Autumn Card

I am so happy to say the laptop is back and running
again.  At least for a little while.  The darn thing is
so old that it wouldn't connect to the WiFi.  and
so you can imagine our frustration being we just
spent so much money getting a new hard drive put
in it just to find out that it still wouldn't connect.
BUT folks, it was an easy fix just a little USB port
that allows it to adapt to the newer WiFi.  Oh friends
I'm most happy to be online again.  My phone is so
hard for me to see. even though it's big, I just have
been struggling with my eyes so badly.  So this
is a blessing to type here on the ole laptop again.
I might have to try and add some more things to my re-opened
Etsy shop. I opened it, but have neglected to add anything much yet.
I made this card using 6 squares, and laying them next
to each other.  I then stamped the tree background,
and other images.  It was like putting together a puzzle
when I lifted the stamp off, since the paper sort of stuck
to the inked stamps.
I'm blaming my eyes on the unevenness
of this card again.  I'm "looking" forward to my eye
appointment in September.  I hope this new doctor will
be able to help me.

I will submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:

It feels like summer but the yard and garden are saying
that summer days are coming to a close.  As you can see
my sunflowers are blooming lovely yet, and even
got a picture of my little pollinators busy working.
I
HP and I were just taking it easy watching the
activity listening to the train yard.

Christmas Camper

Well, it's been quite interesting here in our little
corner of the world.  First, the lap top crashes,
then the hard-drive on the desk top.  Then our
son has a horrible accident.  Life is put on hold.
Now the new wifi won't connect to the fixed laptop.
oooh the joys of technology.
I'm so relieved to say that our son is making a
good recovery.  Thank you Jesus.  The swelling
in his face/head are going down.
What a very scary time.  It never gets easier
being a mom, even when the kids are adults.
So I've been busy making Christmas cards,
it tends to bring me peace.
I made this card for the challenge at:
I used two embossing folders on this card.  The top
reminds me of falling snow, and the bottom is stripes.
I sponged ink over the tops of both, then got to work
stamping using my stampin up: Trees for sale set.
I love the string of lights,  they remind me of the
Charlie Brown Christmas tree lot.  In fact I actually have those lights
around the shelves above my stamp desk.  I will share a picture.

The verse I chose for this card is:
2 Cor. 9:15KJV
Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

Get Well Card for my Son.

I made this card for my son.
He was in a bike accident on Saturday.
We are so thankful that he is alive and didn't
break his neck.  He did get multiple injuries to
his beautiful face and head.  But as one doctor
told him when sewing him up, they could
get a plastic surgeon, but I'm glad he didn't.  He
will be healed In the Name of Jesus and in
the Lord's time.
So I thought this card would be fitting since he will
be eating soft foods for awhile.
I will submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Happy Healing, Sweet Ice Cream
Studio G: Get well soon
I used an embossing folder for the white card stock
and then layered my stamp images on top.  I tried
to match three of the colors up to the best of what
inks I had on hand.
Then it looked a bit empty above the sentiment so
I added a few little yellow star embellishments.

I would have included a picture of my son,
but I don't want to alarm people.  The doctor
said, " looks like your modeling days are over."  Which
I didn't think was very appropriate.  He will heal
and he is loved no matter what.
We would appreciate prayers for his healing.
Thank you so much.

The verse I chose for this card is:
Jeremiah 30:17KJV
“For I will restore health unto thee, and
I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD;

Christmas Peace even in the Storms

I made a Christmas card for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Peaceful Boughs,
Christmas Collectibles
I kept this one clean and simple.  Die cutting the
evergreen sprigs, stamping and punching out the
ornaments and then stamping the sentiment directly
on the white card stock.
I was in the need for some Christmas time
peace.  We just finished watching the Bishop's Wife,
one of my favorite classic Christmas movies.
You see our son was in an accident yesterday
and it was all I could do to get to him fast,
he lives a few hours away.  I'm so grateful
that he wasn't alone and that GOD protected him
from breaking his neck/back, or losing his eyes.
WE have much to be grateful for.  So I just
wanted to unwind a bit with some
Christmas time peace.
This afternoon I took this picture of the lovely
sunflower in our garden, another reminder
of God's miracles and ways everyday.

Ice Cream Cone

I made this fun card for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Sweet Ice Cream
Tart & Tangy
Color & Contour (dies)
I thought I had more stamps with lemons,
limes, oranges, but nope. only this old
wooden set with four small fruits.  I do think
I should start looking around for at least one
more to add to my collection.
I wanted to stick with the yellow and greens
for this card, and it was quite a challenge to
pick out all the yellow sprinkles in my little
embellishment box, but I got it done.
I love how this ribbon ties so nice and lays
pretty well flat for mailing.
HP had an emergency vet visit yesterday.
Poor ole guy (12) has had eye problems since
covid and being diagnosed with MMM ,
but yesterday his eye was swollen shut, so
we rushed him down and took care of it.
and GLORY to GOD there was a visiting
retired Vet helping out, that was extremely wise
and so knowledgeable about what to do.  He
even told us about his retired years.  He has
been a vet for the Iditarod race dogs in Alaska.
So "cool"  haha
Anyways the little guy of ours is taking it easy now.
Lots of extra eye treatments but that's ok.  Just want
to keep him as close to healthy as possible.

Christmas Card

I love a great card sketch challenge that helps use up
some scrap DSP.
I had to add one huge snowflake to my card,
because I couldn't un~see the fact my sections
were not lined up perfect.  Good grief my eye
sight is not what it use to be.
I'm going to submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Stampin Up:  Frosted Gingerbread
I went with non-traditional colors for
this cute little card.
I'm just so bummed that I wasn't thinking
about placement until it was too late and the
glue was dry, however I do love the DSP.
A few pictures of my garden.
It still amazes we are growing food here.
My darling picks the berries for me.
They are my favorite thing we have
growing in the garden.
HP is really struggling with his eyes.
Poor little fella can't even open his left
eye much anymore.  I feel so sad for him.
He goes in to the vet at the end of August,
but I know there isn't much they can do.
Just trying to make him comfy and happy.

Plants Galore

 .
I haven't stamped for a couple days again.
So I feel a bit rusty at it.  And my inks
were all weird, and by the time I got done
fussing with them, I had ink all over my hands.
I chose to play with patterned paper again.
It will forever be an obstacle for me and one
that I will forever try to overcome.  (wink)
I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Stampin Up:  Plentiful Plants
The striped DSP reminds me of some clown
pants from the seventies.  I don't know why,
and I'm trying to overlook it.  I just need
to use up some of the scraps I have
accumulated over the years.
I had to leave the one pot empty because when
I put a plant in it, I couldn't see the one behind
it so well.  I sort of like it this way.  Gives a
bit of hope and anticipation as to what will be
growing in this little pot.  To bad I didn't
have a cute little gecko to stamp on the rim.
I could see him crawling around inside one
of the planters but I wouldn't appreciate it.
I thought I'd stamp plants because I just
purchased us a new plant stand.  I'm
so excited I even put it together myself,
in fact I could barely get up off the floor
when I was done.  But I was quite proud
of how it turned out.  and it's still standing.
Below is a picture of the old stands.  They
were outdoor stands and a bit wobbly.
Here is the new stand I built.
and back up in the window with a few
of my plants.  The inspiration for today's card.
The spring cactus is still blooming.
She is so lovely.
Isaiah 61:11KJV

causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so
the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise
to spring forth before all the nations.
