Birthday Card Racoon

I made this cute card for my daughter.  Today
is her Birthday.  I went a bit crazy with the
snowflake embellishments.   I just couldn't place
three of them nicely, so I decided the more the merrier.
Which is a name of an older movie that
I love to watch. The More the Merrier.
I love the sentiments on this card.  They fit
my daughter perfectly.
It has been a few days since stamping, and my
hands were so shaky with the coloring, but I
got through it.  After stamping and coloring came
the fun fussy cutting.
I also really enjoy that wood DSP.   Just seems so
rustic and perfect for the racoon.
I will submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Approaching Perfection,
Friendly Conversation, All Bundled Up
How is that for a pampered pup?
Isn't he the sweetest?  He
received three new toys, and
one is lamb chops. He slept
on his little couch with him.

I hope you all had a blessed Christmas.
We had the kids home and it was absolutely
fantastic.  We had a lovely dinner,
and a few gifts were exchanged.  Our
hearts our overflowing with love.

May the New Year bring Health, peace, and
love to each of your homes.

Poinsettia Christmas

Dear Friends, you won't hear to much
of my ramblings tonight, being I have company.
My daughter is here.   But I knew what I wanted
to make for a card, so it came together rather quickly.
So we could get back to the visiting.
I will submit this card to the challenge at:
Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Hope & Peace, Decorated Pine Dies,
Reason for the Season.
I made these little packets of cocoa for the kiddos and
one for my dad.
We got about 8+ inches of snow.  Don't the
Christmas lights look so lovely under the snow?

Looks cold, and let me assure you it is.
Isn't that rainbow in the clouds fantastic?
HP loves the snow.
I made a snowman to enjoy from my windows.
Still stiff from the whole experience, but it
was worth it.

Christmas Church

I finally mailed out my Christmas cards today.
Well, actually my husband did.  I imagine no one
will recieve them until January, the way the mail
service in our area has been. My darling had a ton
of chores to do today.  The front
door was sealed tight, because our old
house shifts with all the traffic and trains, so
he had to shim that up again.  Then the sink
started leaking so he had to replace the board under
there and the valves.  He don't get a break.
I'm happy to have the opportunity to make a card
today, it's my calm in the storm.  In fact I started
thinking why don't I just always make Christmas
Cards.  It seems I need more of those then any other,
and I always run short.  I also have this weird feeling
that eventually we won't even have a postal service
anymore, especially the way the times are changing.
Makes me sad to think no cards in the mail.
I will submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Stampin Up: Peace to You
I love that little Church, it reminds me of
how that song, Silent Night, came to be.
It's quite extraordinary, but isn't that the case
with all great hymns or songs.   The tragic
story behind:  It is well with my soul, always
brings tears to my eyes.  The words are powerful.
My card was easy enough to make until
my clumsy hands decided to tip the glued side
down on my desk and make a mess of everything.
I stamped the sentiment and then cut it in half
so that it would fit on the side and have a little
for under the church too.  I added a few
snowflake embellishments to finish it off.
Love how HP begs so intently.
Below is a picture of my
little plants window.   I didn't
even put up my window clings yet.
Might not happen this year.

Snowman Christmas Card

I am happy to announce that my sweetheart
brought up one of our trees and I decorated it.
It was quite a chore for me.  I think my
dog was enjoying watching the show.  haha
I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Hope & Peace, Snowman Season,
Trees for Sale, and Color & Contour
I just couldn't get the circle shapes, but I did
try to accentuate the scallop edges.
I made a cute snowman scene, because
the edges reminded me of drifted snow.
Hence the reason I used a snowflake DSP.
I cut the sentiment in half to make it work
for the sketch, and I colored in the edges
of it, instead of adding more card stock.
That's my new favorite thing to do.  Just
gives it a bit of dimension without too much paper.
Here is my Christmas tree. I'm still
not use to the lower half of our walls being
white.  We had hoped to paint them back
to the burgundy that I always had, but
the summer got away on us.  So another season
of white it will be.   Also, when I was "we"
I mean my husband, the poor guy has
to do all the work around here.  I do try to help.
Just can't do very much yet.
I switched our calendar and I love the new look.
I also thought I'd share the first day of our
Christmas devotion too.

Christmas Bell and Branch

I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Hope & Peace, Decorated
with Happiness
I brought a hint of color to the card with
the branch and the bow.  Otherwise I kept it very neutral.
I added a few dimensionals to raise up the stamped
images, and one little embellishment on the bow.
I used my gray marker to color in the edge of
the card stock around the sentiment, instead of
layering another piece of paper.
My little buddy was watching me decorate
the Christmas tree.   I love how snuggly he looks
in his bed with his little toy.
I am happy to report the furnace is fixed.  Praise
the LORD we have heat and just in time.  Cold
temps have come back.  3 days with no heater in WI.
is not too fun.  Although it is fixed the repair man did
say to start saving because the old furnace is on it's way
out.  Perhaps one maybe two more years.  Well at least
we know, and can try to save.  Hopefully it will last
much longer.

Slimline Evergreen Christmas

I'm so happy I had a last minute chance
to work on a card.
I didn't think I'd be able to find
the time.  This past week was
a bit of a whirlwind.
But I wouldn't change it for anything.
I love having the kids home and making
meals for them and just hanging out.
I will submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Hope & Peace
Decorated with Happiness
I was actually up at 2am working
on this card, because of leg pain, I couldn't sleep.
Then lo and behold I realized it was a tad cold
in the house.  Indeed, the furnace was not working.
Well good thing we were still up.  Hubby turned it
off and on Monday he will call to see about repairs.
Talk about thanksgiving blessings.  Happy it held
out for us until last night, and also happy, it did
not blow up or cause a gas leak.  So many things to be
thankful for.  We still have electricity so we are using
our little oil heater and the weather in WI has been
very mild the past few days.  So that is all a huge blessing.
Hopefully the bill won't be too bad and they can fix
the old furnace without any other issues.
Always something, right?

So back to the card, I finished it this afternoon.
apparently my eyesight is not very good in the wee
hours, because it is a bit off centered.  I'm thinking those
branches would look nice with some puffy paint added to them.
And a tad bit of wink of stella to the bulbs, always an after thought
or two, when I already snap the pictures.

Here is the pumpkin pie I made.  I get such a kick out of the napkins
I also made these little turkey cookies for my darlings.
I then put one in each of the boxes I decorated for them.
I also served a  strawberry, spinach salad, and
everyone like it. Wonderful, and so festive.  Although the
dressing was not so grand.  Good thing I just left it off to the side.
I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving.
