CTS #287~Spooky Sweets Stampin UP

This evening I made a quick card to be submitted to the challenge at:
I used my new stampin up set called Spooky Sweets.  I'm having a blast with these cute little bats.  So much fun.  I used the background image stamp in the set, to stamp between the washi tape sentiments.  I think it worked out swell.   I also added a little black embellishment to each bat, it doesn't show up very well on the picture, but it's a nice little finishing touch.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

PP407 Cottage Greetings, Happy Happenings, High Tide, Waterfront, Stampin Up

Today is my hubby's birthday, so of course I wanted to make him a card.  Seriously, what kind of stamper would I be if I didn't make him one? haha.. Any ways I searched out a challenge to play along with so I will submit this card to:
I'm not sure how he will feel about the light house theme, but that's what he gets for this year.  When I first glanced at the sketch it is immediately what I thought of.   Plus he really is my light house in the storms of life.  I'm blessed to have someone so loving.  I'm a basket case of anxiety and now a "boat" load of health problems, and he keeps on going for us.

The stamp sets featured in today's card are:
Stampin Up: Cottage Greetings
Stampin Up: Happy Happenings
Stampin Up: High Tide
Stampin Up: Waterfront

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.

Challenge #287 - Sketch~For All Things Stampin Up

This is the second card I made today.   I will be submitting it to the challenge at:
This sketch is lovely, and yet I struggled with it.  I really should have taken a picture of my first try.  Many layers and colors, and it was all just a bit to much.  The sketch seems to shout clean simple lines, so I scratched the first card and proceeded with this card.  I used my newly ordered retired stampin up set called For All Things.  The stamps have that watercolor look, but to get the leaves to look more realistic, I creased the paper and then sponged over the top to make it look like the veins in a leaf.  I really like how it looks.  There was bit of fussy cutting but not to worry I had my cheater glasses on.  I must mention how super proud I am of the sentiment lining up perfectly in the banner.  WHOOHOO.  What a way to make a girl's day.

I'm adding a picture of HP.. showcasing my not so good picture taking qualities.  He's still so cute, and actually a bit worried looking, poor dear pupper's probably thought, "good grief don't drop the camera."  haha.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

TMS #468~Spooky Sweets Stampin Up

I made this card today for the challenge at:
I used my new stampin up set called  spooky sweets.  It has a matching punch and is fabulous.  The background is created by using one of the stamps.  I stamped it in 3 different colors.   I then began my work in the oval, I used sparkle paper for the stars and stamped the moon in yellow, I wish now I would have stamped it in orange to match the sentiment on the bottom.  The 3 banners on the bottom are all washi tape.  I added a few little embellishments with the silver twine and black enamel dots.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

TMR #93 Photography & Cameras, Snapshot, Waterfront, Vintage Leaves, Fall for All, High Tide, Lilypad Lake Stampin Up

I am so super excited to be the guest designer for:
Where the challenge this time is:
I did not have any cameras or photography stamps on hand, which was a great excuse to send me looking for something on ebay, and I was so pleasantly surprised to find this lovely stampin up camera "snapshot" so when it arrived, I  began creating.
I made 3 different cards, and I actually had my family and friends vote on which one they thought would be most suitable for the Male Room challenge, and quite honestly the leaf card was top notch.   And the quick story behind this is my mom who just recently passed away (January), LOVED to take family photos, and pictures of dad's cars and such, she liked to "document" everything, we call her photo room the "archives"  it's loaded with albums of our lives, and in great detail.   So when I was trying to think of a card, I wanted to make it special in her honor, however I  thought scenery and then thought just the camera.  It was my dad who said do something with a leaf.  I think you could make it fabulous, and by golly folks, that's the one that most family and friends liked.   So that's the story behind the card, and the details are as follows:

Stampin Up: Snapshot
Stampin Up: Vintage Leaves
Stampin up: Fall for all
The sentiment is from Michael's Craft store
I colored the camera with Autumn colors to stick with the leaves, and I thought it was a big more masculine, I added some silver foil paper to the center before adding the leaf, and some silver brads to give it some dimension.  Did you notice I used an embossing folder that resembles the polaroid pictures?   I think that was a nice touch, but hard to see.

