Sketch 244~Happy Birthday.. Happy New Year Calendar.

If you are looking for my guest designer card you will find it here.
****************
Well Goodness gracious.  January Birthday's especially those early in the month are some of the hardest for me to remember.  Perhaps because of Christmas, My daugther's birthday, and New Years.. but this year especially with the wedding (my daughter's) only 27 days away.  My mom's failing health.  Btw-she is back in the hospital this evening.  Please continue to pray for her that she will have peace and that she knows Jesus.  Thank you 💜  So with a few things going on I completely forgot that my mother-in-law's birthday is the 7th Of January.  So being I just made a card for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge
I thought this was a fabulous sketch to use again.  So hence the birthday card.   I used the Avant Garden from stampin up along with a single stamp that has the lovely quote on it.   I used a few different pattern papers for the background, and stamped the Birthday sentiment in the corner.  I really like how it turned out.
Image may contain: christmas tree and dogI'm also adding the before and after picture of my planner for the Month of January.  Did you notice the "LOVE BIRDS" wedding date?  How sweet.. or should I say how tweet.  haha.
I wanted to share one more picture with ya all.  My silly dog and his Christmas picture.  How cute is he?  He loves to be on the footstool.

Thank you all for stopping by for a visit.  Thank you for being part of my blog family and staying in touch, either here or on facebook.  Cards have a way of connecting us to our creative friends.  For that I'm grateful.
My your new year be blessed with Good health, The love of family and friends.  The ever present need to know the Savior more.

Sketch 244~Winter Cabin

If you are looking for my guest designer card you will find it here.

Today I made this card for the                  challenge at:
Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge
I tipped the sketch on it's side to accommodate my log cabin wintry scene.  I colored it in and then added white pearl paint quite liberally to the snowy trees, yard, and roof top.  I took a close up picture so you could see it a wee bit better.  I then chose a scripture verse for the sentiment in fitting with my SCS post.   I really like the background paper with this card.  I think it makes it look all cozy with the cabin nestled in the woods.   I would love to live in a cabin, and when I say that, I realize that I pretty much do.. but it's not as cute.  we do have logs in our house.  We actually have a tree right in the middle of our basement for support.  Yup folks.  A tree.   So perhaps I do live in a log home.
I'm also sharing the  simple thank you cards that I have been working on.    I enjoy making sure our friends and family know how much we appreciate their thoughtfulness.
Thank you so much for stopping by.

Framed with Circles Card Challenge

If you are looking for my guest designer card you will find it here.

****************
Well, I couldn't make my mind up which picture was the best so folks I included all 4.  Which is down from 17.  I think I spend more time trying to take and pick a picture then I do making the card. 😉   This was a fun card to make for the challenge at: Cards in Envy  "Framed with Circles"  What a neat concept.  So I began by die cutting multiple circles on my card.  Adding a few layers and then the stamping began.  After I coloring the bird and branch I fussy cut them out and placed them so they had just enough room in the big circle.  Onto the medium sized circle, I knew a peek-a-boo door would work perfectly with a cute sentiment behind it.  Now for the smallest circle which posed the biggest problem for me.   As usual I couldn't decide if I wanted a black snowflake on white.. or white on red card stock.. oh the dilemma.  I chose Red with a white pearl on top.    I stamped a few white snowflakes for the back ground.  Punched out a little white flake for the peek-a-boo door and added a jewel.  I then pulled out my pearl paint.  I added it to the trim, the puff ball of the hat, and all the little dots around the circles.  I think it finished it off nicely.

On a completely different topic.  My husband had to take a dish to pass for work yesterday.  So I prepared for him a slow cooker of kielbasa, corn and hominy.  The guys were very pleased, and had no idea what the "white stuff" was.  So cute.   They liked it.  YAY❕

Also: Did ya all notice the blue ink on my finger.  Oh yeah, I can't seem to make a card without a mess.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

PCC273.~Thank you Llama

If you are looking for my guest designer card you will find it here.
****************
Well folks this lovely llama stamp is a Christmas gift from my daughter.  SO I just had to make her a thank you Christmas card with it.   I mean who can resist a llama with a santa hat and a sweet tune.  ♪falalalallama♪
I embossed the background with the cable knit folder, and die cut out the fun garland and gold star.  I then stamped the thank you and turned it into a nice banner.  I added a little pearl paint to the trim-puff on the Santa Hat.
I'm going to submit this card to the challenge at: Paper Craft Crew
I was inspired by the red and beige colors

Week 280: KINDNESS

If you are looking for my guest designer card you will find it here.
****************

I made this card for the challenge at: Casology

Indeed it is the perfect cue card for the end of the year.   Kindness is so underrated, nothing warms my heart more then seeing young people helping elders and vice versa.   I also am one of those people that love to spread cheer, and do fun things like random acts of kindness.
I just kept my card super simple with a flower and lovely sentiment.  I did add a couple little embellishments and a dab of wink of stella to sparkle up the petals.

