Color Dare #300 Lilypad Lake, Waterfront, Stampin Up

Well folks, I made this little card to be entered in the fabulous challenge at:
I don't have the exact colored inks, but I tried to match them up as best I could and giving close attention to not adding any other color except black & white.  I must say that alone was a challenge being that I really wanted to spruce up the little sailboats and add a big golden sunset behind the mink colored mountains.  The actually colors I used were:  Stampin Up Inks:
Powder Pink = Bashful
Island Indigo=Pacifica
Sahara Sand=Mink
I used two stampin up sets to make this card. Lilypad Lake and Waterfront.

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.

CTS #279~ Enjoy Life, Stampin Up

Well I squeezed in one more card for today.  This one I made for the challenge at:
I was happy to use my new Stampin up set called Enjoy Life.    As soon as I saw this in the catalog, I knew I would want it.   I use to be quite the athlete, but things changed after my back surgery.   However, I remember those days and the joy I had.  I miss it terribly, but no use crying over spilled milk, well at least not everyday, all ya get is red swollen eyes, and and a bad attitude.   So I stamp instead, and I love this set.  The sentiments are so lovely.  On the front of the card however, I used a piece of washi tape for the sentiment.  I thought it was quite fitting, and worked so well with the inside of the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.

CAS Game #118 - Use A Frame~ Sloth

I was ecstatic when I came across this cute sloth stamp set at Michael's.  It was a steal of a deal.  And such a perfect buy since my dad just gets such a kick out of sloths.  SO you guessed it.  This card is for him.
I'm going to enter it in the challenge at:  AAA Cards

Hubby is on vacation this week.  So our "staycation" means a few things around the house need to be taken care of.   Plus our big decision needs to be made this week on whether to move or fix the floors.  Which is just the start of the to do list. (sigh)

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.
I hope you will take a look around at my other cards, projects and pictures.  I'd love to have you sign up and follow my blog.  Getting closer to 100 followers.  YAY❕

Sketch 271~It's a Celebration, Happy 4th Of July, Stampin UP

Image result for happy 4th of july
I had a few minutes to spare to whip up this card today for the fun challenge at:
I thought I'd stick with a patriotic theme today being that it is the 4th of July.   SO I pulled out my Christmas/New Years set.. I mean what else would a stamper use?  haha.. Seriously though the stampin up, It's a Celebration set that has Happy New Years sparklers is perfect.  So I made a little fireworks display in the center square.  The sentiment is from an older 1993 set and I only have 1 or 2 from it.  I wish I had the whole thing.   The vertical strips on the side are washi tape, that I stuck down and then matted it also.   Did you notice the red, white, and blue star brads?   I thought I'd tack those on because of the embossed star background.
Here is a picture of our festive table.  We celebrated the 4th early because both of our kiddos could come home.   Today it's just hubby myself and the puppers.  WE were outside for a lovely time and will be grilling burgers later.  Our daughter and Son-in-law might come over to have a small fireworks show.
Our son had to head back out of town.
I thought I share a picture of HP cooling off in his pool.  My daughter cleaned it all out for us and him.  Because early this summer a duck family decided it should be their personal pond.  It was cute.. but it was MESSY.
Here is a picture of our yard today.. as you can see it's a hazy humid day.. but honestly I'm loving it.

I hope that you're all enjoying a lovely day with friends and family.  Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #460~Hello Friend, You're Delightful, Stampin Up

I made this card for the challenge at:
I did a bit of cutting to make the tiny squares, and  some layering.
I used two stampin up sets:  Hello Friend for the sentiment and You're Delightful for the images.  I think it turned out cute.  Very bright and cheery.  I added a couple embellishments to round out the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.

I must say that I'm so impressed with how many people liked my string technique card.  I put it on 3 different fb card groups and the feedback has been so sweet.  I appreciate it so much.  You can check those cards out Here

TMR#88 & J2718~ Watercolor Wings, Sky is the Limit, Stampin Up

I made two awesome cards today trying a new technique with string that I learned here at The House that Builds Stamps  I followed the directions but I chose a couple colors and I  used waxed paper for the ink droplets, then I sprayed it with a spritz of water to help spread it out.  I smashed the string in the wax paper and pulled it through then swirled it onto the paper.   I was able to make two cards because of the "mirror image"   and for some reason my string art just looked like motion to me so I wanted to finish my cards off with something that seemed to say movement.. action.. So hence I chose the top card to be submitted to the following challenges:

Anything Goes Challenge ~ J2718

The stamp sets featured in today's cards are:
Stampin Up: Watercolor Wings
Stamping Up: Sky is The Limit

I'm wondering if you know what film inspired my plane card?
 Hints:
 It's an action movie
There are four in the series as of now.
The first movie hit the big screens in 1981
A fifth in the making which they say will be released in 2020
Director: Steven Spielberg

Any idea yet?
Indiana Jones
Did you guess right?
Now out of curiosity.  Which card do you like better?  The butterfly or the plane?    I'm really pleased with this technique.. It fabulously fun to try.   You do get a bit inky, but gosh I get inked up just stamping so no problem.

Color Dare #299~What I Love Stampin Up

I made this card for the challenge at: Color My Heart Color Dare
I chose the middle row across, and tried to stick to the colors of Toffee, New England Ivy and White Daisy.   I also chose black for outlines and the sentiment.  I had to really stop myself from adding extra color.
I used a stampin up set called What I love.  I usually try to stamp a card on Sundays for my SCS post, but today I just ran out of time.  Our kids came over to celebrate the 4th of July early.  They have busy schedules and I'm thankful they made time for us 💗  So I can't talk long we still have company and it's time for me to warm up the bbq pork leftovers from earlier today.
We went to the bike park and saw this amazing kite a young couple was flying.. How sweet.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit.
