CTS #269~Feathery Friends, Stampin Up

I made this colorful card for the challenge at:
I used my stampin up set called Feathery Friends.   I thought  this to be so appropriate since I take a bazillion  pictures of the birds in our yard.(could be an exaggeration with the number of pictures, however I do take a lot)     After stamping all the images I then colored them in, and doing so with sleepy eyes, and shaky hands is no easy task.  But that's the finished product my friends.  I like how cheerful it looks.

On a different note, I went to a jewelry making class today, using alcohol ink and washers.. It WAS so much fun.  I am really hurting this evening, from the strain of sitting in one spot for an hour, but gosh I'm glad to make friends and try something new.  I did stab my finger with the poker stick which of course I didn't feel, just realized I had blood all over my project, and the poor owner was quite concerned.. but I reassured her no need and that I pack band-aids for such cases as this.  I'm always doing something to injure myself.
Thank you so much for stopping by for a Visit.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #288, Mediterranean Moments, At Home with You, Stampin up

This is the first time playing with this stampin up set called At home with you.  Oh gosh so many ideas and different seasons you can incorporate with this door.   It took me a couple tries with the framelits to line them up correctly but finally "SUCCESS".   I used an embossing folder for the brick background, and on the inside of the door I die cut some patterned paper to make it look like wallpaper.  However it still looked empty to me, so I added the little hanging sign that has the word Grateful on it, but still empty so I pulled out another stampin up set called Mediterranean Moments, and stamped the chair with the cat image.   I colored in the chair and then used my exacto knive to cut it out so you could see the "wallpaper" through it.  I didn't color the cat because the first few attempts at that were awful.   Coloring the wreath and flowerpots was a bit of work but I really like how they look.   I even like the glow of the lanterns.  Now after taking the picture I noticed I didn't make the back of the door any color.  OOPS... perhaps next time I will die cut out a piece of brown card stock so it's not so white.   I actually took a few different pictures of this card so you could see it from multiple angles.  The sentiment works well for my SCS (Scripture Card Sunday)  The verse is perfect for this card, because the last part of the verse "Knock, and it will be open"  how wonderful.   I'm going to submit this card to the challenge at:
I was inspired by spring, so I used the doorway as a platform to welcome spring with all of it blooms and colors.

I'm also  going to include a picture of this little cutie enjoying a snack.  I think it turned out so nice with the bright green grass, and to think just about 2 weeks about we had 2 feet of snow.

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.  I hope you will take a look around at my other cards, projects and pictures.  I'd love to have you follow my blog or facebook page. ðŸ’œ

SSC177 NATURES COLORS, Definitely Decorative Pines, Wonderland, Stampin UP

WoW, what a difficult color challenge for me at:
Let me just say I love a dark navy blue, in fact my living room color use to be indigo deep blue.  But to make a card, I just couldn't think of anything.   I thought of going Christmas at first because well I love a blue Christmas, however thinking of evergreens led me to the path I took for this card.  One might say it was quite the "adventure" getting here.  haha.   I used two stampin up sets for this card.  Wonderland for the pine trees with greater detail to them, and a 1998 set called definitely decorative pines for the moose and the pines in the background, I sort of used them for shading, and filling in the space.   The sentiment is from a heidi grace design set  by fiskars. I bought it from the local consignment shop.    The sentiment on the inside of the card is also a stampin up stamp, I just don't have the whole set and I don't know the name.
I stuck with 3 colors the dark navy, green, and beige, however I did stamp the moose in black, and the card base itself is white.
I tied some beige colored twine around the card,  with a bronze pine cone on the side for an embellishment to kick it up a notch.  I like how it turned out.  I think I will add this one to my Etsy shop and see what happens.
I'm including a picture of the first robin to visit our yard this spring.  Whoohoo❕   Spring is in the air.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

#TGIFC157 Ribbon Of Courage, Happy Wishes, Stampin UP, Sweet n Sassy Wedding

I want to give a big warm welcome to my newest blog follower.
Image result for minion thank you
I'm so happy you decided to sign up and follow my blog.  💛

I started by thinking a lovely Birthday card would work well for the challenge at:

