Snow~globe Christmas Card

Well folks, if you read my previous post,
you knew I'd be adding this card for the
same sketch.  Although I only submitted
the fall card to the challenge.
I really do love this layout.  Like I said in
my previous post, it reminds me of a snowglobe.
I use to collect them growing up.  I've always
been so drawn to these miniature worlds inside
glass globes.  Any ways this card reflects it perfectly.
I even embossed the background with
one of my snowflake folders.  Then
then I inked up a blue circle and die cut it
out to glue down on the snowflakes.  I
stamped the Christmas house and trees,
and then cut them out for my little snowglobe.
I added a few snowflake embellishments to
finish it off.  I think the sentiment is so clean
and simple looking.
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin up:  Night Divine, Peace to you,
Still Scenes
SO if you had to choose between my last card
and this one, which one do you think I
should have submitted to the challenge?

The verse I chose for this Christmas card is:
Luke 1:14 KJV
 And thou shalt have joy and gladness;
and many shall rejoice at his birth.

Hello Fall Card

We sure had a burst of color change the
past few days.  It inspired me to make this card.
I will submit this card to the challenge at:
I absolutely love this sketch.  Perhaps because
it reminds me of a snow globe.  In fact I made
another card using this exact sketch.  I'm not sure
if we can submit two cards, so I will just share
it on my next blog post.
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Seasons of fun, For all things.
I sponged the yellow circle, and then stamped
the image directly on it, and also on a piece
of white cardstock.  I colored in the images,
and then cut out the little boy on the white cardstock
to add him over the yellow.  So it looks more natural.

I thought I'd share a picture of one of our lovely trees.
This ash tree turns golden then hints of red, so gorgeous.
The verse I chose for this card is:
Psalm 85:12 KJV
 Yea, the Lord shall give that which is good;
and our land shall yield her increase

I hope you will stop back and see the other card
I made using this sketch.
Hint:  It's a Christmas card.  My favorite cards to make.

Harvest Time Thank you

Hello Friends.
The weather here has been rainy and cool.
Which means the little rodents are
wanting to move in again.
Just today there were 3 mice in the house.  I'm telling
you, I'm no pioneer woman.  I lost my
marbles over that.  I ended up putting
a plastic container over one of the rodents
and texting my husband.  He couldn't come
home, but this evening he rescued me.
The joys of living next to a junk yard, and
living in an old home.  Any ways, thankful
to have a home, I've been  researching
my garden stuff, so I thought why not
plants that rodents don't like.  Apparently,
next year I will be planting, mint,
lavender, and catnip.  Hopeful that will
stop them from enjoying the warmth of
our home.
I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Sampin Up:  Painted Harvest
I just used the one set, and stamped the flower
multiple times to give it a 3D look. I then
cut it out and popped it up.  There was actually
quite a bit of fussy cutting with this card.
I love the acorns,  I think that's my favorite part.
There is HP again.  My little darling with those
cute eyes, looking at me, but not letting go of his toy.
Love that little fella.

I also want to share some happy news.
I had my first sale yesterday since re-opening
my etsy shop this past July.  So super exciting.

The verse I chose for this card today is:
Galatians 6:9 KJV
And let us not be weary in well doing:
for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Happy Harvest

I made this square card for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Earthen Textures, You've got this,
Autumn Harvest.
Lawn Fawn:  Happy Harvest
This card was just simple stamping techniques,
a little layering with the pumpkins, but otherwise,
just the basics here.  Lot's of fun coloring and cutting.
You know the usual elementary stuff that
calms the mind and let's you unwind.
I love the different textures to the background.
I think it helps give depth to the card.
Just wanted to let you know that I just added 7 new
stamp sets to my etsy shop.  Hope you go check
them out.  Might be something you like.

My little guy decided to pose for a picture.
Not really.  Every time I go to take a picture
he turns his head.  little rascal.
Found this lovely little art piece on instagram
and thought I'd share it.
The verse I chose for today's card is:
Leviticus 23:22 KJV
And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not
make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when
thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning
of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor,
and to the stranger: I am the Lord your God.

