#FMS546~By My Side, Stampin UP

What a lovely day here.  Sunny with a balmy
breeze at 82 degrees.  I could have this weather
all year long.
We had to make the usual grocery store haul.
Praise the LORD we can afford the prices,
but still suffering with what some would
call "sticker shock"  Anyways just
thankful we are hanging on by a thread.
Nevertheless, I did hear others grumbling too
at the prices, and mind you we were at Walmart.
We came home and while my sweetheart put
all the groceries away, I made us lunch.
We had hotdogs.  We had not had those in
probably years, but our daughter got us a
new brand and they were delicious.
Perfect summer day food.
I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Stampin Up:  By my side
I must be on a kick with the bold colors.
However, I do love how this card
turned out.
I stamped and colored each image,
and then used dimensionals to pop
them up and layer them
on the punched out circles.

When I  think of my friends, I realize how blessed I am.
I truly appreciate these individuals, they are all
so very different, but yet
I'm so grateful to each and everyone,
they offer me encouragement,
wisdom, love, and most important prayer.
My darling HP loves his toys, and he thinks
under the table is his secret fort area to collect
all his favorites.

Thank you for your continued prayers and
encouragement as I recover from covid.
And also,  for my dog, HP.

Sketch #483~ The Best Remedy, Stampin Up

I am just in one of those moods, where I
feel like, "what's the use?"   What I mean
by that is card making is so much fun, but
I often wonder what will become of it.
I just get bummed because I feel like if I
invested my time say in a potters wheel, or
perhaps macrame, that is something that would last
and people would like it more then a card.
I also feel like the price of postage is
constantly going up. Hence the main reason
I closed my etsy shop.   Well, I suppose I also
wonder now that I have a little collection of
stamps and accessories, there is no turning back.
So perhaps it's guilt I'm feeling at the cost
of all my supplies, after all it is just a hobby.
I'm a stampin up "hobby" demonstator,  I've
just not ever been a good sales person, even
when I worked at JcPenney's.  I understand
the cost of living (especially now) and the price
is sometimes just not affordable.  I don't like to be
pushed into things, so I'm not a pushy person.
I honestly don't know where I'm going with my thoughts
here this evening, just venting I suppose.
I did just have a funny thought though, Maybe it's
because I wasn't a cheerleader in high school.
you know those high energy kind of gals,
that know how to get the crowd on their
feet and excited about even a losing game.
Well at least I show up for the game.

Enough with my pity party.
I made this card for the challenge at:
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Stampin Up:  The Best Remedy

How does one color a skunk and yet still
see the lines in the stamped image.  That
was my dilemma while making this card.
Then I went for bold DSP for the banners
and background paper.  It might be a bit
busy, but there it is folks.  It just wouldn't
be a good week for me  if I don't  play along with
this challenge.   They really test your creative
skills here, especially today's sketch.
I'm always trying to save the honey and bumble
bees,  They seem quite pleased with the sunflowers.
The raspberries are doing well too, we just
picked our third little dish of them.  Delicious.
They remind me of my childhood.  Granddad
had a HUGE raspberry patch.
Darling HP is doing ok.  He threw up
quite a bit yesterday.  I'm hoping it was
just heat, or perhaps upset tummy and
nothing more alarming.
He has been doing pretty good today,
much sleep, and his  bad eye looks
very glossy today, but otherwise
he is doing ok. I love how he crosses
his paws. He's such a love.
Thanks for listening/reading my grumbles.
I really have a lot to be thankful for.
So I need to focus more on that.

Thank you for your continued prayers and
encouragement as I recover from covid.

Sweet Songbirds, Stampin up

Isn't this funny.  I played along with a color
challenge only to find out the time had
already expired.  Drats!!
It turned out so cutely too.  Isn't that
the way of it.
It was a challenge at: Hand Stamped Sentiments
The stamp set featured in this card is:
Stampin Up:  Sweet Songbirds
I like how the dry embossed musical notes
work perfectly for the notes stamped on top,
and on the inside.
My little darling was watching the yard
for me again today.  I love how he rests
his chops on the window sill.
Thank you for your continued prayers and
encouragement as I recover from covid.
And also,  for my dog, HP.

Challenge #479 - Colors~ Rays of Light, Bottled Happiness, Stampin Up

I had a difficult time capturing the colors on these
pictures.  No matter what lighting I tried,
the blushing bride and so saffron, just out powered
the soft sea foam.
Nevertheless, I gave it my best shot.  So I will
submit it to the following challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:
Botttled Happiness
Rays Of light
My husband says, "why don't ya stamp the green
darker so you can see it better"  I said, "it looks
better in person, so not to worry." haha
He is quite my pal when it comes to helping me
make card decisions.  I love that he cares.
I think adding the bow was the perfect little touch for
this card.  And so in keeping with the yellow I will
share a picture of my sunflower and the lovely
honey bee.
Also, Here is HP my darling, watching
the traffic as if to give a traffic report later.
He always takes his place during
Bible Study time.  Such a cutie.

Thank you for your continued prayers and
encouragement as I recover from covid.

Sketch #482~Sweet Songbirds, By my Side, Stampin Up

I made this card for the challenge at:

By my side
Sweet Songbirds
Oh gosh I love these little birdies.  They
are so adorable.  I don't know if I'm creative
enough to do multiple colors.  But I might
have to try.  I think it will give the
cards a new look each time I stamp them.
And this little branch is so fun with the
little flowers that I fussy cut.  It was worth
the effort.
I did add a few little embellishments
around the sentiment.
Those musical notes just seem to make
the card speak volumes.  haha
My little buddy loves to lay close by,
whether, it's Bible study time, card making
or watching TV.
I thought I'd share a few pictures of
my sunflowers.  I'm so happy they
survived the storm.
Also we have had two small
raspberry harvests from this garden.
Not sure the chimes are keeping the birds
away, but they look cute in there, so there
they will stay.  haha..

Hope you are all having a blessed Sunday.

Thank you for your continued prayers and
encouragement as I recover from covid.

Sketch #481~ Hippest Hippo, Swirly Frames, Stampin Up

Well I just wanted to make one more card
for the fun sketch at:
The stamp sets featured in this card are:
Stampin Up:
Hippest Hippos
Swirly Frames
I think this set is so stinkin' cute.
I'm having a blast with it.  haha
It does not help my moderation in stamping though.
It seems I want to use every die it comes with.
I took a little liberty with this sketch,
I didn't add scallops to the top and bottom,
and instead of a bow I used flowers.
I like the straight lines.  Which is
sort of funny, because if you saw my
decorating style in my house not to much is
in straight lines.  I'm just an odd one I suppose.
Here's the little darling wishing everyone a
very Happy Sunday.  I do believe he is smiling.

A small update on my health.
Six months out after covid, still not much smell has returned
and my eyes are terrible.  The hair loss has slowed down so
Praise The LORD for that.  Gosh that was alarming.   I really
miss my sense of smell, but mostly my eyes.  They are
very bad.  I now fight the dizziness, and such, so I've not
been able to drive down to my son's house and that makes me
sad.  Long distance driving is hard for me.  Something I loved
to do is driving.  But it seems I must not do that for now.
But thankful I'm still here and trying to stamp and read,
just amazes me how much I took for granite with my health.
I'm grateful that my eyes were as strong and well as they were
for 51 years of age, because when this virus hit, it came hard.
and exasperated my underlying health conditions.

Thank you for your continued prayers and
encouragement as I recover from covid.
And also,  for my dog, HP.