Because I knew I would be working from the top row, straight across.  Hence all the pink, flowers, and pearls.  However, after a bit of thought I headed in the direction of wedding,  because a friend is getting married soon, and spring is in the air.    So I used a couple stampin up sets:  Happy Wishes for the sentiment on the front of the card,  Ribbon of courage for the flowers and leaves that are die cuts, and then lastly a sweet n sassy set called Engagement & wedding innies.   I also added a picture with the flash on so you could see the pearls I added to the middle of each flower.  The center was too big from the die cut so I filled in the space with my white liquid pearl paint then added the embellishment on top of that.   However because of the flash you can see my glue smudges considerably well too.  UGH❕ going to have erase those marks before sending it out.
Thank you so much for taking time to visit.

Week 297: ACTIVE~ Crafting Forever, Stampin UP

Here is card number two for today.  I will submit it to the challenge at:
When I saw the cue card word "active"  I immediately thought of my "good ole days"  I use to be so active, well as mom's aren't we all?  However, I kicked it up a notch with my exercising.  Some would say I might have been a bit obsessed with it.  Here was my mornings:  3am.. wake up bike 70 minutes, then lift weights, then go for a run, come home, walk the kids to school, then go for a walk later in the day about 10-13 miles..then walk get the kids from school, and then after supper a 3 mile walk..just to do it all again the next day.   Always getting ready for marathons on the weekend.   Then came my back surgery, and spinal injections..which left me unable to do any of this, and with chronic pain because of nerve damage.  I can no longer walk without the aid of trekking poles, plus because of my new life style I have gained extra weight.   So folks when I saw the cue card word, I thought of my life now and for me that's Stamping, perhaps that's why I love entering challenges.. it's a bit of that old competitive spirit in me, now instead of medals at the finish line, I'm working for badges for my little blog.   Sorry this was so long winded.   By the way I used my stampin up set called crafting forever to create this card.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

PP390 - A Sketch Challenge from Jaydee~Ribbon of Courage, Stampin UP

I made this card in memory of my Dear Auntie Ann who passed away with Alzheimer's.  I do believe they have the purple ribbon.   I also thought this card would be perfect to share with a care giver.  Honestly it's so hard on the families and friends watching their love one struggle with this horrible disease.    Now the first picture the ribbon does not look purple at all, but let me assure you that it really is.   But I was not happy so then I found a dark piece of purple card stock and stamped the purple on it.. hence the bottom picture.  I don't know which one looks better, what do you think?
I used the Ribbon of courage from stampin up, I think this is a fabulous set because you can make the ribbon any color of your choice for the cause you support.
I'm going to submit this card to the challenge at:

Challenge 364 - Butterflies, Sunshine Sayings, Simple Shapes, Stampin UP

I made this card to enter in the challenge at:
Optional theme is "butterfly"
I decided to flip the card to make room for my butterflies.  I used a die cut that I purchased from a craft store many years ago.  I embellished them with pearls.   Just seems to give it that finished touch.   I used Sunshine Sayings from stampin up for the background flower and the sentiment.   I am showing 2 pictures because I think you can see the embossed paper better with no flash on the camera.    I also used a die for that little scallop look under my squares, and those are a stamped image from stampin up also called simple shapes.  I'm so happy that I lined the shaded part in the center almost spot on.  That's awesome and so satisfying.  I then cut them each out for kind of a background mat under the butterfly.
Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.  I hope you will take a look around at my other cards, projects and pictures.  I'd love to have you follow my blog, or fb page.

Challenge 363 - Motherly Love~Stipple Hydrangea, A Mother's Flair, Family Reunion, Stampin UP

Today I made this card for my Grandma for upcoming Mother's day.    My Grandma will be 95 in June, and she is an amazing woman.  A Tiny little fireball.  I just want her to know how much she means to us all, she is the family matriarch.   Another reason I made this card is because my mom passed away this past Jan. 13th.. and 3 months later my Aunt Pat passed away April 14th, very unexpectedly, Grandma has had to bury 3 adult children now, her son (my dear uncle) passed away about 30+ years ago with a heart attack in his 40's leaving behind 5 children.  Grandma has also out lived two husbands.  Bless her heart, she perseveres.