SSC168 SKETCH FUN~ Happy New Year

If you are looking for my guest designer card you will find it here.
****************
I made this card for the challenge at:
Such an ideal sketch to use some of my washi tape.   I embossed the background with what appears to be tiny bubbles.. and added some gold glitter paper to make it sparkle a bit.  It also matched the gold sequins wonderfully.   I colored in the glasses and added just a touch of clear wink of stella.  I think it turned out nice.  I like how with the sketch I was able to follow exactly where to place the sequins.. I always struggle with placement.

For those of you following my blog.  A short update on mom:  She is holding her own pretty well.  Still a lot of pain and struggles at every dialysis which is 3x a week.  Her heart is doing ok since the stints and she's now on 3 medications for that, along with her big dozes of insulin for diabetes and meds for her blood pressure.  She is still filling up fast with fluid, but we are all thankful that she is off of prednisone.  Hoping that her hearing will come back now.  Thank you for your continued prayers for her and the family.

Hopefully we will get about zero degrees today.  It's been bitterly cold lately.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Time Out Reminder for Challenge #99

Hi folks.  I'm so excited to share my second card as the guest designer for Time Out Challenges.
Challenge #99 THEME New Beginnings (New Year, New Home, New Baby etc) with the Optional Twist of Use Your Christmas Stamps for this Non-Christmas Theme sponsored by Happy Little Stampers-$15 gv for those who twist.
I made this cute card using three stamp sets.  Home Sweet Home by Avery elle for the sentiment and igloo.  Lawn Fawn's, Here we go a waddling for the penguins and Stampin up's, wonderland for the snowflakes.  I'm so happy because I got to use my new dies that make those lovely snowy hills.  I splashed on a lot of clear wink of stella on the igloo.  I thought the penguins went perfectly with their "new home"   I wonder if this card counts as a twist being the Lawn Fawn set is a cute Christmas caroling set.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
I look forward to seeing all your magnificent cards.

FMS318~Birthday Shellfish

I made this card for my daughter.  Today is her 21st Birthday.   The little sweetie was with me at the Christian Book store where I was looking at stamps and she saw this one from Lawn Fawn, and it just cracked her up, she has always loved puns.  So of course Hubby took me down there again a different day so we could purchase it and I could make a card for her.    I colored it and then added a bit of clear wink of stella so it would sparkle a bit, and match the glitter paper in the background.
I'm going to submit this card to the challenge at:
Thank you for stopping by for a visit.    I hope you all had an absolutely wonderful Christmas with Family and friends.

Sketch 243~Merry Christmas

If you are looking for my Guest Designer card You can find it HERE
**************************
I knew it was time to stop making such a fuss over baking, and worrying about Christmas day.  So onto the porch I went for some stamp time.  I chose to play along with:
What a fabulous sketch they have for us.  I made a little snow scene on my card, for the Christmas tree.  Then "spruced" it up with some glitter paper.   I thought this card was fitting too because of my SCS  where I like to post cards with scripture verses to stay encouraged, also fitting for Christmas.
I am sharing a picture of our little tree too.   I just can't manage the big one anymore, but nevertheless I'm happy and grateful to have a little tree to decorate.
I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas.
May your day be blessed with family and friends.

* This lovely picture I got off of google,  but wanted to share because my son did a puzzle for me many years ago, with this exact image and it's huge,  the snow glows in the dark.  We have it framed. It's gorgeous.. He's a pro at putting puzzles together.

Challenge 37~ Here we Go a Waddling.

If you are looking for my Guest Designer card You can find it HERE
****************************

I made this card for Always Fun Challenges where the theme is "A Christmas Carol"    So I chose to use my lawn fawn set called: Here we go a waddling.
It has the most adorable little penguins in it, and of course I love the lamp post.  After coloring each one in I cut them out and placed them in the die cut oval.   I added a bit of clear wink of stella to the light, and hat trim.   I tied some sparkle ribbon around the card to make it complete.
Well folks I baked as much as I could and Hubby helped decorate the last of the cookies.  So tomorrow we will finish up with the holiday baking for the family.

#GDP118~Happy New Year

If you are looking for my Guest Designer card You can find it HERE
****************************
Gosh, I really wanted to play along with Global Design Project
The sketch was so versatile, but I must confess my first take at this was awful.  I will add that card to the bottom of my post just to prove my point.  I am very happy with my little New Year Bird card.  I think the gray colors work nicely together.  I even used a little pearl paint for the puff and trim on his hat.
I'm slowly working on a little bit of Holiday baking for the kids.  So far we have almond bark candy, and rolo pretzels.   In the fridge chillin' is some sugar cookie dough I made earlier.  After that we will make oreo cookie bark, and rice krispie treats with peanut butter and chocolate.    I'm very thankful hubby took off today, so he could help me.  I just can't manage it by myself anymore.   Plus Hubs has to give HP his bath, which is a BIG chore, but puppers must be squeaky clean for the Holidays, because there will be lots of loving on him, everyone seems to adore our rascal of a dog.

Now for the first attempt with this sketch.. My "golden catastrophe"   of a card.
YIKES!!!!  What was I thinking.. or perhaps I wasn't thinking.. any ways I still sent it out to a family member.. I'm sure they'll appreciate that 😉
Thank you for stopping by for a visit.
