Sketch #492~ Halloween Card #8

Here is Halloween card #8 for the 2022 season.
I put a fun little twist on this card.
I am not a huge fan of spooky Halloween stuff,
but I thought since I'm on a roll making creepy cards
I'd twist this one up a bit and make it cute too.
How cute is that little piggy dressed up as a witch, and
 pulling a pumpkin wagon?
I thought those black flowers in the upper corner
matched the DSP wonderfully.
Did you also notice the little banner on the wagon?
I'm going to submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Cauldron Bubble,
Tis Birthday Piggy, Cutest Halloween
Lawn Fawn:  Happy Harvest
Sweet little HP is still wearing the donut,
because of the bad allergies.  He is not happy about
it, but handling it like a champ.  Hopefully
we can get him into another vet, to get more Rx.
We just recently started him on supplements.
My orchids are blooming again this year.  I can't
even believe it.  All seven flowers are open and gorgeous.
I feel so blessed to have these beauties bloom.

PP609~ Happy Harvest, Lawn Fawn

I made this fun harvest card for the challenge at:
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Lawn Fawn:  Happy Harvest
I forgot I had a stamp with a scarecrow until
this challenge.  What  a lovely reminder.
This was a delightfully fun card to make because
the coloring and cutting was incredible easy.
I stamped the corn stalks directly on the white
card stock, and then layered the other elements.
I did use dimensionals under the scarecrow.
Those tiny leaves are from an itty bitty
leaf punch.  It's just like the old fashion
hole punches that were silver and collect
the circles cut outs underneath in the
hinged flapper.  Well this is a leaf style.
It's fabulous except for they get all over the place,
and to glue them down can really test ones patience.
I thought it was the perfect day to make this card
since it's the first day of Autumn. So I will also
share a picture of my little festive fall tree.

HSSSC398~Halloween Card #7

Halloween Card #7 for the season.
I will submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Spooktacular Bash
Bewitching
Clever Cats
Cauldron Bubble
Happier than Happy
I took quite a lot of artistic liberty with the
sketch for my card.  As you can see I went
a bit larger in scale for the circle image.
I had no intentions of going so far, but
after the cute bear was glued down, all
I could do was keep adding more.  At least
that's what I told myself.
Especially since my eyes were giving me
quite a struggle today.  So lining things up
were not as easy as usual.  I set the bear a bit
too high so I then needed to add something,
which was the pumpkin to balance it out.
I used 5 different stamp sets to create this
card.  The cute witch hat on the bear was
way to big, so I notched it out a little so
that it would not cover his eyes, and then
added a little white trim to finish it off.
Perhaps I should have stamped the bear
a deeper shade of brown, well next time
I will do that.  Lesson learned. just
hope I'll remember it.
Puppers is resting, still not happy with having
his paws wrapped up, but his allergies are
terrible, and he won't stop licking.  We just
got his new supplements, so we are praying
these will help him.  The Rx is doing
nothing to stop the itching and licking.
Poor little guy.

Sketch #491~ Halloween card #6

Here is Halloween Card #6 for the season.
Quite spooky for me. I have to tell ya this
was a stressful card.
I will first start off by submitting it to the
challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Scary silhouette Dies,
cauldron bubble, clever cats,
everything festive.
Now that we have the sketch up I will explain
the stress of my card.  You see orginally for that
little circle on the side of the rectangle, I had
planned a cat.  Oh yes a black cat with green eyes.
I spent so much time die cutting and trimming all
sorts of paper from orange to green to white to finally
leaving it gray, then I realized I couldn't color the eyes
a brilliant green, so I had to ever so carefully stick a
piece of white card stock under it.  This project took
probably 40 minutes, between my tired eyes, and sticky
clumsy fingers, things where not going well, finally
as I was about to remove the cat for the final time I ripped
his tail right off.  ugh!!  That's it I said to my self, I will
use a ghost but I  had stamped a cute cat sentiment,
so I had to find a new one and layer that on some
paper to cover the previous one.
I then decide to put the ghost lower down
to cover the majority of glue marks. and right when
I thought this fiasco was over.  I dropped the ink pad onto
my card.  See the lower right hand corner.  Well, at
this point I'm considering it art, and embrace it's unique flare.
sigh.
Don't even get me started on the moon.  The dies
come with one of those half moon shapes. That I tried in
a vast variety of colors.   Well that
was not "cutting it" haha for me.  So I opted for a
full moon for this spooky card.
Needless to say I was quite stressed with this card.
perhaps because it's too scary, skeltons, bats,
ghosts, Oh my.