I used three stampin up sets for this card.
Stipple Hydrangea
A Mother's Flair
Family Reunion
After coloring in the hydrangea I add glossy accents all over the flowers and the leaves.  I then added pearl paint drops to the center of some of the petals.  The soft patterned background worked lovely with the color choices today.
I'm going to submit this card to the challenge at:
Optional theme " Motherly Love"
I hope this card qualifies for motherly love.. because That is Grandma for sure.   A mom, A Grandma, A Great Grandma, and  A Great Great Grandma 💗
Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Challenge 55~Flourishing Phrases, Stampin UP

My goodness I ran short on white paper.  Can you believe that?  So today I made a run over to Michael's to pick up some card stock.  I also went to the dollar tree and picked up a few cute stamp sets with my daughter yesterday.   I will show you  pictures of those at the bottom of my post.  I'm most excited, because I stamped 8 different images and then made them into cards that kids can color.  I'm going to try and sell them on my Etsy Shop.  I thought it would be sweet for Mom's/Grandma's to take in their purse to keep little fingers busy or perhaps even for a birthday party activity.
Any ways today's card I made for the challenge at: Always Fun Challenges where the theme is "CAS" so indeed that is what I tried to do.  I used the Flourishing Phrases stampin up set and the sentiment I do believe is also a much older stampin up set.  I colored in the image both on the front and on the inside.  I added glossy accents to the lotus blooms and pearls to give it some dimension.   I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

Now for my other little projects.  I'll share  just one of the cards, and also with it all
Packaged up with envelope and crayons.  Do you think they will sell?

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.
I hope you will take a look around at my other cards, projects and pictures.  I'd love to have you follow my blog.  💜

Challenge #269 - Sketch, A Mother's Flair, Stampin Up

I made one more card tonight, and I will submit it to the challenge at:
I wanted to play with my new stampin up set called A Mother's Flair.   However, my UPS delivery never comes until later in the evening, so I had a late start with making this card.    I thought I'd bring out the pink polka dots and jazz it up a bit, I even added a few little pearls to mimic the white dots.  I also added a pink sparkle circle to give it a bit of shimmer.   I really wanted to use the cute shoe, but it just didn't fit in my circle.    I will be adding this card to my Etsy Shop tomorrow.
I'm so happy that we can enter the challenges here up to 3x.  Because I think I might have another idea.  It's such a fabulous sketch to work with.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #450, Painter's Palette, Watercolor Wings, Stampin up

Wow, folks it's 70 degrees here in WI.  That is super fabulous.  However, I'm just enjoying it from indoors.  I did a bit to much yesterday so today I'm hurting. Such is life.  The little dance of one step forward and 3 backwards.

I used my watercolor paper for this card background.  I pulled out a piece of wax paper and squeezed out a couple drops of ink from my navy blue refill bottle, then gave it a spritz of water and smashed my paper on top.  I then flipped it over and dabbed it with a kleenex to get the watercolor look I was going for.   It reminds me of blue jeans, back in the day when they were acid washed and splotchy like this.  oh the 80's.    Big hair, bold clothes.

I then used two stampin up sets called: Painter's Palette and Watercolor wings.  I was so happy with how my butterfly turned out and I added some glossy accents to high light it, and would you know I set it to dry and then needed the box I set it on, and carelessly stuck my hand right in the glossy accents.. grrrr.  I'm such a mess stamper.  But oh how I love it.   The inside sentiment is from a set I bought at one of the craft stores in town.

I had quite a few feathered friends visiting the feeders lately. SO much fun to watch how picky they are, their little beaks just tossing out the seeds they don't want, but nothing goes to waste here, the squirrels, rabbits, ducks help clean it up.  In fact I don't think I shared a picture of Ma and Pa duck.  I'll quick add that here too. You can see how much the snow has melted in a week.

I'll submit my card to the challenge at:
I took the challenge almost quite literally.   Blank Canvas, hence the painter's canvas stamp I chose, then  the watercolor background of course in blue, and then I even used the word "kind" in one of the sentiments.   I assure you, I planned NONE of this, it just actually surprised me when I re-read the challenge rules.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.  Please take a look around at my other cards, projects and pictures.  I'd love to have you follow my blog or facebook page. ðŸ’›
