#GDP323~ Light up Birthday Card using: Lawn Fawn, Push Here, Stampin Up: Bonanza Buddies, and Penguin Place

I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Bonanza Buddies
Stampin Up:  Penguin Place
Lawn Fawn:  Push Here
This is my first attempt in making a card
with lights.  Of course I wanted the little
lights to shine under the snowflakes.
I punched little holes so I new exactly
where to put the lights, and THEN.. the
copper tape, oh good grief, by the time
I figured out how to use that with
the negative/positive lights, I had nothing
lined up as far as the snowflakes.  UGH.
In fact after flipping the card back and forth
to make sure it was lined up, I smudged the
penguin, so I had to re-stamp that cute
litle fella.  I was making so much extra
work for myself, but I wanted the card
to be super cute for my daughter.   She
is the one that got me the light kit for a
Christmas gift.
After all that commotion only two
of the four lights worked.  sigh.  and I
forgot to use my new glossy accents on the
balloons.   Isn't that the way it works,
when ya want to do a spectacular card.

Well folks I included a video that
hopefully will work.  So you can see the
lights in action.  (wink)

Friends.  I am sorry to say I had to
 turn on word verification
 because I’m getting ridiculous amounts
off spam.  And sadly this has not stopped them.
So I am now only able to let friends comment.
This is so frustrating.  I am so sorry.  If you

HSSCC379~Frosted Gingerbread, stampin Up, Lawn fawn, Giant Merry Christmas

๐ŸŽ„Merry Christmas ๐ŸŽ„
I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Stampin Up:  Frosted Gingerbread
I also used the Giant Merry Christmas Die
from Lawn Fawn.
Oh I had such a difficult time making this very simple
card.  All because that giant beautiful die.
It is brand new to me and I wanted to use it quickly
before Christmas.  All my "cookie cutter"
stamps were to big to use together with it.
So only one little cookie made it to the card.
Oops actually two, there is one on the inside too.
I used glitter paper to go over the stamped cookie
image to add a tad of sparkle to the card.
I also punched out a tiny sparkle snow flake to place
 on the "I" in Christmas.
I used and embossing folder for the background, and a
little twine behind the snowflake cookie.

Sketch 452 Hung with Care, #elfie, Stampin up

๐ŸŽ„Merry Christmas.๐ŸŽ„
Three days to go.
How very exciting.
I have to get a little list together
of the treats I want to make for our
family.  This year for Christmas
dinner I'm going to add meatballs
to the menu.
Oh friends, you know me and diamonds,
but I try to always play along.
I love the sketch challenges at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Hung with Care
Stampin Up:  #elfie
This sketch reminded me of an argyle sweater.
So I decided to play on that, and thought it would
be cute to hang stockings on it.
Want to know how I achieved my diamonds today?
I used my triangle punch.  I folded a piece of scrap
paper in half then punched on the fold, so when I opened
it, there was a perfect little diamond.  I used that
as a template to sponge the ink onto my card.
I finally did a nice diamond.  whoohoo.
Remember, to Shine like Rudolf, give like Santa,
and most important to LOVE like Jesus.
Each of us in an innkeeper who decides if
there is room for Jesus in our hearts.

May your Christmas be Merry and Bright.

I can't wait until the beginning of the year.  I am going to
try and turn off word verification and see if those spammers
have calmed down.  I miss ya all so much.

Sketch #451~ Color & Contour, Star of Light, Rectangle stitched dies, Stampin Up

I hope you are all doing well.  The Christmas
Season is upon us.  I'm trying to take
time to enjoy each moment of it, and not
stress and fret over things.
We all know that can't be good for
this battle of the blood pressure.  Sigh.
How do you display the Christmas
cards you receive?  I have garland
hanging around one of our door frames,
and I use baby clothes pins to pin the cards
to the garland.  I love seeing them.
I have an old movie playing in the background
right now.  "The Man that Came to Dinner"
I love classic old movies.
I'm going to submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Color & Contour
Stampin Up:  Star of Light
Stampin Up:  Rectangle Stitched dies

This star and I had a bit of a struggle.
I was trying all kinds of different layering
techniques, but nothing was presenting itself
with that wowza factor, so finally after much
die cutting it happened.  It truly was a
"Hallelujah" moment here.  I  thought
for a moment I'd have to scrap the card.
This star always reminds me of the wise men, on
their journey to find the Savior in the manager.
So I was thinking of the song "We three Kings"
and hence the reason I used a musical embossing
folder on one side.

