hand in the circle, so not nearly as nice but I still love it.   I made a  4 little stars using yellow glitter paper and glued them together for a 3 dimensional look.
Do you have any suggestions on what to put in the little boxes?    This particular tree is for my daughter and her boyfriend, I'll be making one for my son and his girlfriend too, but most likely different colors.

I also had to include a picture of my little squirrel pal, enjoying some left over french fries.
Thank you so much for spending time with me here at my blog.

HSS Sketch Challenge #249 ~My 257th Post Celebrating MY Year Blog Anniversary

Thank you so very much dear friends.  WE did it!  I feel like it's a miracle because nothing else can explain what happened, but I officially reached 50 followers on my ONE year blog anniversary.  It totally blessed my heart  Thank you just don't seem like enough.  It truly made my day.  Even my facebook page got another person liking(following) THANK YOU!
I made this care to say thank you to everyone, and I thought I would work it into the sketch challenge at:  Hand Stamped Sentiments.   I tried to stick as close as possible to the sketch, which was difficult being I have no doilies, or oval dies.  So I improvised.  I hope it's still acceptable.  I really like the double look of the Thanks sentiment and bow.
Thank you for spending time with me here.
I look forward to another year of sharing cards/projects with you all.  It's been a lovely journey so far, meeting so many fellow bloggers has been a huge blessing.

SSC137 WOODLAND WARMTH~Leaves

I made a card for the color challenge at: Sunday Stamps Blog  I used an embossing folder on the foil like paper for the background.  The leaves are dies from lawn fawn, and I believe the sentiment is from Stampin up.  I also added a little acorn button that worked lovely on the bouquet of leaves. A little brown ribbon and bow on the center finishes it off.

I must say the other day while crafting on a lovely Christmas project for my daughter, I dropped my cutter bee scissor's right on the floor and bent the tip.. can you believe that? straight down they went and it happened in slow motion, oooh I was upset.  Then I reached for my ink a wee bit later to which my fumble fingers dropped and it landed on my arm, inking me.  That's when I knew it was time to step away from the craft desk.  haha~ Has anything like this ever happened to anyone else?  I would love to hear your stories.
Thank you for visiting my blog. Still hoping for 50 followers by my one year blog anniversary Oct. 22nd.

Thanksgiving Acorns

A lovely Thanksgiving card is what we have here, using stamps from stampin up.  I like how the twine on the side makes it feel all rustic like☺  The background paper is a sheet I've had on hand for years.  I didn't want to cover all the words on it, so it works lovely here.
I also had to share one of my new favorite candies.  Hubby brought this home from the store for me the other evening.  I love caramel apples, and he thought this would be "sweet" and it's wonderful.
Thank you for for visiting my blog.  Hope to see you again real soon.

Happy Halloween

Well, it's been rather cool here. The colors are brilliant but not lasting long as the leaves tumble to the ground.  I love walking through leaves, and catching them as they fall, that's the best.  When the kids were little we use to always play that little game, I'm not so good at it anymore since I walk using trekking poles, but the memories are grand.

I made another Halloween card for today.  After stepping back and taking a look at the card I realized I should have lined up the web washi tape with the green ribbon on the side.
Here is another picture of my little squirrel buddy, he is sneaking off with a cracker.
Thank you for visiting today.  I hope you stop back soon.

MOJO470~Spooky Spider

I have a Halloween card today that I made for the sketch challenge at: Mojo Monday Blog.  The big silver circle is die cut from glitter paper, I had a vision of that being the moon, then I tried to cut a few little bats to fill in the empty space.  The spider is an individual one that I purchased from a local store.  The sentiment is from Stampin up.  I used that lovely washi tape again and think it's fabulous and it went well with the silver glitter paper.  The pumpkin is wooden and adds a bit of dimension to the card.
I am getting closer to my blog anniversary Oct. 22nd.  I don't think I will make my goal of reaching 50 followers by then.  But I'm so happy and honored with the followers of my humble little blog.  It truly makes my day to see the comments.  I wish I could mail you all a personal thank you card.
Thank you for stopping by and spending some time with me.

SSC137 WOODLAND WARMTH~Forest

Rainy weather means no outside time for me, so extra time for stamping, and since it's a stress reliever it all works out wonderfully.    I wanted to add another card to the amazing color challenge at: Sunday Stamps Blog  I used an embossing folder for the background to make it look like the deer was in the shadows.  Then I popped up the little log and squirrel, both from Lawn Fawn, as is the leaves and the little bird resting on the tree branch.

HP, my pal decided it be best if he just lay in my way of walking and not move so I snapped a picture of him too.  He's such a sweetheart, who can resist those cute eyes.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog.

It would please me so much to have you follow my blog.  I'm trying to reach 50 followers by Oct. 22, that will be my one year blog anniversary ☺  I might succeed at this goal, thanks to all of you.

SSC137 Woodland Warmth Christmas

I'm so excited to play along with the woodland warmth color challenge at: Sunday Stamps Blog.  These are some of my favorite colors.  I had a really tough time not adding red to my card.  I think it would have looked lovely, guess that's why it's a challenge.  (haha)  I used an embossing folder for the background and Festival of Trees stampin up set along with the Jolly Christmas stamp set.  I added a couple brads for some dimension.  I only popped up the reindeer who I thought was having a "Jolly" time flying over the trees.

