I really love the stamped stripes behind the floral images, I think gray goes very well with the soft colors of the flowers and butterfly.

I was quite surprised to use this stamp set because I am still trying to break onto the scene with floral cards.  It's not something I feel all to comfortable with, but I'm learning. I really like how the embossed background adds a touch of elegance to the lace in the stamped image.  The little rhinestones give it just enough sparkle. 

My green marker ran out of ink at just the wrong time, so I had to resort to using a water colored pencil.  DRATS.. well that will be on my wish list now.

I struggle making sympathy cards, it's just such a reminder of how fragile life is.   So when life calls for such a card, I usually get filled with anxiety.  I try to calm down, but my body, just don't listen.  So I wanted to make my cards quickly and I'm so thankful for the awesome challenges that helped make it a bit easier to design a card.

FUSION - Rainbow Cupcake, Hello Cupcake, Over the Rainbow, Stampin Up

 Snow weather means stamping weather.  At least for me.  I made a few cards, and up first today is my rainbow card that I made for the challenge at: Fusion

YIKES.. it's a bit much with all the colors, and perhaps I might have taken the challenge a bit  literal, making even my cupcake rainbow too, but I thought why not.

FMS376~We Must Celebrate, Springtime Stroll, Stampin Up, April Showers, Penny Black, Lawn Fawn, Blue Skies. Hot Air Balloons

 Hello, I made this card for our son-in-law, I always try to make the cards "extra" special for our kiddos.   Hence the reason I included a video so you can see the spinning hot air balloon in action. 😉

As you can see I sort of flipped the shaded area of the card.  I kept it simple on the bottom with the sentiment, and filled the top in with the images.   I almost used a piece of washi tape above the sentiment to give it that crisp horizontal line, but it just seemed a bit to divided then.

Challenge #98 Fabulous Flamingo, Incredible Like You Stampin Up

 I was most excited to purchase this flamingo stamp set.  It was a bit difficult to line up and use for me, but this was my first card with it, so I'm giving myself a break.   I have a soft spot for these birds because as a child I was always told I stood like a flamingo on one leg, my other leg I would rest on my knee while doing dishes, just standing..etc.  Well after my little "accident"  and the ability to stand long, I can not longer do this, but it warms my heart to see my kiddos carry on this tradition.  It amazes me that even now as they are adults they  have not out grown this standing position.. in fact I learned in yoga that it is also referred to as tree pose.  Well for me and apparently my kids, it's just a real comfortable way to stand.  I miss that I can't do it anymore.

 Well I'm at the lovely age where my body tells me there is a storm a brewing, apparently more snow, with freezing rain and such.  I'm not looking forward to that.    It just also reminds me of how grateful I am to have a warm home, and a hubby who plows out the driveway and sidewalk, while I stay inside and stamp.😉

CTS #309 Purple, Thinking of You. Birthday Backgrounds, Eclectic Expressions Stampin Up

 I almost didn't submit this card, but then I thought about all the work I did to try and make a card for this sketch at:

CAS(E) This Sketch

So, I changed my mind an added it to the entry. 

This just seems like such a difficult sketch to work with.  I tried so many times with different papers, and then finally resorted to masking and stamping.    It's not my best work, and the fact I just stuck a bow in the middle of nowhere on the card really cracks me up, purely because the ribbon matched the ink so lovely.

FUSION - Tea and Bouquets~Tea Together, Healing Hugs, Beauty Abounds Stampin Up

 Goodness gracious trying to work with any floral print or make floral cards is not very easy for me.   But nevertheless I was determined to make a card for a dear friend. 

I purchased this stamp set to make cards for my Grandma, she loves tea and drinks it every day, I do believe it's part of her "secret" to longevity being she will be 97 this June. 💗

HSSSC308~Beach Happy, Stampin Up

I sometimes surprise myself as to where my cards will be headed.  For instance on this card today, I used watercolor paper for the background and chose a few calming colors, then I found some lovely citrus ribbon that I added while thinking how lovely a slice of orange would be in a relaxing drink under an umbrella.   Now the inside of the card is something to be desired.. UGH.  I wanted to carry the patterned paper to the inside which I used on the beach chair and umbrella.. and I also wanted to incorporate the ribbon again.. I think perhaps it was not a good choice.. Pictures don't lie.. and I'm not very pleased with the inside..PHEW.. we don't get judged on that part of the card.

Sketch #303 Wild at Heart, Lion Roars Happy Valentine's Day

 I made one more Valentine even though it is the 15th.. it's never to late for a love note😉  In fact in my husband's Valentine card this year I tucked in one of our love letters from 28 years ago.  The envelope has turned yellow and the paper fragile, but oh what a delight it was to remind ourselves this Valentine's day how young and new our romance was.  It just rekindles that flame and our commitment to love and cherish each other.

I think it just "roars" with cuteness.  

The background is actually a recycled paper bag that I couldn't part with because of the print.  I thought it would be lovely to use on a card.
