Along with this delightful birthday card, I made 

a chap stick gift box to go with it.  I just didn't

have any strawberry flavored chap stick to put 

in the box at this time.  It's added to 

 the shopping list. 

I'm really pleased with how it turned out, both

the card and the box. 

At first I thought it might be a bit too busy with 

the strawberry background, but it's not so bad.

All I know is I'm now craving strawberry 

ice cream, with some chocolate drizzle.

Challenge #202 Woodland Wonder, Stampin up

I made this card for our dear son-in-law.

He is a treasure to our family.  And 

Even though this seems like a childish sort 

of card.  I couldn't resist.  

You see it's a slimline card.  And our 

son-in-law is quite tall, so I thought it

fit perfectly, plus he likes to draw 

cute little characters, so I thought

he might appreciate this. 

It also has a fun little wobble sentiment

on the front.  And who don't love 

that silly fun stuff?  

I also added some glossy accents to 

the balloons to make them shiny.

Sketch #409~Friends are Like Seashells, Stampin Up

I like an argyle design, it reminds me 

of those sweaters in the 80's  I always wanted one.  

But never got one.  

Anyways, Diamonds are so hard for me, and 

yet I think I must try when I see a card challenge. 

Some day I will have to invest in either a punch

or a die,  to make diamonds that are evenly shaped. 

But I tried anyways with my paper trimmer.

I hope the background don't look too busy.  

I got a little carried away stamping shells.  

I like how the ribbon gives a nice textured look to 

the card.  I also added some glossy accents to 

the tiny shells in the diamonds. 

I like browns and blue together.  I also love brown 

houses with a red door.  Just thought I'd share that since

my mind is thinking in colors right now.  

Perhaps this summer I shall get a little jar of sand 

and glue that to my card, if at all possible, I 

think it would look so authentic with the seashells. 

I wanted to share this cute picture of HP.  This dog loves 

his toys, so tonight he went to his toy box and 

brought out the rope.  My husband has to play

tug with him, and after HP gets tired out he flops

on his back and holds the rope like this.

Look at all that fur.  YIKES.. Tons of shedding.  

But he so soft, that ya just want to snuggle right up 

close to him.

SSC251 HAVE A SLICE ~ Sweet Ice Cream Stampin Up

 

I made this card for the challenge at:

It's one of my favorite new sets.  

I've been playing quite a bit with it. 

Now I tried to get as close as 

possible to the ink colors.  These

are what I had to work with

Only Orange

Terracotta Tile

Pineapple Punch

Smoky Slate 

I think my terracotta tile was a bit too 

juicy, after looking at the finished card perhaps

I should have stamped off first.

I like the ripped edge of the yellow, it 

contrasts nicely with the clean edges. 

Thought I'd share a picture of my buddy.

He's usually on the bed with me while I lay on 

ice, but today he wanted to check out the sunrise.

After that, he kept me company, 

 as I went through my morning routine.

HSSCC357 Friends are like Seashells, Stampin Up

When there is a color challenge that seems difficult, 

I tend to shy away from them.  Sometimes for 

lack of the appropriate ink colors or sometimes

I just can't seem to imagine a good card. 

But this time I had all the correct colors, and a 

new stamp set so I had no excuses😉

I used an embossing folder on the white background 

to create some wave movement.  Because when 

I purchased this set I forgot to get the coordinating 

folder, and I wanted to add some elements of dimension. 

So I had to add that to my ever growing wish list.  

I used my aqua painter brush for all the seaweed and seagrass

on this card.   I actually looked them up to figure out 

the difference, but gosh it just got more confusing the more 

I was reading, so perhaps I should just call them sea plants.

FUSION - Rainbow Dress~ Hey Girlfriend, Stampin Up

I made this card for the challenge at:

The stamp set featured in this card is:

Stampin Up:  Hey Girlfriend 

I think the DSP worked wonderful to reflect 

a rainbow theme.  

The little lady, has the same DSP, I just 

paper pieced it.  Then I fussy cut out a 

flower and headband to match.  

Of course it seemed a bit plain, so I added a 

bit of bling to give it some sparkle.

Oh my gosh I love the look of that juicy strawberry.

Makes me want to have strawberry shortcake.  

What a fabulous card to go with such a dessert. 

I also love those cute little hearts. Such a great

flare to the everyday embellishments. 

I got the most amazing album in the mail today. 

My friend put so much time and work into making 

this.   I will share the video. Please excuse my voice, 

I have a bit of a cold (again)   Also the hands, were 

not being cooperative.

Challenge 493 Snailed It, Stampin Up

I had so much fun making this card for the challenge at:

Optional Theme: Peek a Boo

I debated over putting the die cut

mushrooms on the doors of the little 

windows.  First I was like, just emboss 

them, so I did, then I used pink card stock

with the gold background, then as you can

see I went with the mint color.  I don't know why

the littlest details cause me the most trouble.

I love the inside as much as the outside of this card.  

I think it would have been clever had I 

glued down a penny, a nickel, dime, and a quarter, 

 behind each of those doors.   Well next time. 😉

Today I was on a mission to try and save my prayer plant.

I was told to move it to smaller pots, and then put a plastic

bag over it.  Well we will see what happens.  It can't 

hurt.  The poor thing, just went from bad to worse over the

past 6 months.  It was gorgeous and I actually received 

many compliments on it.  I have had it about 10 years,

and it was huge, then about 6 months ago, YIKES.  

There were no bugs, or mites, I didn't change it's location,

The only thing I can come up with is perhaps it was root 

bound, so I transplanted it, and that's when it took a fast 

slide to it's demise.  I managed to take a leaf and use 

water propagation to grow roots, so hopefully it will 

come back beautiful again.  But truly I'd appreciate any

advice on this prayer plant care.
