Earthen Textures

I made this smaller slim line card for
the challenge at:
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Stampin Up:  Earthen Textures
I embossed the background before
adding the vases. I used dimensionals to give them
some height to layer the pampas grass and twigs better.
I love all the texture on this card.
I thought the pampas grass would look
nice at the top.  So I can tuck the person's
name right under it.
I  incorporated the ribbon behind
the embossed card stock and on the taller vase.
These are the colors I love, hence the reason
I chose them for this lovely boho look.
HP my little darling in my craft room.
I love it when he gets so bold as to push
the door open when I'm trying to take a picture.
I made my husband his favorite fried chicken for
supper last night with a side salad.
I'm excited to have a place to put my macrame cord and beads.
I am thinking of opening my etsy shop again, and this time not
only selling my retired stamp sets, and few of my cards, but
perhaps some of my macrame too.
Have a wonderful week.

Christmas is only 6 months away

Hello Sunday Evening.  So we meet again,
with another late entry into the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:
Merry Moose
Perfectly Plaid
Let's Go Shopping
Holiday Home
I realized today that we are six months away
from Christmas, so I decided to make a Christmas card.
I just love this new set, and wanted to
play with it again so I made it a little
Christmas book store.
Being I rushed myself a wee bit too much,
there are some sloppy parts and things I
wish I would have done differently, but
that is the fun thing about stamping,
we can always try something new and fun on
the next card.
There was a bit of fussy cutting involved,
and by the time I finished this one, I was a bit
exhausted and by the looks of my desk, you can
see I pretty much left it a mess to quick post this.
I must get in there and tidy up before going to bed.
Yesterday my darling and I made a trellis for our
garden, it was a team effort.  Me just giving
directions as to what I wanted and him doing all
the man power to get it done.
I took these two pictures in the evening
last night, so hence the poor quality.
I liked the cucumber trellis so much,
that I asked hubby to make another one
for the pumpkins.  He was not so thrilled
but guess what I now have two in
the little garden and I love them.
Now I will have to train the little plants
to climb up like they are suppose to.  and not all
over the garden and onto other plants.
Here is the black walnut tree that we love.
An evening shot of the beauty.  The garden is as
far away as possible from it.  but the roots run long
on these beauties.

James 1:17KJV
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,
and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom
is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Side Walk Sale Card

I knew this was a must have stamp set for me.
When I saw this in the catalog, I thought to myself,
"they made it just for me"  haha  not really, but a
girl can dream, and that's exactly what this little
set is all about.
I love dreaming, and window shopping is my favorite thing
to to.  I think it would be fantastic to decorate store front
windows.  In fact on my pinterest board I have a whole
board dedicated to window shopping.
And you all know I love books, so there had to be a book store
in the shop lineup.    I chose this particular stamp set for this
challenge because I love sidewalk sales, they just
remind me of summer in my shorts and "flipflops"
Now I can't walk very good, so it's just a lovely memory.
My card doesn't really have movement, but the layout
does in a way create some
depth, and let's just pretend the movement is from
all the customers walking along the sidewalk. wink.
And look there is more. All that goodness fits in the
standard A2 envelope.  How wonderful is that?
A few different angles for the card design.
I'm going to submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Let's go shopping
and a single sentiment stamp from Studio G
Take it easy.
I covered up the back so you didn't see the little
flap from the front.  just makes it look clean.
Yesterday I took this lovely picture of my
garden, I think this is our second year could be third
year trying to grow a garden, it's looking good so far.
It's a lot of work so hubby has to help, but it's fun
to watch it all come to life and also go grab a few
radishes fresh from the garden.
My little darling HP taking a snooze with me,
while I rested on my ice this morning.
The verse for this card is:
Luke 12:15KJV
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness:
for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

Father's Day Card

I'm happy to say my husband found the mouse that has
been stinking up our house.  He was actually trapped in
the furnace blower area.  The little varmint.
I get a wee bit tired of fighting the mice population here,
but I imagine it is to be expected in a 100+ home and living
in this part of town.
I had an impromptu slumber party with my daughter
last night.  Oh gosh I love having the kids home.
We laughed and chatted up a storm.  So much fun.
I'm happy that I had time to make a quick card
this afternoon.
I decided this will be for dad.  He just turned
77 on Flag day.
I will submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Happy & Heartfelt, Earthen Textures
I had to add the ribbon because as I was sponging
the circle on the paper I got ink all along the bottom.
How frustrating, but thank goodness for ribbon and
embellishments to help cover the little smudges.
Here are a few of the flowers in bloom
around the yard.
I just LOVE summer.
Here is a picture of HP, he loves
breezy days.

are blessed after him.

Grandma's Birthday Card (100 years young)

I updated this card.  I just wasn't happy with it.
After all it is for Grandma, and I wanted it
to look a little better on the front. But,  I didn't
want to mess up the challenge I submitted it to,
so I just added
the final card pictures to the bottom.
Well I didn't have much time to put this card
together tonight.  Had a rough week with my health
so struggled to focus on card making, or anything
for that matter.
But I really needed to make a card, just sorry
the outside of it didn't turn out as fabulous as the inside.
It's for my dear Grandma.  Tomorrow she turns 100.
Isn't that incredible?  I hope I can live that long too.
I  also made her this little crate of daisies, that
is my favorite thing to make lately, and it folds flat
for mailing.  Actually so does this fun card.
I will submit the card to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Cheerful daisies, color & contour,
Number of years, hello cupcake
My husband found a little brown egg when he was
moving a shrub, so I felt the need to rescue it.
Not that I've ever done anything like this, but
I felt so bad hubby moved his home.
so we put him back in the nest and he is
now under a warm light and hoping for the best.
Psalm 71:18KJV
Now also when I am old and greyheaded, O God,
forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength
unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.

Here is the final card.
Doesn't it just look better, and it goes
with her little crate of daisies too.