I also wanted to share a picture (again) of my little buddy.  I really do think he's smiling.
Thank you for stopping by.

MOJO469~Halloween

Hello All, Today I made a Halloween card for the sketch challenge at: Mojo Monday Blog.

After I saw the sketch I knew right away that I wanted the bigger circle to have a pumpkin face, so that is what I did after I embossed it.  I also knew that the smaller half circle needed to be a reflection of the moon/clouds.  I found some really cute spider web

washi tape in the dollar section at Target, that made my day.  I think it's a cute finishing touch of sparkle to the card.

I had to include these two pictures of my little squirrel buddies.. they make me smile.  I think he looks so much like a prairie dog the way he was standing here.  Perhaps he's posing for his pictures now.
Thank you for stopping by.

PPA321~HEDGEHOG HAPPINESS

This card was very out of character for me, since these are colors I would not have normally chosen to put together, so  with that being said I will be  entering it in the color challenge at: Pals Paper Arts  Not that it is my best work at all, but just the fact that I tried to match the colors to the challenge.  I do like the placement of the sequins and sentiments.
Please feel free to browse my blog, also it would please me so much to have you follow me.  I'm trying to reach 50 followers by Oct. 22, that will be my one year blog anniversary ☺

HSS ColorChallenge #248~THANKFUL FOR YOU

Well, golly I thought I would try my hand with the color challenge at: Hand Stamped Sentiments they are using real red, Bermuda bay and pool party.  I think it turned out ok, even though I didn't have the exact colors I tried to match them as close as I possible could.  The little mice are from lawn fawn and the sentiment and drawing board are from stampin up.

PRETTY POINSETTIA

This lovely Christmas card using the poinsettia builder punch from stampin up is super awesome.   I used glitter paper to make it sparkle, and gosh I think it's wonderful.  I used pop dots to make it appear more 3D however, it's quite tall and probably won't mail nicely so this card in particular will have to be hand delivered.

I snapped a picture of my little squirrel buddy eating a chip I left out for him.  His little paws are so cute grasping it.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

FOXY CHRISTMAS FOREST

Using the embossing folder creates such a nice background for this sweet little critter as he celebrates the Christmas season.  He even decorated the forest☺haha, seriously though I think making Christmas cards are my favorite cards to make.
Thanks for visiting my blog.

EMBOSSED FALL

Well, I got in the mood to make a few fall cards, perhaps because the temperature is falling a bit here in WI.  We had to turn the furnace on last night.  We try to hold out as long as possible, but when you're freezing it's not fun.  There is absolutely no stamping involved in this card.  WOW..just an embossing folder and some ribbon, but still I think it turned out lovely.

I was looking at my cute little "Christmas tree" in my yard, when I took a closer look, there hiding out munching away is a squirrel.   These little guys are quite the characters, the other day one actually came right up to the screen door on the patio, and acted like he wanted to come in and visit.  HP (my dog) thought that would be fun too ☺

AUTUMN

I really like this  Lovely as a tree stamp set from stampin up.  I used a plain little block stamp to create the background and then stamped the trees in a deeper color.  I  also like the placement of the word "Autumn"

ELEPHANT SMILES

This card was made using my 2 new stamp sets from stampin up.  I made it for my mom who just went down to Madison for testing to see if she will be a  good candidate for a kidney transplant, she loves elephants so I thought it quite fitting to encourage her and send a smile too.  I like the placement of the sequins on this card.

BLUE BIRD THANK YOU

I made this card for the woman I bought the stamp set from. I had the bird punch but not the set.  So I was very happy to purchase this, even though it's a bit older I think it works lovely and can't wait to play with colors and make an array of colorful birds.  Perhaps a cardinal for a Christmas card. I used gold glimmer paint on the flower petals and of course smudged it while working so hence the washi tape came in handy to cover those little unsightly mistakes.
Thank you so much for stopping by.

SCS

I haven't posted in a few days, because well to be quite honest I felt that after my last card there was no way I could top the grand reviews I received on my facebook page and Stamp Cafe, so I was feeling a bit inadequate.  However, I told myself after a few days that's just foolishness and that stamping makes me feel good.  So my dear friends I will be posting a few of my projects I've been working on.  I start with this card being it has a lovely scripture verse on it and today is SCS (Scripture Card Sunday)  The colorful daisies on the side our actually a roll of duct tape I found on sale, and knew it would come in super handy.  In fact I wish I had~ had that when I taped my one Bible together.. I used  bright green (love the color) but I really love the daisies here.
Any ways I think it makes the card pop in color.
Hope you have a Blessed Sunday.
Thank you for stopping by.

Fall View from my Window Card

Today in honor of World Card Making Day I chose to make a fall festive window to say thank you to all my followers I appreciate the support and kind words, it means so much to me.

I used the Stampin up set sheltering tree, and a window die to create the cute outdoor picture.  It reminded me of my son, doing some chores raking and then decide instead to go biking, because that's just way more fun.  I used an embossing leaf folder in the background and added a little brad for some shine.  I was a bit concerned that on all days (world card making day) I couldn't get the creative juices flowing, but I'm thankful I was able pull it together for this card.

I also thought I'd share one more thing in honor of today.
Hope it makes ya smile
Thank you for stopping by and double thanks for all you sweet new followers, that sure is grand.  I might just make my goal of reaching 50 followers before Oct. 22 my one year blog anniversary.