The details for the other two cards are as follows:

Stampin Up: Snapshot
Heidi Grace: Rubber stamp words
Stampin Up: Waterfront
Stampin Up: High Tide
Stampin Up:  Lilypad Lake

Well I hope I did a good job as the Guest designer, and maybe inspired you a bit.  I can't wait to see all the amazing cards you will come up with.  I'm sure they will be amazing.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Sketch 279~Fall for All, Stampin Up

I was so excited to play with this stamp set.
Short story:   I had owned the lovely stampin up, 1999~Fall for All many years ago, most likely when it first came out,  however, I  sold it, not thinking I would use it much.  Well by golly I was so wrong.  It has a darling little boy and girl in the set, and it reminds me of my kiddos.  I've done that with one other set, and ironically it has a little boy and girl in that one too.  Any ways I found this set on ebay and it was reasonably priced and it came yesterday and in awesome condition.  Aww.. so happy.   I will send this to the ebay seller to show my appreciation.  I hope they will like it.

So I will submit this card to the:
I added a few layers of card stock to match the color of the leaves.  I used washi tape for the background with a gold ribbon for the narrow piece.   I had wonderful leaf brads that matched but it seemed to take away from the image, so I chose little gold brads on the bottom.  I liked that much better.

I'm thinking of adding one more card in the challenge with the other set I mentioned above.   I just have to get busy and make it.  That might not happen today.  My dad just phoned me and asked me to send a card to one of his friends, so that got me thinking it's time to send out a few cards to my friends as well.  I truly do love making cards,  I'm just not the best at getting them in the mail.   In fact I have quite a few cards on hand.. I try to donate them to places too, but they pile up.  I might have to invest in one of those over the door shoe organizers, I think that will hold the cards nicely.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

SSC186 & Challenge 73 Simon Says, You Got This, From the Desk of, Hand Delivered, Stampin Up Back to school

We had a thunderstorm roll through the area this morning.  I think perhaps HP was even wondering what was going on.  Then just like that the sun came out and there's a warm almost tropical like breeze.  I love it.
I stayed in the house however because everything is soaking wet outside, I just went out to put some more peanut butter in my trap. We have a HUGE chippie problem.  WE captured two of the little rascals and hubby took them to their new home in the park.  Hopefully they won't come back.  I included a picture of the little fella below.   I use to love watching them until we discovered how destructive they have become.
Onward to the card I made today. It is for my daughter who will start school this week.  I can't remember the name of the degree she is working for but I'm so very proud of her.
The stamp sets featured in today's card are:
Stampin Up:  Hand Delivered
Stamping Up: From the desk of (1996)
Simon Says: You Got This.

I also used an embossing folder to resemble a notebook, and washi tape for the sentiment.

I'm going to submit this card to the following challenges:

CTS #286 Big Birthday Candle, Birthday Wit, Amazing you, Stampin up

Today I was able to go for a Sunday drive with my dad again.   So I added a few pictures on this post.  We have a great time on those country roads looking for old cars and tractors.   He takes his big truck, and I take my camera and off we go exploring.
When I got home I was a bit spent, I even took my riding pillow for my back and legs, but sometimes it just don't help, anyways I went straight to the porch to make a card for the challenge at:
The stamp sets featured in today's card are:

Stampin Up: Big Birthday Candle

Stamping Up: Birthday Wit
Stampin Up:  Amazing You
The sentiment on the front and back is actually one big stamp, I just mask it with scotch tape and therefore only use the section I want where I want it.  I think it turned out pretty nifty.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Sketch 278~Night In Bethlehem, Snowflake Sentiments, Stampin Up

