Elf Work

This card made me smile.
I had the DSP all picked out before actually stamping
the images.  So after stamping the calendar and matting it,
then the Elf, coloring, cutting and matting that. It was
an issue with placement.  It seemed a bit busy.
So I fussed with it, I tried just using the red card stock,
and the white, but I really liked the candy cane DSP.
Then the most amazing thing happened, when I flipped
the card over, the two pieces fell into place the way you
see them.  It was like a little elf just placed them there
for me to see, and it turned out so nicely.
The amount of times I had to double check to
make sure the calendar days lined up to this
year was bit embarrassing and I'm still not
100% sure it is right.  Even though I got out my
phone calendar.
I will submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  #Elfie, Days to Remember

The picture below is my little oops, because I was not paying attention.
I stamped it the wrong way.  Sigh.  Such a pity because the
sentiment  stamped on the  first try so nice and straight,
that should have been my first clue something wasn't right.
Any ways, it was a quick easy fix.

Below is a picture of my little buddy.
I love the way he rests his little chops on
his sweet paws when he's resting.
The verse I chose for this card is:
1 Peter 4:10 KJV
As every man hath received the gift,
even so minister the same one to another,
as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Take it to the Beach

I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:
On the horizon, Sending sunshine,
Lilypad lake, paradise palms,
and ocean front.
I don't live near a beach, but I imagine
if I did I'd be searching for sea shells, and
daydreaming off in the distance watching
the waves roll in.  I'd probably attempt to
make a sand castle.  I'd also probably
have a book along to enjoy as well.  Mostly
I'd be visiting and taking pictures of everything.
When I think of  the ideal beaches, I think of nice
white sand with no rocks or grass.  Surfers off
enjoying the waves.  Picnic lunches and lemonade,
A place to relax and be barefoot.
My card is a whole mess of everything.
A lot of stamping, fussy cutting and sponging,
but it was fun to just drift off like a sailboat
and let my imagination take me
wherever the wind blows.
This is a picture of my little darling, HP.
He was curled up next to me while I stamped.
as you can see all my little paper pieces need
to be vacuumed up.  I love he keeps a few toys
in my craft room too.  What a pal.

The verse I chose for this card is:
Psalm 139:17-18KJV
How precious also are thy thoughts unto me,
O God! How great is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they are more in number
than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

Birthday Birds

I made this card for my husband.  This coming week
he will be 53.  What happened?  we are just kids.
Then I realize our son will be 30 and
our daughter 27 They are catching up to us.
He knows how much I love to read, so hence
the books on this card.  And now since my eyes
were attacked by that C-virus I wear glasses just
like him.  So I thought these little birdies were
perfect.  "birds of a feather flock together"
I will submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Bird's eye view, Happy happenings,
approaching perfection
Do you know the hardest part of this card
was deciding on what color for the birds.  Oh my goodness
the amount of time I spent trying to decide, and the trial
and error to finally just decide this is it.  I then had the
pair sitting on a branch with a sun beam behind them but
it was so busy.  So away with all that, and just plain white
kept it clean and simple.
Meanwhile My little darling was quite exhausted from
hauling his bed around the living room so he is flopped
out getting some rest now.
And look at this.  A green pumpkin.  I'm so amazed
that we even have one, because I planted these seeds
very late.  Like the end of June or beginning of July.

The verse I chose for the card today is:
1 Peter 3:7KJV
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according
to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto
the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together
of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Summer Citrus

Hello friends, another fantastic warm
day here.  I could get use to this kind of weather.
I decided to make a lemon card, because
I was inspired by the two lemons sitting
on my cupboard right now.
Plus this is a new stamp set to me.  I didn't even
realize when I ordered it that it also has dies and
an embossing folder.  Looks like I will have to save
my pennies for those items.  However, I made due
and did the fussy cutting. I love how summery this
card looks.  It is "fresh" if that is even possible
to do with a card.
I will submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Stampin Up:  Sweet Citrus
I thought I'd share a picture of my wild
garden, all those lovely yellow sunflowers
match the lemons perfectly.
The verse I chose for this card is:
John 15:16KJV
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you,
and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit,
and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye
shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

O Holy Night

I made this card for the challenge at:
Our themes this time are
P for Presents, šŸŽ
Q for Quick šŸƒ‍♀️
and/or
R for Robins šŸ¦
I chose R for Robins
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Happy Holly-Days, Bird's eye view,
Night Divine
I used a snowflake embossing folder after I stamped
the sentiment and branch.  Then I lightly sponged ink
over the top to make the snow flakes pop a bit more.
This is the closest bird I have that looks like a robin,
so I made do and colored it with robin colors.  I fussy
cut out the bird along with the holly berries and leaves.
I added the dimensionals to the bird.
I also have been practicing my crocheting.
I made this little coaster.  I think I will be asking
my hubby for a few colors of yarn this weekend
when he does our shopping.
I'm thinking of adding these coasters to my etsy
shop for Christmas.  Do you think they would
sell good?
My daughter sent me the sweetest message
from work today.   I smiled so big to think that
my kiddos think of me while they work.
They are such a blessing to me.
The verse I chose for this card is:
Luke 2:7 KJV
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped
 him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger;
because there was no room for them in the inn.

Say it with a Card.

I love summer folks, and this is such a grand
day. The temperature here is 102° that's crazy
for Wisconsin weather, but I'll take it.  Winter
is way too long here.
I wanted to sit outdoors a bit, but my little
buddy can't handle the heat anymore.  My darling
is working and I couldn't get the dog pool out myself,
so back in the house we came.
I decided to make a card for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin up:  Comfort & Hope, Hey Girlfriend.
I think the background looks
"chic & contemporary"  perfect for a teen card.
I stamped the young lady image, colored and
fussy cut her out. I love she is doing the hand
heart symbol, it seems like that is all the rage
these days.
Here is the little guy wishing he could sit outside,
but for now the window will have to do.
I needed a bit of encouragement today and thought
I'd pass it along to you.  Forward we go my friends.

The verse I chose for this card is:
1 John 4:11 KJV
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

Journey In the Wilderness

I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Reflected in Nature, Campology,
On the Horizon
So to make this card I used my little square die
and cut out all 12 pieces, then I glued it down
on a lovely piece of scenic DSP.  I
cut out the two cross section strips to make for the bigger
square.  After all that I cut little strips of white to
add to the borders to make it really pop.  I stamped
the birds in the top squares and the tent and sentiment
on white cardstock.  I used dimensionals to make the
tent pop up a bit, it made it look more realistic.
I am pleased with how this one turned out.  It was
a bit fussy but it's exactly what I needed to just calm
my mind and escape into my creative little world.
I have so many pictures of this little guy
sleeping, but I can't resist he's so cute.
I brought out my crochet hooks the other
day and decided to try and do something
crafty.  I was surprised it actually worked.
I found this lovely reminder (below)on instagram
and I really needed to see that.  So thought
I'd share it here too.
The verse I chose for this card is:
Deuteronomy 2:7KJV
For the Lord thy God hath blessed thee in all
the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through
this great wilderness: these forty years the
Lord thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.