Harvest Thank you

I made this harvest card for my dad, to
thank him for being such a helper.
He always has the best word phrases.
and the one he uses when he don't understand
what I'm talking about because I talk a mile
a minute (they say) is: I'm
"corn-fused"  haha I love it.  So I thought
this was the perfect card for him.
I will submit it to the challenge at:
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Lawn Fawn:  Happy Harvest
Another card of mine with just plain old
basic stamping techniques.  A bit of fussy cutting
with this one.  When I was cutting out the corn
stalks I was thinking of my own little garden,
and I think I figured out why the corn cobs didn't
get full of kernels.  I guess you are suppose to
plant them in rows.  haha imagine that.  I planted
ours on the perimeter of our garden but not in rows.
Next year I will do better.  Lord willing.  Any ways,
that is what I occupied my mind with when I was
cutting.  Then it was a matter of placement so
the little scarecrow would sit nicely to scare away
the crows.  Of course I had to think of the Wizard
of Oz when I was coloring and cutting him out.
I really like the Stampin up DSP I used for
this card.  It has nice harvest/fall colors.
My darling son celebrated his 30th birthday yesterday.
I'm so happy he was able to come home.  We planned
on going by him, but he wanted to come home.  Bless his heart.
I'm so grateful for all that have prayed for him since his
bad bike accident in August.  As you can see from the
above picture I took yesterday, he is back at it.
Glory to God.
Here is a picture of this little sweetheart. Right in
the middle of the walk way again, and so darn cute.
Now you all know I love house plants,
and I had quite a collection of African Violets.
Well, there is one particular one that I'm most
fond of.  Anyways somewhere along the way
with all that has been going on with my health,
I've neglected them.  It just dawned on me the other
day that my beautiful big purple one was no more. I
had propagated three hoping one of them would be it.
I'm happy to say this could be the one.  In the picture above.
Her blooms are about the size of a 50 cent piece. So when it
opens all the way I will know, and if it is, I will be
propagating many little leaves from her. In hopes
that she will not become extinct.

The verse I chose for this card is:
Psalm 9:1 KJV
I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart;
I will shew forth all thy marvelous works.

Halloween Card #3 for the 2023 Season

Halloween card #3 for the 2023 season.
I made this one for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Harvest Hellos, Seasons of Fun
What a funtastic card to make.  I love cutesy
Halloween stuff.  I've not ever been one to
go for the spooky stuff.
So this little gal with her pumpkin costume on
makes me smile.
Even though she has roller skates on, I sat
her on top of the pumpkin line up.  This was just
basic stamping and fussy cutting.  Then a matter
of following the sketch for placement.

Below is a picture of my orchid.  So happy
to see it bloom, especially since I cut the
air roots which is a big no no.  I just got a little
crazy trimming all my plants and apparently
the orchid got a "plant trim" too.  But happy
to say she blooms still, and hopeful always will.
The verse I chose for this card is:
Psalm 95:2 KJV
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving,
and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

Glory To God Christmas Card

Guess who made a Christmas card?
Oh how I do love Christmas card making.
Some of my other cards always seem to be
hit or miss on instagram.  So maybe I should
just focus on all Christmas all the time.  haha
I followed the sketch at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Decorated with happiness, Night Divine,
Reason for the season, Peaceful boughs, and
the stitched shape dies.
I started off thinking I would be using ornaments to
go around the sentiment and the oval.  However, after
coloring and cutting them out, it just didn't seem to match
the elegance of the oval or the sentiment.  So hence the
poinsettia, pinecones and pine sprigs.  I use some
dimensionals to pop up the oval and then went to work
layering the arrangement.  Now for the little embellishments
I chose white sequins to blend in.  Did you notice I embossed
the white cardstock in the background with snowflakes?
I had so much fun making this card, I had the Christmas tunes
playing and it was nice and cozy, even as it was storming outside.

I thought this was the perfect picture(below)for today.
It was a good reminder for me too, since I had another
lovely experience with doctors.  This time I went
for a second opinion for my eyes last Friday.  My appointment
was at 7:15 A.M.  Well on Saturday my one eye (the bad one)
was still dilated.  Oh boy after crying hard, which I'm sure
did not help it at all.  I asked for my fb friends to pray for me
and by Sunday the dilation was normal.  I was still quite
upset about it, and told my husband I don't think it's right,
he says, "want me to get a caliber to measure your pupils?"
Isn't he the cute one.  haha.
The little guy was moving his bed closer and closer
to my stamp room, the little darling.
The verse I chose for this card is:
Isaiah 9:6KJV
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor,
The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Happy 30th Birthday Son

I made this card for my son.  He is
catching up to me in age.  haha
I will submit it to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up: Beautiful World, Number of years,
Birthday wit.
Hampton Art~candles.
I decided to use the sketch in a square 5" x 5"  card.
It was quite a challenge to fit that circle with the strips
on there along with a sentiment in the corner.
I chose a scenic DSP that is land, water, sky,
to fit with the whole world, and globe theme.
I cut the strips and glued them on green
card stock before adding them to the finished card.
It was quite the decision on what color the globes
should be, and so I just stuck with the basic blue.
I love how the inside of the card turned out.  I
did a "W" fold to give it the pop out look.
I hope my son likes it. šŸ’–
The verse I chose for this card is:
Psalm 20:4 KJV
Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.
NIV
May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.