Now folks, hubby is home for the day, so I'm
off to have him help me bake some cookies.
We have not ever made thumbprint cookies.  I hope
they will turn out.

I can't wait until the beginning of the year.  I am going to
try and turn off word verification and see if those spammers
have calmed down.  I miss ya all so much.

HSSCC378~Reason for the Season, Stampin Up

I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Stampin Up:  Reason for the Season
I stamped the flower petals in merry merlot and
the leaves in evening evergreen, before punching
them all out.  The sentiment was stamped in
soft succulent.
I added the white pearls to the center of
the poinsettia because it is a neutral color.
I like the wood grain embossing folder, I think
it works lovely with this card, keeping it
classy and a tad rustic too.
I was also busy making Christmas tags.

Sketch #450~Tidings & Trimmings, Warm & Toasty, Stampin up

Oh gosh I miss your comments so muchly.
I feel like it is my only connection to the
outside world.  I was just getting
bombarded with spam.  It was so frustrating.
Therefore I tried to block it to the best of
my abilities, but in doing so I don't hear from
anyone anymore.  Tis so sad.
But nevertheless I love to make cards
and enter challenges.
Even when they are a difficult challenge
like this one for me today.
I'm just no good with diamonds, and I keep
trying, but still haven't got it down yet.  grrrr
I'm going to submit this card to the challenge
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Tidings & Trimmings
Stampin Up:  Warm & Toasty
I tried to cut out diamonds, please don't
look too closely, as they are really all uneven,
just take my word for it.  I then die cut out the
snowflakes, first in sparkle white, then navy blue
I layered them down with a silver brad, and then
ran the silver string around each brad to keep
it in place.   I think that polar bear is super cute,
with his adorable scarf.  Fun fact:  I've lived
in a cold snowy state my whole life, and not
once have I ever gone ice-skating.  Perhaps
in my next 50 years I'll give it a try.
Who knows, The Lord works miracles
everyday, and I just might be able to do it.
It's cold about 8 months out of the year here,
some might argue that, but truly I've seen
snow in the middle of May.
Well, in other news, I finished writing
out the majority of my Christmas cards.
I'm not a fan of the writing.  I'd prefer
just to make cards.
We are expected to get about 6-10"
of snow tomorrow.
I'm not spending as much time on
facebook, I still post a few things
randomly, but it was just getting me
too frustrated, so not worth it.
I'm also thinking about closing my Etsy
shop.  The way things are going in this
world and the rising costs, it's just
not working out for me.   I'm happy to
say that I did eventually reach 200 sales.
So that's a big whoohoo.  Not sure how
to go about selling my stamp sets that
I don't use anymore, but I'll figure it out.
The cards I make I will just send them out or
gift them to people to use.
As far as my health is concerned no big
changes, They had me on a BP med that hurt my
hands/joints so bad I had to go off that too.  sigh.
 Just praying and trusting the
LORD for a miracle.
Thank you for your concern and continued prayers.
I know some of you have been so kind to remember
me and I sure do appreciate it.

Sketch #449~Tidings & Trimmings, Stampin Up

Hi, I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Stampin Up:  Tidings & Trimmings
I enjoyed making this card, although I
wish I wouldn't have glued down the
holly and berries on that side.
but with my sentiment being so big,
I ran out of room.  Always the case with me.
I made two sets of the holly and berries, so I
stuck the other one on the inside.  Let me
just say the sticking down turned into a
challenge, then I thought I lost the tiny little
berries on my desk.  If you can imagine that.
But to my great relief I recovered them and
glued them down quickly so the little rascals
didn't get lost for the 5th time.
After stuffing this stocking, I think
I will look through a few of my other stamp
sets, because how grand would it be to have a
candy cane, baby doll, or little truck in there?
It's beginning to look like Christmas in our yard.
However, on the inside my orchid is
flowering.  And it has a grand total
of 10 gorgeous blooms.

You might just find a stamp or
stamp set you NEED to purchase.
  Perhaps even a card.
I know I'd greatly appreciate the sales.