On a happy note, look what came to our
yard today for a visit.   I'm sure that gorgeous
hawk was just looking for some mice.  He has
good pickings in that junk yard next door.

I hope ya all are able to enjoy a slice of pizza today.

FUSION - Front Porch~Hello Friend, Wishing you well, on the horizon. Stampin Up

I'm going to submit this card to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Hello Friend,
Wishing You well,
On the horizon.
I'm excited about this card because
I made it for my daughter to give to a friend.
I incorporated her friend's favorite color.
which I thought is perfect for fall.
I love this book binding fold.  It gives the card
such a unique look and an element of surprise,
since one would think it opens up fully.
It reminds me of the front door in the challenge picture
and shouldn't all doors have a welcoming
wreath on them?  haha. Well I don't~ at
least not until later in the season.
To create that book binding fold just score
in a bit from your original fold, and glue shut.
I chose to add ribbon to this section so I glued
that to the inside as well.  Then just use your
bonefolder to crease the new fold lines.

The turquoise is undoubtedly the
star of the show in this card.
OOH friends, don't forget what today is:
I hope you all enjoy a slice of your favorite pizza.

Sketch #490~What's Cookin' & Sweet Songbirds

I made this card earlier this
week for my daughter to give to the
 culinary students where she works.
I totally forgot to submit it to the challenge.
So I'm so grateful I still have time.
I got a little busy making a card for my son's
birthday which we are celebrating today.
He's off riding, and my daughter reminded me
while I was doing the dishes.  So I will
submit my card to the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  What's Cookin'
Sweet Songbirds
I had no intention of adding the ribbon and
bow.  However, I ripped the embossed paper
and I already had it glued down.  I surely
did not want to start over at that point,
so in comes the "clean up crew"
ribbons, bows, embellishments.  etc.
I thought it turned out ok.  Covered the rip
nicely.  and know one would know if I
didn't blab it out.
If you're interested I'll be sharing my son's
fancy fold card this week, and a few pictures.
I'm happy to say we have a few more pumpkins in
our little messy garden.  The pumpkins went crazy.
Also I love this picture of the bumble bee.  So pretty
on my pink flowers.
OOH and most exciting we have a watermelon growing
too.  I will post pictures of that too.
Quick Health update:  I'm still not fully
recovered from Covid.  It's been 9 months out
now.  I imagine because of my underlining
health conditions it might not ever get
any better.  So It makes me sad, some
days are better then others though. So I
try to focus on that.  My eyes are still
not very good, nor the smell and taste.  My blood
pressure has still been a challenge for me
and the doctor.  But we are doing supplementing
for now and in Oct. or Nov.  I go back just for a
check to see what's happening.  Then she
might put me on some stronger pills. Hope
It won't be necessary.  That the supplements will
be helping me instead.
HP (our dog)  is a mess of allergies, he has
all four paws in bandages, and sleeps a lot.
His Rx is not helping him at all, so we
are actually going to start this week
using supplements and fish oil for him.
So once again thank you for your prayers
dear friends.

Week 407: HAPPY ~ Halloween card #5

I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:  Everything Festive, Cauldron
bubble, Smiley Face
I took my "cue" from the card and decided
to use a smiley face to reflect the "happy."
The smiley face is from a much older stamp set
I believe the year it came out was 2000.
I think it turned out cute with the little addition
of the witch hat.
I added a few little stars for some magical spice.

Thank you for your continued prayers and
encouragement as I recover from covid.
And also,  for my dog, HP.
