Sketch #481~Holly berry happiness, hippest hippos, color & contour, painted poppies, stampin up

Why I choose the colors I do is something
I will not ever understand.   It just seemed
like the perfect idea to use that golden yellow.
Then after taking the picture I'm like yikes,
what was I thinking.  Well too late there it is folks.
I wasn't going to change it.  I am pretending
little Miss. Hippo is protecting herself
from the sun and not the rain with that
umbrella.  haha
I'm going to submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:
Holly Berry Happiness
Hippest Hippos
Color & Contour
Painted Poppies
I almost forgot the bow, but at the last second
I went to my old faithful punch that goes with
the holly berry happiness set.  It's the perfect
little bow to stamp instead of trying to tie one.
Thought I'd share a few pictures
of the little guy.  He's doing ok.
His drinking is getting worse,
but he's still getting fluid.  Praise
the LORD.
He enjoys having his bed close
by where we are so he can take a nap.
He also loves his toys still, but he can't
play with them long because of his jaw
and eye.  So here the little darling is resting
his chops on the window sill, and resting his
little ball next to him.  He's a sweetheart.
Look at that beautiful moon.
The other night my husband took a picture
for me.  He works out in the country and
it was an awesome sight.  We live next
to the train yard and with all the lights it doesn't
look nearly as nice.   I tried
to get a picture from our yard but all I got
was the glare of the train yard lights.  So
grateful my sweetheart sent me this picture.

Cupcake Inspiration Challenges #548~Bottled Happiness, By My Side, Stampin UP

I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Bottle Happiness
By My Side
I'm loving these cute glass bottles in this stamp set.
I imagine they will be gorgeous for a fall bouquet too.
I kept the background very basic.  I almost dry
embossed it and the last minute chose not to.
I was so happy the flowers lined up for me,
as did the bottle outline.  Phew!!
Even with my reader glasses on I sometimes
don't see it good enough.
I added a few embellishments to finish off the card.
I was most excited to see a pumpkin hiding
below the leaves in our garden.
My little buddy always likes to be close by.

Thank you for your continued prayers and
encouragement as I recover from covid.

Sketch #480~Bottle Happiness, Stampin UP

I decided to go a little vintage vogue
for this card.
I dry embossed the background and then
I sponged on some green and brown color.  It really
brought that embossing to life.  I could barely see
it before I started applying the color.
I tried a few colors for the flowers before I decided
on the golden yellow.  It just seemed to work
best for this particular card.
I'm going to submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Stampin Up:  Bottle Happiness
We had a wonderful Saturday.  The kids were all
here,  we had a nice lasagna dinner and garlic
toast.  We then spent most of the day outside.
My darling even served me sweet ice tea.
What a lovely treat.
HP was having a grand time too, he
loves all the extra attention.
Here is the big beauty in all her summer glory.
This black walnut tree has been a focal
point in our yard for about 20 years now.

Thank you for your continued prayers and
encouragement as I recover from covid.

July Sketch Challenge~Caroling Mice, Stampin Up

I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Stampin Up:  Caroling Mice
I thought this cute little solo singer
would look darling under the lamppost.
So I cut the lamppost in half to make it
extra tall to fit the sketch.
I wasn't sure about the DSP, but it
works with this card.  The little pops
of red just tie it all together nicely.
Here is a picture of my little rascal dog
this morning.  As I lay on ice and have my
eye drops put in and then warm compresses
He checks out the morning traffic and birds.
I get a full dog report later.  haha

encouragement as I recover from covid.

ABC Christmas Challenge L & M are for? Santa's Delivery & Caroling Mice, Stampin UP

I made this fun card for the challenge at:
L for Little
and
M for Music
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Santa's Delivery & Caroling mice
I went for a little train engine for the "L"
and for the "M" I dry embossed the background
with musical notes.  I also stamped a few
around the sentiment which happens to
also be a song title.
I just had to get this darling stamp set,
since most of my married life we have lived
next to train tracks.  I thought how fitting
to make Christmas cards with trains.
I love the santa belt ribbon tucked under
the song title.  It's perfect.   I like how the
little puffs of smoke lead ya directly up to
the words, and those tracks, are
fantastic.  Looks so authentic.
Aww my sweet puppers had a long day outside
this past weekend, his eyes are heavy and tired.
But he wants to play so bad.

Thank you for your continued prayers and
encouragement as I recover from covid.

FUSION - Colour Palette: Flowers~Fourth of July

I realized I did not make a fourth of July card
this year.  Omgosh.  That is not good.
So I thought this sketch and color scheme
at: Fusion was perfect.
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Bottled Happiness
Taylored Expressions:  Of Thee I  Sing
I went with Red, white, and Blue, colors.
for the white I chose to use puffy paint to
the center of the flowers.
I even watched a video that said do not
apply to ink, and what do you think I did?
I applied it to the ink so when I heat set
it the puff paint picked up a blue tone.
SIGH.  I mean seriously I must have an
issue following directions.
So I added a few white embellishments
around the flowers to qualify for the
white element, even though the card
stock is white.  The lovely stars are
washi tape that I've had on hand for a few
years now.  Apparently that's not much of
an item any more, however,  I love the stuff.
Speaking of love, my family loves these
homemade brownies, so I decorated
them with cute sprinkles for the
holiday celebration.
Our daughter had a long weekend, and this
little guy missed her, so he was happy to
see her.  He loves to cuddle up
 to everyone in the family.

encouragement as I recover from covid.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #663~On The Horizon, Wildlife Wonder, Stampin Up

This card is for my son.  He sent me the
most amazing video of an owl this past
week.   So beautiful, and right in the
city.   Everyone was going about their
business but my boy noticed it, and the owl
noticed him.
I will submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  On the Horizon  and
Wildlife Wonder
I like how the DSP sets the scene for
the owl.  I also added a bit of twine
to the edges to give the card a bit
of detail and character.
I raised up the stamped owl image
with dimensionals.
I am hoping he will like the card.
I  copied and pasted what I  found on the internet concerning
owls when you see one out and about.
"An owl is a sign of wisdom and understanding
for the vast majority of people.
It is a symbol of learning and mental change.
It also represents a fresh start and a new beginning.
You may be about to begin a fresh
phase in your life if you see an owl."
My husband and I took HP for a ride today.
He still loves it so much.
Such a Sweet buddy

encouragement as I recover from covid.
