My second card for today I made for: Time Out Challenges
I was determined to make it one layer, and boy did it become challenging. I used stampin up's Country Livin' and work of art. For the sentiment I used a little stamp I got from Walmart.. and the notes are from a Lawn Fawn set. I think it turned out pretty swell. I thought of my dad with this card because he plays the guitar so well.. I even drew in the little black image to make it look like his guitar. I can just imagine him playing this song Count Your Blessings along with many many more.. one of my favorites.. I'll fly away, and Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison, loved the way he would tap the guitar between picking, just made it sound awesome.

Keep Smiling and Keep Stamping
How wonderful to make a card while thinking of your Dad and its such a perfectly masculine design too. The soft striped background is fabulous and love the sentiment. My Dad didn't play a musical instrument but he did show me how to play 'the spoons' which I did show my son the other night. It was hilarious watching him trying to get them to work together!! So glad you joined us at TIME OUT!!
ReplyDeleteSuper take on our challenge and you did a fab job of making your card one layer-it really does rock! And adding the little black design to make it like your Dad's card is a very special touch...I love that Johnny Cash song too! Thanks for joining us at Time Out
ReplyDeleteGreat take on our challenge and especially great that you personalized the guitar image to look like your father's instrument! I love the water color sweeps behind the image too. Thanks for joining us at TIME OUT!
