Christmas Bell and Branch

I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Hope & Peace, Decorated
with Happiness
I brought a hint of color to the card with
the branch and the bow.  Otherwise I kept it very neutral.
I added a few dimensionals to raise up the stamped
images, and one little embellishment on the bow.
I used my gray marker to color in the edge of
the card stock around the sentiment, instead of
layering another piece of paper.
My little buddy was watching me decorate
the Christmas tree.   I love how snuggly he looks
in his bed with his little toy.
I am happy to report the furnace is fixed.  Praise
the LORD we have heat and just in time.  Cold
temps have come back.  3 days with no heater in WI.
is not too fun.  Although it is fixed the repair man did
say to start saving because the old furnace is on it's way
out.  Perhaps one maybe two more years.  Well at least
we know, and can try to save.  Hopefully it will last
much longer.

Slimline Evergreen Christmas

I'm so happy I had a last minute chance
to work on a card.
I didn't think I'd be able to find
the time.  This past week was
a bit of a whirlwind.
But I wouldn't change it for anything.
I love having the kids home and making
meals for them and just hanging out.
I will submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Hope & Peace
Decorated with Happiness
I was actually up at 2am working
on this card, because of leg pain, I couldn't sleep.
Then lo and behold I realized it was a tad cold
in the house.  Indeed, the furnace was not working.
Well good thing we were still up.  Hubby turned it
off and on Monday he will call to see about repairs.
Talk about thanksgiving blessings.  Happy it held
out for us until last night, and also happy, it did
not blow up or cause a gas leak.  So many things to be
thankful for.  We still have electricity so we are using
our little oil heater and the weather in WI has been
very mild the past few days.  So that is all a huge blessing.
Hopefully the bill won't be too bad and they can fix
the old furnace without any other issues.
Always something, right?

So back to the card, I finished it this afternoon.
apparently my eyesight is not very good in the wee
hours, because it is a bit off centered.  I'm thinking those
branches would look nice with some puffy paint added to them.
And a tad bit of wink of stella to the bulbs, always an after thought
or two, when I already snap the pictures.

Here is the pumpkin pie I made.  I get such a kick out of the napkins
I also made these little turkey cookies for my darlings.
I then put one in each of the boxes I decorated for them.
I also served a  strawberry, spinach salad, and
everyone like it. Wonderful, and so festive.  Although the
dressing was not so grand.  Good thing I just left it off to the side.
I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving.

Merry Christmoose

I'm sitting at my dining room table watching
the wind whip the snow off the roof of the shed next door.
Very thankful for a home.  The trains are rushing
by and I think about all the yard workers. Rain,
shine, or freezing and snowing, they are out there.
Any ways as  much as I complain about all the noise,
and pollution.  It is fun to see all the graffiti and watch
the trains haul it down the line.
The card I made today is for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  In the pines & Merry Moose
I used a bit of puffy paint on the tree, I
wanted to give it a little more texture.
I feel like it was a good choice for this card.
HP was a bit concerned with my
rantings to myself as I was trying
to dust the porch, which is also his room.

Poinsettia Christmas Card

We woke up to a dusting of snow today.
Hunter(our dog)was the only one most excited about it.
When my darling took him outside, he
was overjoyed to frolic in the snow.
The only thing Hunter (HP) don't like is his
winter boots.  But once they are on, he's good
with them.
I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Reason for the Season,
Peaceful boughs
This is such a wonderful sketch I believe
I will have to make another card.  I was just
inspired to use my poinsettia stamp.
So here it is.  It is a two step stamp set.
Sometimes I have a hard time lining
these kind up, but this one is pretty forgiving
with the outlines.
I have a nice stash of DSP, and some
of the Christmas paper is a bit tricky to use.
So I'm trying to incorporate it more into
my cards, because I don't want to waste it.
For some reason that is always a challenge
for me.  Not just Christmas DSP but all sorts.

I love how the pine cones and evergreen twigs
make a lovely arrangement.
Which brings me to one of our pine trees
this morning all dusted in snow.
I came across this lovely statement.  It just
spoke to my heart.  I  enjoy being outside.
When I was a little kid, and told
to take naps, I remember laying on my bed, listening
to the trees, we had a birch tree that always sounded
like clapping when the wind swept through the leaves.
The pine trees, sounded like a howling of the winds
like something you might here high in the mountains.
Like the pines really are whispering.   So when I saw
this statement below, it was perfect.
I just came across a picture of HP when he was 4 months
old standing in the leaves, and then a present picture of
him at 11 years old this fall.  Our little darling is doing ok.
Still struggling with eyes and ears, but his allergies are
better.  Praise the Lord for that.
On another note I just finished another lovely book
by Francine Rivers, "The Lady's Mine"
Highly recommend it.
What good books have you been reading lately?
I'm always interested.    Even though my eyes are
a challenge for me, because of long covid, I still
find enjoyment in reading.
Ooh and one more thing, do any of my Bible
reading friends have a good recommendation
of a nice journal Bible?  I would like a KJV, and
I'm on a budget so it can't be too pricey.
I put the question on my instagram
but so far no one has responded.

Candy Cane Christmas Card

Happy Saturday friends.
We have a gloomy day here.  A little snow
and drizzle, and much cooler temps.   So I thought
I'd make a cheery Christmas card.
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Stampin Up:
Scentsational Season, Hope & Peace
I will submit this card to the challenge at:
I like how the striped DSP works lovely
with the candy canes.
I used dimensionals to layer the sentiment,
and candy canes.
I just kept the card simple.
Here is a picture of the sky this morning
around 11am.  I thought the sky looked
so impressive over the train yard.
A wonderful person brought us over
some cupcakes.  Gosh what a treat.
I just finished another wonderful book
by Francine Rivers
The Lady's Mine
So Good.  Highly recommend it.

Christmas Wreath Joy

It was another glorious day here in WI.
Besides the disturbing outcome of the elections.
I was reminded in my devotion time that we are to
rejoice always.  So that is what I did.
After a little rant on my personal fb page.
I went outside with HP(our dog)
and enjoyed the nice weather.
I even tried to rake which was probably
ridiculously stupid on my part.
The twisting and such isn't good for my
back and shoulders, however, I did
make a small pile, and even have a blister
on my thumb as proof of my hard work.
I'm hoping it will be helpful to hubby.
He hurt his back two weeks ago at work.
I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Pretty Pink Posh~Pine Wreath
Those festive little pinecones turned out
so stinking cute.  and that bow.  Oh my
goodness I think I found a new favorite.
Here's HP at one of his usual
spots.  He loves to look out the windows.

Merry Christmas Pine Cones

Happy Saturday Morning.
The rain is falling and it's a bit gloomy
outside today.
So I have some Christmas music playing.
Just feels cozy.  However, I must take
down my Halloween decorations.
Hopefully, I will get that done this afternoon.
Time to put up a few Thanksgiving items.
I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Christmas Season & His Light
I probably should have made this into a square
card since I was running out of room on my
standard A2 card size.   Have you ever bought
a stamp set and not the matching dies?   Well
folks, that is exactly what I did to save a few
dollars and now I wish I had the dies, fussy cutting
out all those little tidbits was not so fun.  But I managed.
A tad blurry eyes, and numb fingers, but that's
card making for me.  I love how the gold DSP
really brings out the pinecones.
My little guy looks so long sleeping under the
table as I type this.

Thought I'd share this lovely Blessings acronym.
