Sketch #326~You Always Deliver, Stampin Up

I made this card for the challenge at:

The stamp set featured in this card is:
Stampin Up:  You Always Deliver

I was going to color in the little mail dude with brown to make him a UPS driver, however I thought there was a bit to much brown going on, so I chose to do the traditional Postal Service color.   This was a fun card to make.

I will share a few pictures and a link of the "Big Boy"  train.   My kids and I went to see it.  Quite a thrill I must say.   This old steam engine brought tears to my eyes,  I tend to get emotional over things, but as I stood there waiting with my sticks to support me and my kids it was wonderful.   My kids have grown up next to railroad tracks their whole life, and the past 18 years we have lived next to a train yard, so never a quiet moment, but this old steam engine was a delight.    As you can see everyone had their smartphones up in the air to snap a picture, I held my 35mm camera, and my son commented on the fact that all this fancy technology wasn't even around when this amazing train was built, yet the train still runs, and things of today just don't seem to last long.

CTS #331 Dragonfly Dreams, Daisy Lane, Stampin up

I took a vote from my friends to see which card they liked better, and it turns out the majority including my husband likes the dragonfly best.  So that's the one I will submit to the challenge at:
The stamp set featured in this card is:  Stampin Up:  Dragonfly Dreams.

I also included the runner up card chosen by my friends just to showcase it here on my blog.

I'm happy to report that I went to the doctor today (again) for my finger.  This time they were able to get the thorn out, so hopefully it will start healing.  I'm also hoping that they got the whole thing.   Quite the ordeal for a barberry thorn.   I posted a picture of my finger in the last post.  We went from thinking we could do it, to seeing if it would work it's way out, then to the doctor because of an infection, apparently plant material, thorns are full of bacteria. UGH.. so on an Rx for a few days, then the finger started turning purple, and finally today a different doctor said we are going to numb it, slice it open a bit and if we can't come out with it, off to an ultra sound and hand specialist.  So folks.. I'm thanking the Good Lord they retrieved it, and they say they are certain they got it all.  I hope so.   Moral of the story:  Wear garden gloves.  😉

Sketch #325~Everyday Expressions, Stampin Up, Sweet Scoops, Stampin Up

It's a beautiful warm summer day here in WI.   I'm one of those rare people I suppose that really love the heat, and humidity.  Especially now with nerve damage in my legs, the heat is comforting.   Nevertheless, I was dreaming of ice cream, so the challenge at:

Was PERFECT.  I saw Three scoops of icecream without a doubt. Leave it to me to think of treats when flowers are pictured in the sketch.  So I quickly made this little card to enter it.
The stamp sets featured in today's card are:
Stampin Up:  Sweet Scoops
Stampin Up:  Everyday Expressions
Both are older sets but I love them.

I'm also including a picture of my finger.  Two weeks ago this on Sunday, the barberry bush in our yard got me good.   In fact I even went to the walk in clinic because it was infected, well now folks, it's still swollen with a lump and turning purple.  My goodness, all this from a thorn, and we can't even be sure it's still in there.   I must say they are wickedly long, and my husband spent all afternoon removing the bushes from our yard so the dog and I stay clear of them.  What a sweetheart.

CTS #330~Enjoy Life, Stampin Up, You Got This, Simon Says

I haven't made a card for a few days now,  this barberry thorn has posed quite a problem in my left ring finger.  One week, three days and it's quite swollen, red, and very painful.    My gosh, who knew a person could have this much trouble over a thorn.  grrrr.

Any ways the card I made this evening was very simple,  and didn't cause to much pain to make.

I will submit it to the challenge at:

The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Enjoy Life
Simon Says:  You Got This

I'm also including a couple pictures of HP, he got a hair cut and was enjoying some outside time yesterday. Image may contain: dog and outdoor

Sketch #324~ Pressed Flowers, Stampin Up, Simons Says, You Got This

Sometime I purchase a stamp set thinking of all the lovely cards I can make, then I get one that just sets me back in my chair and I stare at it like, "what am I going to do with this?"   So today as I pulled out the stampin up, Pressed flowers, I stared at it, I stamped with it, I sat back and checked out other card images with it on pinterest, but nothing was jumping up at me.   I even thought about using the smaller stamps to make a delightful background instead of the embossed brick, but honestly it was so busy it made me dizzy.    Plus I'm not to crafty with the marker coloring on the stamps to get the two toned look, however I didn't just want to stamp it one solid color, because I'm not so creative thinking the stems could be orange 😉  Well folks that's the best I could do for now with this set.  I'm not giving up on it.  It might just take a lot more practice.    Oh, and before I forget, the sentiments is a Simon says stamp, You got this.
I'm going to submit this card to the challenge at:

CAS Game #144~So Santa, Stampin Up

I made this fun card for the challenge at:

I love to make Christmas cards, so this was a perfect chance to play along.
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Stampin Up:  So Santa
After stamping and coloring the image I added a bit of liquid pearl paint to Santa's trim.  I think it turned out super cute.

I also want to thank Lucie, from Luciegcards for letting me know what those fabulous stickers were that I've been searching for.   They were indeed the  Stampendous Class A Peel Dot Sparkler Sticker, and unavailable, I did find some different color ones on Amazon, but Thank you so much for letting me know.   I truly appreciate that.

CTS #329~That's the Ticket, Ready to Pop, Stampin Up

Today I decided to bring out a stamp set that I very rarely use.    It's from Stampin Up, called That's the Ticket.  I thought it would work lovely for the sketch challenge at:
I combined it with the stampin up, Ready to Pop set, so I could have a few pieces of popcorn around the tickets, symbolizing movie house time.    Looking at it now I wish I had made the tickets in a soft suede or crumb cake ink color, but nevertheless, I didn't want to rip the card apart for that, because it's bright, cheery, clean and simple.

Week 347: CITRUS~Make Lemonade, Lawn Fawn, Tart and Tangy, Stampin Up

I will be submitting the top card to the challenge at:

It has the most white space.   I always seem to make two cards lately, perhaps I can't make my mind up, or I'm hoping for a better #2 card.    Anyways, I really like how the glossy accents makes the liquid lemonade appear so real.  I also added a dab of clear wink of stella to the lemons to give them some shine too.
The stamp set featured in this card is:  Lawn Fawn:  Make Lemonade.

The lemons on the second card I made are from Stampin Up:  Tart and Tangy.

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.

I will submit this card to the challenge at:

The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Fabulous Flamingo
Stampin Up: Part of my Story
Stampin Up:  Hello Friend

I'm also including a picture of my firecracker gifts I made for the kids.   I saw it on stamp cafe, and I just wanted to give it a try, even though our kids are all young adults.  My husband only got two tubes so we will have to get two more tomorrow.  I just wanted to see if it would work out ok.    I used mentos candy and then just decorated with a  piece of twine for the fuse, and lovely red, white, blue paper and washi tape.

Here is the picture of these lovely little stickers.  I won them awhile ago, and they are my absolute FAVORITE little embellishments, they lay flat and adhere nicely, it's almost like they are two -toned, with a gold rim and then a little sparkle silver inside.  I am hoping that by posting it on my blog frequently someone will be able to tell me what they are, and where to purchase them.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

TMS #510~ Perennial Birthday, Everything Amazing, Stampin Up

I will submit this card to the challenge at:
I flipped the sketch on the side, and went with straight edges instead of scallops, being I don't have and scallop dies for such a card.
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Perennial Birthday
Stampin Up:  Everything Amazing.

I'm still searching for a clue into those lovely little stickers I used here on this card today.  So I will post them again below.
