Sketch #350 Heartfelt Stampin Up Valentine's Day Card

Hello Friends.   I made quite a commitment this year to finish off Bible studies I've started and  neglected over the years.  I truly love to study my Bible, I just set myself up to become overwhelmed by starting many different books.  I thought to myself should I receive a miracle of healing I don't want these years to be a waste of me not using my time wisely for the LORD.  So after a morning of reading I wanted to squeeze in some time for crafting.  I should also mention I'm in the process of making wedding cards for a friend.  Gosh I hope they turn out to be everything she ever wanted.  A quick story with that.  My friend happened to start off as my water therapist after surgery, and then I found out she was a photographer so she did my daughter's senior pictures and then 2 years ago, my daughter's wedding.  So I'm honored to make invites for her.  Just hope I can make them super fabulous.  I've only made one other set of invites and that was for our daughter, and that was a labor of love.  They were a tri-fold invite with inserts and then to  finish it off we wax sealed them.   One more reason I'm thankful my daughter had a small wedding.  I can't believe in a couple weeks they will be married two years already.  Oh goodness I'm rabbit trailing with thoughts and sharing so much.
Onto the card.  Today i made this card for the challenge at:

The stamp set featured in this card today is:
Stampin Up:  Heartfelt
I decided to use a deeper color then red for this lovely Valentine card.  I also used a piece of vellum that I had in my stash.   I punched it out to lay over the heart so you could see the fancy background of the stamped image.  I then pop dotted a little heart on top to give it some dimension.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.
And for listening to my ramblings.

FMS416~ Wonderful Year, Cheers to That, Stampin Up

I decided to let the DSP do most of the work for me on this card.  I didn't have the energy to even look at my stamps.  But yet I wanted to stamp.  haha.. oh the struggle is real.   I suppose because I had a little outing today with my daughter.  We went to Barnes and Noble book store.  Such a delight, but also very exhausting for me.  I have a hard time with standing.  Any ways I really wanted to make a card, and I found this wonderful challenge to play along with:
The stamp sets that I did use are:

Sketch #349 Merry Moose, Stampin Up, Ginger Bread Men. Merry Christmas

Hello, I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas, and the New year is off and running to a fabulous start.  I'm still in the Christmas Spirit here.  So I decided to make a Christmas card for the sketch at:

Now I had envisioned this card to look a lot more lovelier then it does.    The ribbon was what sold me on going with a gingerbread theme.  I  thought it would tie in lovely, almost resembling the icing for on ginger bread cookies.    The  stamps used in this card are  some dollar stamps that I purchased ages ago at a local craft store.  Perhaps that's why the images didn't turn out to swell.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up:  Merry Moose.

Next up is a picture of HP, with his new Christmas boots, it's was quite a hoot when my husband and son first put them on Hunter for Christmas.  He wouldn't move, then when he walked it was  more like a gallop.  Any ways he still don't like putting them on, but walks much better now and is getting use to them.  IT makes paw clean up way easier when he comes back inside.  He has a bit of a sassy look here as he waits with his front paws on the back step to be let back in the house.  Such a little cutie.

Next up is this cute little gift card my kids gave me for Christmas.  Today I was able to go with my daughter and get some books.  I'm most excited.  Of course putting me in a book store, to which I forgot my reading glasses, is like putting me in a stampin up store.  Oh my gosh if my legs could hold up, I'd be there all day.  Thank goodness my kids understand and are readers themselves.  I did have to put one book back.  Just didn't want to overspend the budget even with my delightful gift card for which I'm so grateful.  So next time I will get The Autobiography of Henry VIII.    I did get quite the collection.  I have to finish with my book now, America's First Daughter.

Well I'm going to try and work a bit harder on selling Stampin Up products this year, so you might see me post things a bit more.  Since I can't work right now  I thought this might help me out with the supplies for my hobby.  I know I sure would appreciate the business.

If you have any helpful tips that would be grand.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

#TGIFC244~Happy New Year, Cheers to That, Number of Years, Stampin Up

I made this fun New Year's Card for the challenge at:

I love how sparkly this card turned out.  As you can see from the many pictures, I was trying to get creative so I could capture the way the light plays off of this card.  It's fantastic.  I think my favorite is the top one where I put it in my Christmas tree.  In fact I think next year I will decorate the tree with Christmas cards I make before sending them out.  What a festive Idea.
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Cheers To That
Stampin Up:  Number of Years
and one solo stampin up : Happy New Year

I added black card stock behind the numbers to give them some shadow, and then I pop dotted the numbers for dimension.  I cut out the little champagne  glasses and dropped on some glossy accents.  To make it appear like real liquid. By the way have you ever used a saber to open your champagne ?   It's sounds rather exciting.

I'm also including a few pictures of the snowy weather we are having here today in WI.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Sketch #348~Happy Birthday to You, Birthday Wit, Stampin Up

Hello my friends.  It's been four days since my last post.  YIKES.   All I can say is that's probably a good thing.  My darling children were home for Christmas, and kept me busy, and we celebrated my daughter's birthday on Friday hence this lovely birthday card.

I have to admit this is not the usual style I would make for her, but I wanted to try and match the sketch at: Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

I made a square card, however, I flipped the corners where the pine cones are and chose to use a sentiment.

The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Happy Birthday To You
Stampin Up:  Birthday Wit

I added a lot of pearl paint to the cake to make it look like authentic frosting.  Then I added a line of beading along the cake plate base to fancy it up a little more.   Finished it off with some navy blue jewels for the center of the flowers.   I chose these colors for her because her wedding colors were navy, and I thought she would like it.

However, on the inside that was the hit, my daughter is the queen of puns and quick wit,   So she loved that sentiment and she loves llama's so it all worked out.  I even stuck a wobbler on the llama so he wiggled.

I'm also including a picture of our kiddos.  At the ice rink down town on our Daughter's birthday.
It was a lovely time.  I of course can't do anything but take pictures and laugh, but it was fun.  I'm so thankful to my kids for including me.  The night was magical. The sky was gorgeous and these young people are delightful.

I hope you all had a blessed Christmas celebrating with family and friends.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Sketch #347~Star Of Light, Stampin Up

I made this Star of Wonder card for the challenge at:

The stamp set used in this card is:
Stampin Up:  Star of Light

It's hard to see the color of the DSP, but it's a deep burgundy with gold accents.  I took two pictures again, one with light and the other by a window.   I added gold ribbon for the horizontal parts in the sketch.    My star was a bit too big for the center square, but I decided to layer the sentiment over the top of it.  I think it turned out ok.  I'm not a huge fan of gold but in this case it worked well with the burgundy color.
I really love the sentiment on the inside of the card.

Now for the chewy boxes in the picture.  One might think HP is quite spoiled, however in each of those boxes were very little items.   Cracks me up they didn't pack it all together in the bigger box.  Which actually is a toy for our daughter and son-in-law's cat, Charlie.
Any ways it was so cute when the fedex dropped off the box and HP went crazy barking, I'm sure they thought he is one pampered pooch and knows his boxes from Santa have arrived.

I snapped a picture of him by the tree playing with one of his tennis balls.  He is such a cutie.  His sore paw is getting better each day and the fur is starting to grow back.

Thank you for taking time during the busy Christmas season to visit my blog.
