Card #54 for 2025

Dearest blog readers,
We could use some prayer for our little puppy.
Patriot had surgery the 22nd, and his recovery
is not going so very well.  Just this afternoon
his paw was bleeding again, so we had to bring out
the sedation medicine to calm him down.  It's been
a long difficult week with the little one.
I'm actually surprised I was able to make a card.
However, when I found our my dear friend's grandma
passed away, I knew I could count on the Atlantic sketch
challenges to have a great sketch to use.  So I will
enter this card in the challenge.  I am pretty sure my
dear friend and her Grandma would be pleased I did.
They are card makers.
The stamps I used are:
Stampin Up:
First Frost
Flourishing Phrases
The ink is:
Blackberry bliss
Mossy Meadow
I wanted to keep the card soft and sweet being
it's a sympathy note.  I did add a little sparkle,
because I think all Grandma's deserve a little sparkle.
Below are a few pictures of Patriot pup
Finally got some rest yesterday.
We tried to protect the paw, he's not
liking that at all.  He ripped it off in seconds.
The verse I chose for this card is:
Matt 5:4 NKJV
Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.

storybook life
sweet songbirds
I stamped the buffalo check background, die cut out
the white piece of card stock, and stamped the images.
Then layered the sentiment and added a few embellishments
to the musical notes.
Here's the little fella,  Please keep Patriot pup in
your prayers, as he has to have his surgery on Tuesday,
also for it not to be as expensive as they think it could be.
We have quite a few bills piling up on us here.
Thank you kindly.
The verse I chose for this card is:
Luke 24:6NKJV
He is not here, but is risen!
Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,

Card #52 for 2025

Dearest blog readers,
Today is Maundy Thursday.
I don't think as a child I fully understood the
significance of today.  But I do recall with fond memories
how the Pastor of our little Baptist church would do things.
I believe we had a supper prepared by the church ladies,
followed by a sermon and then the part that sticks out so
clearly in my memory is the wooden cross with nails.
We were given pieces of paper to write down our sins, and then
one by one we'd go up and pierce the paper on the nails.
What a significant meaning to my heart as a believer,
Christ on the cross dying for my sins.
Here is a picture of the tapestry that has been in our family
for years.  It was on my grandma's living room wall.
The story goes, that grand-dad purchased it from a man down
at the tavern he visited.  The rest is history.

I will enter this card in the challenge at:
My card was simple stamping, and yet so much fun
because I felt like I was dying Easter eggs but without
the mess and cleanup.  I really like how it turned out.
I might make a few more for next year so I'm prepared.
I ran out of time this year.  I don't know why I wait to the last
minute for holidays, and then I never have enough cards.
Patriot pup will have his surgery April 22nd.  Please keep
him in your prayers, for a safe procedure, he has to have
to incisions.  and that the cost will not be as bad as they say.
Thank you kindly.
The verse I chose for this card is:

Luke 22:19-20NKJV
And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying,
“This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying,
“This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.

Dearest blog readers, Happy Palm Sunday.
I will enter this card in the challenge at:
The stamp sets I used were:
Stampin UP:
Inspiring Iris
Work of Art
Storybook Life
Very straightforward stamping here.  I didn't
have time for much else today.  But I do
need to mail out a few Easter Cards.  So that's
my choice for this sketch.
Patriot Pup posing for a Sunday Picture.
Yesterday I was able to weed out
the garden bed where our two Springers
are laid to rest.  It looks so much better now.
The verse I chose for today's card is:
John 12:13KJV
Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried,
Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Card #50 for 2025

Dearest blog readers,
I'm a lot crabby today.  I suppose this will sound
rather spoiled, but our wifi just keeps going in and out
all day long.  I know there has been awful conditions here
so I'm truly grateful we have heat/water and power, except
the internet service just is on the fritz.  But goodness gracious
it can test a gal's patience, from phone to tv to printer, etc.  I sound
awfully spoiled.  Forgive me for that.  I'm grateful.  But I'm human.
I made a card with plants again.  I tried dusting my plants this
morning, and well that's quite a bit of work, and Patriot was no
help jumping at each leaf, so I just gave up until he is in his kennel.
I decided a plant card seems more pleasant.  I will enter it in the challenge
The stamp set I used in this card is:
Rubber Stamps: Aloe there.
I don't know where I got this set from, perhaps amazon.
I stamped, colored and cut out the images, found some DSP
that seems to be pleasing for the plants and then began the layering.
I love puns, and plants, so this set was perfect,
I do remember thinking that when I purchased it.
Patriot was getting impatient with me and wanted
to see out the window.
He finally figured out how to do it without
me lifting the blinds.  He loves to stand and
watch the squirrels.  He also nabs my hanging
flower that's to the left of him, but not in this picture.
The verse I chose for this card is:
Gen 1:29NKJV
And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which
is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.
