Sketch #411~ Magic Color Slider, Push Here, Lawn Fawn. Comfort & Hope, Home to Roost, Watercolor Wings, Stampin up, Spinner Card

I'm getting excited for summer, we got a little taste
of spring weather the other day, and it was awesome.
Every since I joined the smart phone community I've
been hooked on the instagram.  I follow this woman
who makes pottery.  Oh gosh that would be so fun
to do, I'd probably make one giant mess.
But I imagine that is a huge investment.  I believe that
any and all hobbies really are an expense.  Just seems
like having a kiln and clay and glazes could really add
up quickly.  So I will just dream, and watch her videos.
I honestly can't believe I got a card made today.
Dealing with extra leg swelling and pain, and lack
of sleep lately.   I had a hard time sitting and trying
to focus.  I didn't want to wear my compression
socks so I did a lot of elevating my legs.
I will submit my card to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Lawn Fawn:  Magic Color Slider
Lawn Fawn:  Push Here
Stampin Up:  Comfort & Hope
Stampin Up:  Home to Roost
Stampin Up:  Watercolor Wings
When I saw this sketch I immediately thought
spinner card, then after choosing the butterfly
I realized I'd have to create quite a large opening
in order for it to spin freely.  so after doing this,
I then realized writing on the inside of this card
would look silly, so hence the inside has the little
arrow pointing to the back where the writing
will be, so to keep the inside clean.
I added clear wink of stella to the entire butterfly
so it would sparkle.  I made a little video so you
could see it in action.  I think it's pretty cool.

Game #185 Witty-cisms, Label Me Bold, Stampin Up

I made this delightful card for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Witty-Cisms
Stampin Up:  Label Me Bold
I thought what could I do that is black
and white?  Then boom it hit me,
Graduation is right around the corner for some.
So I went with the graduation cap.  I colored it
in at first, and black of course, but it didn't
look right so I kept it ultra simple with no color.
I like how it turned out.  Training myself to
make cards that have less is an absolute challenge.

CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #410~ Guest Designer

The time sure flies, especially now that I feel like
I have a real job.  haha.   Being a guest designer is
a blast.  So much fun.
This week the challenge is a sketch.
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Berry Blessings
Stampin Up:  Sweet Strawberry.
(I'm still waiting on the matching punch)
You'll probably notice if you have the Berry Blessings set
that I left off one of the leaves.  I simply did this by using
tape to cover up the image I didn't want to stamp.  I
thought it resembled more of the moon shape of the sketch
this way.  That third leaf was posing a problem
for placement of the sentiment as well.
Does anyone know how to get more likes on instagram?
I search cards and hashtag the heck out of my cards,
but still not much happening out there on my page.  I'd
love helpful advice.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #595 Dragonfly Garden, Dandelion Wishes, Hydrangea Haven, Stampin Up

I love how this card turned out.  Just bright and
cheery.  With no distractions.
I'm going to submit it to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Dragonfly Garden
Stampin Up:  Dandelion Wishes
Stampin Up:  Hydrangea Haven
I used an embossing folder on the card stock beneath
the dragonfly, it's just a bit hard to see in the picture.
Then I used dimensionals underneath the
dragon fly.  I also added clear wink of stella
glitter to the wings.
Well, the package I had been waiting on didn't show,
what a disappointment.  They said:
Delivery attempted today at 9:43 AM
Unfortunately, USPS couldn't complete your
delivery and is holding it for you to pick up.
We're very sorry for the inconvenience.
Boy that frustrates me. I go no where,
we have a doorbell, and our mailbox is on our
home, plus HP, our dog lets me know if anyone
is at the door. There was not an "attempt" to deliver
unless it was the wrong house. Well, now my
dear husband will have to go to the post office
after work on Monday. Has this happened to anyone
before? It's just books, I don't need to sign for
a thing. She could have scanned them and dropped in
our box. Good grief. what a hassle.
Anyways, looking forward to the books when I get
them. I enjoy reading.
On a happy note for the mail service. I will
share the most delightful surprise I received.
I have an etsy shop and I do free shipping and
well folks sometimes that means I don't charge
enough to cover the cost. One would think I would
learn, but I do believe postage keeps going up on me.
Anyways, this darling woman ordered from me,
and the shipping was more then the items she
purchased. Here's the sweet part: she sent me
a thank you note with a few dollars to thank me
for my thoughtfulness, her note was so sweet,
I literally had tears in my eyes. She noted all
the details I put into the package I sent her.
Bless her heart.
What a delightful surprise.
There are good people and kind hearts
out there. I'm grateful to this woman
for being a blessing.

HSSIC358~Plant life, Succulents Happy Card.

I am so excited to share this card.  You see
my kids and I have been talking plants
for the past few days.   I feel so blessed
that my love of indoor plants is shared
with my kiddos.
They have quiet a collection of their own
beautiful plants.  It  makes me so happy.
So when I came across the challenge at:
I knew I wanted to play along.
I LOVE plants.
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Lawn Fawn:  Stuck on You
Kwellam:  Cactus
Clearly Whimsy Stamps:  Sweet  Succulents
The card is pretty basic, I just did a lot of stamping
and fussy cutting.  I used dimensionals, to give
them a lift off of their shelves.
Even my wall calendar spoke in terms
of plants.  All things seem to be on the same track.
I thought I'd share a few pictures of the plants
in my home.  Now I won't get too carried
away, by taking pictures of all my plants
that would be considered crazy (right)  haha
Just a few.  I have over 50 or so. Last time
I counted.

The Aloe
The prayer plant
Mother of millions
Lucky Bamboo
Rubber Tree
Nerve Plant.
I do need to get a few more succulents.
I only have a few the Spring Cactus,
Mother of Millions, aloe, kalanchoe, and elephant bush.

This is the calendar that I made, I Love it.

Sketch #410~Bonanza Buddies, Stampin up

I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Stampin Up:  Bonanza Buddies
Taking pictures of my cards lately is quite the ordeal
I'm not sure if my eyes are going weak on me, but everything
seems so light, so for this picture I used the phones auto
adjust for color.  It came through quite bold.
But I left it because I could see the colors better.
Perhaps that's why I'm not getting many likes on instagram.
because my pictures seem so faded out.  So I'm
going to give this a shot for awhile (day or two)
and see what happens.
I pulled out a few of the brads I had in my stash.  Do you
see them tacked on the various little squares?

See How light the below picture is compared
to the pictures above?
My little HP has an ear infection, and the poor
little guy is not feeling well.
I don't like to post pictures of myself
but I tried to get HP in a picture with me.
I thought I might even change
my daisy profile picture to this one.  I love my
little springer.  He's been such a buddy to me
since my back surgery.

Challenge #409~ Guest Designer, for CAS Colours & Sketches

I'm so excited to be the guest designer for the
month of March at:
The first challenge is a color one.

Such a delightful choice of colors.
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Varied Vases
Stampin Up:  Swirly Frames
I used the Granny apple green for the frame (border)
of this card, and the terracotta tile for the vase,
for the flowers I used the calypso coral, but I
stamped off first to give it a lighter look.
I chose to make this a thank you
card because I wanted to send out a note
of appreciation to a person
I bought a book from.  They went above and
beyond, and the book showed up in lovely condition.
The book's title is:  The Accidental Empress
I am so intrigued by these books.
I love learning about history.  So I like to look
up and research if things mentioned did really
happen.  I'm amazed at how detailed and organized
people can write.  I assure you I am not one,
especially with all my grammar errors.

This is going to be so fun sharing cards this month
with you all.  I look forward to seeing what
everyone else will make.
