Guest Designer at TIME OUT Challenge #99

I am so excited to be the guest designer at: Time Out Challenges Blog. For Challenge #99 on Dec. 21, 2017.    A bit nervous to be among such talented card artists.

  The THEME  is New Beginnings (New Year, New Home, New Baby etc) with the Optional Twist of Use Your Christmas Stamps for this Non-Christmas Theme

 I made this card using my stampin up's, "It's a Celebration" for the "fireworks" in the background and the sentiment.  The numbers are from Michael's craft store, I just stamped them in the navy blue and fussy cut them out.  I wanted a bit of  shimmer on this card, but didn't want the embellishments so I stuck a piece of glitter paper between the layers.  I think it was just the right amount of dazzle. 

I'm looking forward to seeing what ya all come up with.  I'm sure it will be super spectacular.

Merry Monday #270 {Christmas Tic-Tac-Toe}~Reason for the Season

I honestly cannot believe I got a card made today.  My mind has been overwhelmed with my mom's failing health, Christmas right around the corner and my daughter's birthday and upcoming wedding in January.   

I'm so grateful she went with me shopping to get a few last minute baking supplies.    We might be doing all our baking on Friday because she has off a bit earlier that day.    I talked with our son last night and filled him in on Grandma.  I'm so happy that he and his lady will be coming home  for Christmas too💗  Well with all the scoops out of the way.  Onto the card.  This one here I made for the challenge at Merry Monday Christmas Blog

I chose the middle row down.   I used my stampin up's Reason for the Season set, with matching poinsettia punch to make this card.  I stamped each petal, punched it and then creased it to give it a realistic look.  I topped off the flower with a gold jewel center.   The ribbon I wrapped around the card to resemble a Christmas package.  I wish I would have had plain gold card stock on hand to match the patterned paper, but I did not so I went with green to bring out the ribbon a bit more.  I learned a new way to deal with a punch that has multiple images on it.  Stamp it on scrap paper first.   Then Line up all your stamps on the punched out scrap paper, and press your acrylic block down.. and there you have it.  You can stamp multiple images and punch with out wasting paper.

PCC272: Sketch Challenge~Christmas SCS

Well I got my SCS done.  I  didn't think it would happen, but PTL here it is.    I won't go into to much detail about it, just that I struggled cutting out the manger and then got glue everywhere,  big surprise for me.. NO.. I'm a bit of a messy stamper apparently.  Anyways  I really liked the finished look.  Even the twine tied around the card.  Because the bow turned out.  Whoohoo.

Challenge #47 Anything Goes + Christmas

 I really do love making Christmas cards.  So with this Christmas card I used Stampin Up's Christmas in the making and Lawn Fawn's Christmas dreams.  There was an extreme amount of coloring on this little card, and with my blurry eyes today it was getting a bit frustrating.  However, I pressed on and then had to fussy cut out all the images.  The fun part was placing them all just perfectly around the fireplace.  Gosh I think the two sets worked lovely together to create this picture perfect moment.     I also added clear wink of stella to the star, ornaments, presents, stockings, ribbon and the fire.  Hence the second picture, I hope you can see the sparkle glitter a bit better in it.

Update on mom:  She is home from the hospital, and had a rough night.  I called her this afternoon, but her sugar dropped and she was trying to bring it back up.. so very shaky, and weak and couldn't talk long.  Thank you for your continued prayers.

Challenge 36 & #tttc028 ~ Merry Christmas from Mr. & Mrs. Santa Clause

 Oh gosh how cute is this Christmas Card from Mr. & Mrs. Santa Clause? At least that's what I'm pretending as I made this card.  It was like it was their"Christmas Picture Card"     That they would send to all the elves in the workshop.    

So ya all know I love snow globes, hence  I brought out the die cut for this adorable one.  Then I used my avery elle for Santa and the Mrs.  The holly berry/leaves and sentiment are from lawn fawn.   After coloring the images I fussy cut out Mr & Mrs. and the Holley berries too.   I might go back and add a bit of  clear wink of stella to santa's hat and coat trim.   I used silver foil in the snow globe for a metallic scene backdrop  I thought it would work lovely with the silver sparkle paper.  I punched out a few snow flakes to add in the globe, and then used my white pen to make little stitch marks around the globe.  I also die cut a little patch of snow for the bottom.  I tell ya I am new at using these dies and I tend to always place them upside down.  So it took a few tries to get just the right amount of snow for them to stand on. 

 I think it turned out cute.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #433~Brightly Lit Christmas

I was gone most of the day.  I went to see my mom in the hospital.   We waited and waited for her to come back to the room, but it never happened, so they let us go in one at a time to dialysis to say a few quick words.  Mom is not doing very well at all.   Between the heart attack and the stints they put in, and the dialysis, her little body is very frail and we just ask that you would pray.  Thank you.  

 So when I got home I knew after I stretched out my back and legs that  I would want to spend a little time on my card making.  It is a great form of therapy for me.

Tuesday Morning Sketches

I used the Brightly lit Christmas set from stamping up for the images in this card.    I sponged the background with navy blue, and yellow for the lamp glow.  I fussy cut out the wreath, bow and presents after stamping them and added a few bold red brads to the wreath and the corners of the card.

Sketch #242 Add a Little Glitz

This card has a short story:   I wanted to use washi tape on a card today, so I found this challenge about "sparkle"  and wanted to play along so I started with that lovely silver shiny wahi tape, well after reading the rules to that blog challenge I realized I had went overboard with embellishments, but I didn't want to waste my washi tape so I looked for another challenge to play along with:

It was perfect!!  And the washi tape looks like nice foil wrapping paper for the gift I stamped.   I colored it in and then cut it out.  and of course pasted it down without a layer so I had to rip it back up carefully to add a layer or two.. then re paste.   I love how real the bow looks.  My Grandma would too.  In fact this year I got her a little magnet bow for Christmas. She always saved the ribbon bow. Since we were kids every gift we always  received we knew to give the bows back to grandma.

The one I bought for her is red. I hope she will like it, and that it sticks to her fridge.  They are for the top of candles.  So I might have to add some extra magnets to it.

 I'm also adding another picture of my squirrel friends.   This one is busy feasting on corn with a flurry of snow swirling around him.