Well it's getting real to us that we are having our floors fixed.  After 17 years living in our old home, we have finally made the decision to do it.  We got estimates to actually jack our house up and re-level but that was very much out of our price range, we had been looking for a different home, but there again, we can't afford that, so we chose to fix up what we have.  It won't be completely perfect because of the logs, but it will be better, and we are praying that it will indeed help my back and legs.    Any ways, the contractor dropped off the basement windows.   You might think what does that have to do with leveling floors, well since we were doing the floor we thought we might as well get the windows replaced, they are the single pain, wooden frames that are rotten, and they leak horribly.  Actually one is not even a window just plywood.  It will be nice to get them installed.    So today we were downstairs in the "dungeon" as I call it,  trying to organize boxes and such and I realized, we have turned into a storage shed for our kiddos who are grown and moved out.  That's ok though, at least they know where their stuff is should they need it.

As you can imagine hubby is sleeping in the chair with the game on, and I headed to my porch to play.  So I made a lovely Christmas Card.  I will submit it to the challenge at:

The stamps featured in today's card are:
Stamping Up: Snowflake Sentiments
Stampin Up: Night In Bethlehem
I did a bit of dry embossing on the side strips to give them some character so they were not so plain, but it's hard to see on the photo, as is the gold glossy background paper.  I suppose I should have waited until the morning to take a picture, but I like to try and make a blog post every day.
I'm also sharing a picture of the rocks I painted again.  It's so much fun to do this.  I hope people appreciate them when they find them around town.

TMS#467~Summer Silhouette Stampin Up

I made this thank you card for the ebay seller I bought this stampin up set from.  I like to do that to show my appreciation, and also because I love making cards.   It's called summer silhouette.  I chose blueberry bushel, pineapple punch and crumb cake inks from stamping up.   I did a lot of stamping off to create lighter colors.  However when it came to the lovely horizontal design I used full ink on that.  It turned out so crisp.
I'm going to submit this card to the challenge at:

FUSION Galaxy~Healing Hugs, Blended Seasons Stampin Up

I made this card using Stampin Up's Healing Hugs and Blended Seasons.  I think they worked lovely together.  I'm going to submit it to the challenge at:

I stuck to the sketch side of the challenge for today.  I don't own any awesome galaxy type stamps, or such.  I do have a couple stars but nothing so grand as to make a card.  So I thought safe bet is to just work with the one side of the challenge.  So there ya have it folks.    I think this would make a nice wedding card.

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.

*I have added a few more stamps to my Etsy shop, I'm thinking about lowering prices so I can sell some of them.  Or perhaps combine them together for say around $50.00.  What do you think?

Challenge 72 Karla D. Designs ~Worship the Lord & Mini Treat bag, Stampin Up

Today I made a tag using my Karla Dornacher Designs stamp set called Worship the Lord.  I thought it would look bright and cheery with this background patterned paper.   I did have to paper piece the little lady so she stood out a bit more from the paper.   I'm going to submit this tag to the challenge at: Always Fun Challenges where the theme is "TAGS"  There were a total of 8 stamps used to create this tag.

* I added a few more stamps to my Etsy shop.   Perhaps I might combine them all and sell for $50.00 Do you think I would have better chances at clearing out a few of these older sets that way?

I'm also sharing the sweet little treat bag I made for my sister and her kids.  I used the stampin up thinlit dies to make this little darling.   I put hershey candy bars in the inside as a thank you for all the rocks they picked for me.  You can check out that picture here.

Challenge 376 Day Dreams in a Flower Field Stampin up

Today I made this lovely card for the challenge at:
For some reason in my mind I flipped this sketch upside down. UGH..nevertheless, I just went with it.
I used some of my patterned paper from Michael's for the bottom background layer, then I found an older stampin up set that worked lovely to stamp the purple and light green flowers.   After that I stamped the little mouse on her blanket, colored and cut it out to make it seem like she was day dreaming in a field of flowers.    The sentiment is also from stampin up.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.
