Week 270: ODD~Spooky Cat

I decided to try the challenge at: Casology

  

 I got this idea in my head about using it literally as in odd numbers.. and what better way then Halloween.  SO I pulled out my Michael's alphabet/number set stamped them down, of course 3x (odd haha)  and still had to color them in a bit because they didn't stamp even( get it even)  omgosh.. I'm cracking myself up with the puns today.  The witches hat is from stampin up called Spooky cat.    I think it came together cute and very simple.  And notice 3 (odd number) images were stamped.  Yay.

 A bit sad I had to add extra color to the numbers so it didn't match the orange background, nevertheless not to shabby.  I probably would like it better if I had masked the witch's hat and not the number 3, but I left it because I was cutting it short on time here.  Perhaps my next card I'll try it that way just too see if I like it better.

I DO LIKE it BETTER.... WAY BETTER.. I wish I could put that one in the challenge spot.  May I do that?  I wonder..Don't ya all like it much better then the first one?  Live and Learn I guess 😉

FMS308~Tree for All Seasons & SCS

  What a day.  I tried to give our dog a bath.  I tell ya there is nothing like a wet springer spaniel that decides to burst out of the bathroom and get the house soaking wet.  Floors walls..  I really should have waited for my husband to do this, but I wanted to surprise him.. and Surprise is what happen because when he came home, I was done for.  So taking it easy the rest of the day. 

So onto card making.  I can do that with not much pain.   This particular card I made for the challenge at: Freshly Made Sketches

I used my old stampin up classic set from the year 2000 called Tree for all Seasons.  It's a lovely little set and I thought the layering would work wonderful with this sketch design.  A bit of colorful leaf washi tape and copper paper to enhance the appearance of this rather simple card.  I also like the bonus of the twine tied in the leaf button.. just keeps it real and rustic.

And being Sunday I also made a very quick card for my SCS (Scripture Card Sunday)  I am still playing with that new to me background set.  I stayed with all greens on this card, after realizing I have way to many green ink pads.  Some are not so "juicy" anymore, and no refills possible since they are older.    Oh gosh what to do??  

I'm also including some pictures today of this golden leaf.  It was in a puddle by my back door and I thought it was just gorgeous.. I love how the water droplets on top of it are like little pearls and how the water ripples around it because of our gravel driveway.   So pretty even on a gloomy day.

CTS #243~Let It Snow Plus MORE

 I made this card today for the challenge at: Case This Sketch

  

I brought out my old faithful tall stampin up snowman from Let it Snow 1997.  I colored him in, cut him out and the just kept it extremely simple. I did add a little strip of silver foil paper to spruce it up a bit. OH gosh a Lovely tall spruce would look nice for this sketch as well.. shucks. I should have tried that.  Well perhaps next time. 😉

Onto card number 2 today... this is from my brand new (used) stamp sets that I found at the consignment shop in town.  They were on sale too.  Also even more exciting is that some stuff I had there had sold so I was able to use that money to purchase these sets.. It's like the store paid me to have them. haha.  Can you believe how reasonable these were for stampin up sets?  I would not have ever bought that stipple Hydrangea but being that it was only 1.79.. I figured I'd give it a try.  Looking forward to playing with all of them, except perhaps that big sentiment one.  I thought it was lovely in the store, but getting it home OMGOSH. they are huge, and also brand spanking new.  Perhaps the original owner thought the same thing.. They would be lovely for a scrapbook-er I suppose.  I might end up selling those ones.  Overall with prices marked below asking I just didn't want to pass that up.  

One last thing to share with ya all.  These adorable pencil boxes for Halloween.  I found the idea here at: The Lady and Her Stamps I did have to adjust a few sizes though, but not a problem they turned out cute.  I used the Spooky Cat from stampin up for the images.  The pencils are from the dollar section at Target.  I  didn't think I had the cello bags on hand, and then I remembered that I made these cute doggy treat bags this past summer.. so YAY. I had some leftover.  Now I can probably stick a treat in there too for the kiddos.. and not the milkbones. haha.

TMS#424~Thanksgiving

 I made this card for the challenge at: Tuesday Morning Sketches

Both the turkey and the sentiment are from Michael's.  At least from what I can remember, they have been in my stash for awhile.  The little corner piece is a miss match from stampin up that a friend gave me.  So no name of the set on that one.  I know it had a lot of cute corners though.   I wish the picture would show the embossed background better.  I used the basket weave folder.. because my mind was thinking of a basket of bread or dinner rolls that you would serve at Thanksgiving, of course not with this cute little turkey. haha.  I colored him with pencils and my aqua painter and then cut him out.  Same with the corner piece.

I think the card came together sweetly.  This is an awesome sketch design to work with.  I see a Christmas card in the makings for this sketch.

FMS308~Christmas Stampin UP Style

Yay❕ I kind of got my groove back this evening.  Gosh I was stuck and didn't think I could make anything creative and then I came across this lovely challenge at: Freshly Made Sketches 

I knew I must play along.  And what better way to get me out of this mood then with Christmas.  So I pulled out a few different stampin up sets and began working on this cute little card.  I love how the washi tape looks so different from the background to the one with the bow on it.  All because I taped it on white paper to make it pop more.  Can you name the different stamp sets I used to make this card?

Cards In Envy Fall Leaves

 Well after my doctor's appointment yesterday I'm having trouble finding my "creative mojo" today.  Sometimes a person just feels zapped, so to help snap me out of my lull I cruised through the blog challenge list and decided to play with Cards In Envy  Blowing in the wind (fall leaves) is the challenge.  After looking at ALL of the most adorable cards on display there,  I realized I was not going to be able to compete with such fine artists.. so I went with a simple approach and brought back the triple layer card.  Not sure exactly what it is called, but I know it was quite popular a few years back.  I just thought it would work lovely to give the card some dimension, but would still be able to nicely fit in the envelope.  After I stamped the leaves I colored them in some fall tones and then sparkled them up a bit with wink of stella gold and clear.

PP365~Autumn Colors~Sunflower

I made this card for the challenge at: The Paper Players

  

Lovely autumn colors to play with, however I only have Crushed curry in my collection, so I had to do a lot of improvising to make this work.  I used a stamp set that I purchased from the Michael's Craft store awhile back.  I colored it using my aqua painter and ink pads.  Then I cut out the flowers, butterfly and sentiment and arranged them nicely on the layered card stock.   This is actually my 7th card I made today, the other 6 I can't post because I made them by taking a class from a demonstrator.. so they are not my own designs.  But they are so lovely.  I wish I could share.  SO I was very busy stamping but only one for show. haha> that reminds me of the saying: one for the money two for the show.. three to get ready and four let's go.. whatever is that even from?  oh I'm drifting with my thoughts again.. better call it a day.
