CAS Game #123 - Sketch Happy Wedding, Lawn Fawn

 Well I'm on a roll today folks.  I was asked to make a few wedding cards for a woman on facebook, so that was my goal today.  But while making cards I looked for challenges to play along with.  So I will submit this card to the challenge at: 

AAA Cards

I used a cute little set from Lawn Fawn called Happy Wedding.   It's actually the set I purchased for my Daughter's wedding, because she thought the little love birds were so cute, and indeed they are.   A bit of coloring and fussy cutting, but I really like how simply elegant this card looks.

Sketch #280 Southern Serenade, What I Love, Stampin UP

I was asked to make a few wedding cards for a lady on facebook.  So I thought I'd also take the opportunity to look for a couple challenges to play along with.  

I will submit this card to the challenge at: 

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 

I think this is a lovely sketch to work with.  I wanted to have this wedding card look a bit classy.  I stuck with grays and black and used only a hint of color for the flowers.  The back white piece is embossed with dots and then I sponged gray around the edges.   The next white piece is stamped with a lace image in gray.  I really like how pretty that looks.

The sentiment is from the dollar section at the local store.

FUSION Daisies~ Daisy Delight Stampin UP, The Happy Couple Occasions, Close To My Heart

  I LOVE daisies.  So when I came across the the challenge at:

 Fusion

I knew I'd have to play along, after all daisies are my profile picture too 🌼

I will be the first to admit this is not one of my "best" cards, but I really love my daisy duct tape so I had to incorporate that somehow. 

 I was asked to make a few wedding cards, so this is one of the four I made today.   I will be posting the other ones shortly.  

The big circle on the sketch reminded me of a ring, so I doubled up my rings to symbolize marriage and being united.   Probably something most people wouldn't notice on the card. I then just stamped one little daisy and added an embellishment to the center.

The stamp set featured in this card is:

FRUITS of Your Labor Card ~Definitely Decorative Grapes Stampin up

 I want to give a big warm welcome to my newest blog follower.  This is  exciting❕  

 

I'm so happy you decided to sign up and follow my blog.  💛

 Today I pulled out my 1996 Definitely Decorative Grapes from Stampin Up.  I purchased this off of ebay many years ago, and I've really only used it a few times.   I think the main reason I bought it was because we have a piece of art work that is stained glass grapes above my kitchen sink, and at one time I thought I could stamp this on the wall.  YIKES.. I'm not that crafty.  Any ways I've tried to make cards with it, and it just never seems to turn out the way I was hoping.  Nevertheless when I saw the challenge I wanted to submit this card to at: Cards in Envy  I thought I'd try again, because they want to see cards featuring fruits.  So out this set came, and then frustration set in.  I used a lot of scrap paper to try and come up with a design and then finally just realized I don't think this set is for me.  Good Grief.   With that being said there was also a little annoyance that I should have fixed right away when I purchased this set from the seller, the sticker does not match the image on the back, so you have to be very careful of the placement of the grapes and leaves.  Well you know me, I get stamping and quit thinking so many mistakes were made.  Hubby said to peel up the sticker and place it the right way but I didn't want a sticky mess.  So my solution:  Sell it. 

That's right folks I'm going to add another one to my Etsy store, and actually I'm going to include that other little stamp set and my card in the package too.    I will be posting it for $7.50 +S&H of $3.00.

I forgot to mention above about the card, I also used my grapevine embossing folder.  It's a bit hard to see in this picture, but I tried to sponge some color on the leaves and grapes.  I really like how that turned out.  I'm thinking this gal needs to put the Tuscan Vineyard on her wish list in order to have some grapes. haha

September Technique Challenge~Blossoming Basket, Grateful Bunch, Stampin Up

 Today is SCS on my blog, where I like to include a scripture verse or faith filled sentiment.  So for today my sentiment of scripture is on the inside of this card.   

I was inspired to make this fun fold card so I could submit it to the challenge at:

Try Stamping On Tuesday

I first heard of this fold from The Cow Whisperer's Creative Cards.  I'm not sure exactly of the name of it, but It looked easy enough to do and also a lovely way to use a standard size piece of card stock.   Which really made my day.  I went a bit out of my comfort zone again by using a floral background.  I'm not to good with the floral patterned papers.  It always seems a bit busy to me.   However, I stuck with it.  There was a bit of fussy cutting in this project today, and coloring, which was ok since Hubby had to work it kept me busy crafting.  I was also able to paint up a few more rocks.  I'll post a picture of those too.   I tried to add a few pictures  of the cards so you could see exactly how it opens and closes, and then thought why not try and take a video with my camera, so I'll add that on this post too.

and the inside sentiment is purchase from a local store.

I really do like fancy folds, however I'm always concerned that the receiver might not know how to open them, or display them such as the case with the easel card.  I just assume everyone knows about cards, but that's not always true.  So I don't make them so often, although I and my kiddos love them.  

So here are the rocks I painted and glazed this afternoon, just in case you're wondering I didn't paint the bit Wisconsin one.  It's actually a copy of the magnet I have in the house, so I thought it would work lovely on that big stone.  Sometimes I put stickers on them, how painting is more fun.

Sketch #279 Snow Angels, Jolly Christmas, Stampin UP

 Hi Folks, me again.  This is my second card today, but I just wanted to make sure I did what I said I was going to do on the previous post you can find here.

I used two stamps sets for this card, both from stampin up.  The first, Jolly Christmas for the sentiment, and then from 1999 Snow Angels.  That is the one I had to re-purchase,  again I owned it, didn't think I'd use it much and it has these darling little kiddos in the set that are fantastic, so I re-purchased it.  There's a lesson learned.  Perhaps that's why I always think twice before wanting to sell off a few my stamps and sets.  Although I do have quite a bit in my Etsy store.  I might actually just take them to the consignment shop in town.  Hopefully I won't want them later.   Oh Gosh the choices.

Yellow & Black Card Challenge~Painted Harvest, You've got This, Stampin UP

 I can't believe it's already September.  WHY must summer fly and winter walk?    Any ways I've been busy in the porch stamping away.  So up first is a card I made to be submitted to: Cards in Envy where the challenge is to make a card using "YELLOW & BLACK"  

To do this I went with two stampin up sets:  Painted Harvest and You've got this.  I really like how the triple stamp technique turned out with these flowers, and the black layers just add a certain punch to the card.  

Well we officially have our first roundabout in town. UGH!!!  I seriously dislike these things.  My son has always lived in bigger cities so he has quite a few, and when I'm driving and approach one, he says we will make a left.. which my small brain can't seem to comprehend.  You always enter the roundabout to the right and you exit to the right so how can it be a left turn... I suppose I'll learn. I HAVE too.  Oh Joy.
