HSS Sketch Challenge #265~PLANT HOPE

I ordered this Plant Hope stampin up set off of ebay and it came in the other day.  I think the palm tree is lovely.  I fussy cut it out and added some wink of stella clear glitter to the tree top.  If you follow my blog, you'll know that lately I dab a bit of stella on everything.  It's fabulous.  My new favorite way to add some shimmer and sparkle.  I thought this was a lovely sketch to play along with at: Hand Stamped Sentiments

Keeping with a tropical theme, I thought I would share a picture of my spring cactus now blooming.  Gosh that makes me happy.   I really love it when things start blooming.  Our winters are long here in WI.  Still waiting for the black walnut tree.. it's the last to get it's leaves and the first to lose them, but such a grand tree to have in the yard.  I've actually had one person offer to buy the wood from this magnificent tree, we said no.  We have planted a few pines (spruce).  I know a lot of people don't like them, but I grew up with white pines and there is something magically beautiful about them in winter.   We also have a lovely Autumn Ash we planted here, that is gorgeous.   Well enough about our trees.  I will have to remember to post pictures of the side yard this summer.

PP346~RAINY DAY ELEPHANT

 This is a card I made for the sketch challenge at:The Paper Players Blog

 

I used a stampin up embossing folder for the background.  The elephant is a single stamp from the dollar bins at Michael's.  The sentiment is from stampin up.   I fussy cut out the elephant and umbrella after I colored it.  I then dabbed on some clear wink of stella to the image to give it some sparkle.  I added a few enamel embellishments to tie it all together.

I also am tacking on a few pictures of the Hawk that visits my yard frequently.  He enjoys the hunt here, being we live next to a snowmobile junk yard, there is plenty of mice, rabbits etc.  This time I think he got a bird, it was heartbreaking but nothing I could do 😔.

PCC245~ Hope in the Rain.

Well I have not ever played along with a tic-tac-toe challenge, so this was fun.  I went straight across the board with bright colors, enamel embellishments and some sparkle and bling for the challenge at: Paper Craft Crew.  I used this cute little stamp, I bought a few years back.  Then I stamped the image again on the matching background paper so I could cut out his umbrella, coat and boots.   I water colored the rest and added a few enamel hearts to stay with the background theme.  I found this lovely silver sparkle paper and die cut the word "hope" out to give it some of that bling.  I planned on making this into a shaker card but I'm not so good with those yet.  So I just glued the little framed acetate paper directly down.  I think it's ok.

SCS~PRAYER JOURNAL

 Here is a little something different for my SCS (Scripture Card Sunday) I was in need of making a new prayer journal. So I found this adorable little note book at the dollar store.  I actually bought two.  One to cover with my awesome daisy duct tape, because ya all know I LOVE DAISIES, and the other I kept with the cute little flower and think Happy thoughts quote.    So after I taped it up.. I felt like it needed something a bit more yet, as in stamping.. haha.. so here is the finished product.↓

 I even added little tabs like my last prayer journal.

 I'm really pleased with how it turned out.  I like how the silver foil paper pops so lovely against the daisies and such.

Challenge #330 - Shimmer~ BIRDIE

 I  might have subconsciously made this card for myself.   I apparently get to a breaking point in this journey I'm on, and some days are just harder then usual.  So a little reminder, note to self.

  "Hang in there."   

I used two stampin up sets to make this card, and I hope in this picture you can see the little birdie I cut out is covered with shimmer glitter.  Gold on it's wings, head and beak area and clear glitter on the remaining.  It really is quite dazzling in person.  I tried my best to leave white space.  As my blog followers know, I struggle with the "less is more" theme.  So quite a challenge to play along with  this blog:   Less is More.  I'm happy to have stumbled across it, as to help me learn this simple concept.  Yay! 

I thought I'd also include another picture of this cute little feathered friend that was visiting my yard.  A little bit more inspiration for the card.

FMS289~Fintastic

 Today I made a card for the challenge at: Freshly Made Sketches               

It was the perfect opportunity to pull out my lawn Fawn

stamp set.  I had a completely different vision in my mind on how this card was going to turn out, but the finished product is not to shabby.  I posted the second picture in hopes that with the flash you could see the glitter a bit better on all the shells and the fish.  There was a bit of fussy cutting to piece this together just the way I wanted.

My daughter and her boyfriend just came back from a Trip out to VA and NC  to see family.. and they brought me this lovely little jar full of ocean shore sand and shells.  So I was feeling inspired to let them know who much I appreciate them with this cute little card today.

PP345~Butterfly

I made this card for the challenge at: The Paper Players 

  

I enjoy working with butterflies, just didn't know what direction I wanted to go with this card. So I got out my silver foil paper which is my new favorite thing to play with lately.. you'll see what I mean if you take a look at a few of my earlier posts. 😉  I embossed this lovely daisy flower on it and then die cut out the different layers so I could add a sentiment.  The butter fly is a die that is one of my favorites.. because it's little and detailed.  I added a few embellishments for some sparkle and even used my wink of stella on the butterfly.

 I forgot until it was picture time how difficult it is to capture the beauty of a foil card, so many glares, and reflections. 

I also added a picture of my little feathered friend who came out for a visit.  A little sunshine for the day, so bright and cheery.
