Let it Snow

Nothing like making a Christmas card
on Halloween day.
I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Trees for sale
Snowman Season
Scary silhouettes
No black ink was used in the making
of this card.  😉
I used night of navy for the snowman,
and the sentiment.
I originally diecut the silhouette with
sparkle paper, but I didn't like how it looked.
However, I did keep it as a shadow for when
I put on the crisp white cardstock.
If you look closely you can see that.
Those little trees went so nicely with
the wintery scene.  To finish it off I used some
red ribbon and a few sparkle snowflakes.

Cozy Chair, Books and a Sweet Pup. Read and Relax

Oh my goodness, I'm glad I stopped by
CASology so I could wish them a farewell.
And, To also let the team know how much I've
appreciated this challenge blog and their
amazing creativity.
Their blog quote is one that is certainly
true and I love it.
"Making the simple complicated is commonplace;
 making the complicated simple,
 awesomely simple, that's creativity."

- Charles Mingus
I enjoyed playing with this challenge blog over the past
few years, because it gave me the opportunity
to learn how to embrace the less is more technique
in card making.  Clean white space is something
that takes quite a lot of time for me to do. It
don't come naturally for me.
I'm going to miss CASology and the team.
Thank you for pouring your heart into
this delightful challenge blog.  You
all did an awesome job.
I will submit this card I made to the final
challenge at:  CASology
Oh how I will miss the cue cards.
And the name of the blog is
pure genius.

For me being cozy looks something
like this:  a good book or movie, in a
comfy chair, or couch next to my hubby,
perhaps a cup of cinnamon tea,
with a crackling fire.  Of course
our pup resting on my feet keeping
them toasty warm.
So I picked a stamp set with a few
of my favorite cozy things:
ironically that is the name of the stamp set
MY Favorite things:  our Story.

My nerve plant is a bit dramatic.   She knows
all the plants get watered only once a week,
however on Monday she was all droopy and drained.
Letting me know as usual that she wants her water now.
After a little water she perked right up again.
this little gal has some attitude.  But she is
a beauty.  Also my little reminder to water
all my plants every Monday.
Best wishes to the team at CASology.

Harvest Pilgrim mice Wreath

Oh friends, yesterday was not one of my
better days.  I'm trying to learn patience,
but yesterday proved I have a lot more to learn.
Along with my usual autoimmune junk,
and still struggling with long covid, I pinched
something in my neck, so my arms and shoulders
were in extreme pain, and weakness, I couldn't even
tie my hair up myself.  Bless my husband he combed
through the snarls, and then cut off about 3 inches for me.
Anyways to top things off yesterday I popped my left
knee and it sent me right on down.  Good golly.  I had
a bit of a pity party yesterday.  But praise the LORD
I did get a little sleep last night.  And I made
this card.  That always helps.
I decided to go whimsical with the sketch challenges at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Sweetly Swirled
Lawn Fawn:  Thankful mice
Sweet n Sassy:  Harvest Blessings
I used my blending brushes for the yellow
background, then stamped all the images.
The pumpkin arrangement was in a
cornucopia that I cut apart after coloring it.
It worked nicely on the side, the cute little
pilgrim mice had to bring their offering
of cheese to the thanksgiving feast.   I also
like that leaf ribbon, it's like burlap, gives
the card such a warm feeling.  of course
a bit of sparkle washi tape was added above
and below it.
I took this fun picture of our side yard,
and It looks like the good witch from
the Wizard of oz is coming for a visit.
Not sure how I managed it, but nevertheless
pretty cool.  As my daughter said, "there's
no place like home"
We love the classics.
Then my kiddo sends me this snap (below) and
it made me laugh so hard.  Hope you smile too.

Hello Fall

I made this card for the challenges at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Wishing You well, For all things,
Bottled Happiness
I think that bow is one of my favorite
stamped bows of all time.  It's just perfect.
Looks like real ribbon to me.
I wanted to make a simple quick card so
I could go back outside and enjoy the lovely weather.
It sure is unseasonably nice here.
But Fall is coming in full force this week
with much cooler temps they say.
We've already had our first snow fall, but
this weekend has been glorious.  Even HP
was loving some time outside.  Although,
he did end up with many sandburs from
exploring the yard.
He even got his nails trimmed today too.
We harvest our last little mini watermelon
from the garden, and I'm saving the seeds
to replant next year.  Hope that it works.

A Very Merry Llama Christmas

I made this fun "unusual" card for the Christmas
Challenge at:
U for Unusual Christmas Colours
and
V for Velvet
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up: Trees for sale
The llama is from inkadinkado
I went for unusual colors and also my
Christmas Llama was perfect for being
on the tad unusual side too.
All the trees are in lovely non traditional
colors, and that sparkle ribbon is the
perfect addition.
My little puppers would not eat his
dog food again today.  So I made him
his favorite rice dish.  I then stayed in the dining
room to see if he'd eat the dog food, that
little rascal was actually eating only what I
made him and not the dry dog food.  Looks like
I've spoiled my sweetheart a bit.

Christmas Critters Caroling

I made this fun card for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Caroling Mice,
Hope & Peace, Trees for sale
I used my new blending brushes to create the
background.  I'm loving these things, it makes
blending a breeze.

I just let my imagination run wild with
these little critters.
A trio of mice is always nice.  haha
Especially if they are singing Christmas
carols in the frosty air.
Just your basic stamping, coloring and cutting
here, nothing fancy.  Did you notice the cute
wreath on the post?
HP taking it easy on his bed.  I'll be sharing his
latest pictures on instagram.  He got a new toy.
Such a little rascal.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #679~The Grinch Chrismtas

I decided after all those top ten
Halloween cards, it was time for
a Christmas card.
I found the perfect sketch to debut
my new stamp set.
I will submit this card to the challenge at:
The Grinch stamp set is from
Crackerbox.  I purchased it
from a lady on stamp stuff fb page.
The dilemma for me was trying to figure out
what DSP to use for the background.
This card was a work of love, you see
it took quite the determination to finish it.
I pinched a nerve in my neck and now
my right arm is in a lot of pain, and numbness.
Always something fun to deal with.   Sigh.
Just praying it will get better soon.
I was finishing this card when my hubby
said he would put my soup by the warmer.
When I came out of my stamp room
this is where I found the soup.  Made
me laugh so hard.  Sweet man.
